Perfect for large family get-togethers. This comfortable panoramic view bayfront 4 bedroom/3 bathroom condo is right on Sail Bay and just one and a half blocks from the Pacific Ocean at Mission Beach. The sand and boardwalk are right below you. Just walk downstairs and your toes are in the sand! The front is all glass on both levels with a long balcony and BBQ just off the living room.
On the first level (one floor up from the sand), the living room-dining room combination has a fantastic view of the bay as does the recently remodeled Californi...a-style open kitchen with lots of counter space and storage. There is also one bedroom with twin beds and a desk and a recently remodeled bathroom with a shower. We have installed a full-size stacked front-loading washer/dryer just off the kitchen, for your convenience.
On the second level (two floors up from the sand) is a master bedroom with a magnificent view of the bay, a high open-beam wood ceiling, and a comfortable king-size bed. Very romantic. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has bunk beds with a double on the bottom and single on top. All of them have high open-beam ceilings.
The condo is fully furnished with high quality linens, a fully-equipped kitchen with an under the cabinet microwave oven, electric range and cook top, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, under cabinet lighting and eveything you need for enjoying family dinners at home! There is a new 48" flatscreen TV, DVD/CD player, cable, Internet with WiFi and a telephone (free local and nationwide calling). Stereo/CD player in the Master Bedroom, too. ASK if this unit has AC!
Parking is a single car port (will accommodate two small cars in tandem or one large SUV) with additional free overnight public parking- a 3 minute walk away at El Carmel Street.

Description for entering premises is not clearly written in your letter. Had to call management ( phone # was not easily found) who then directed us through a door opening to many stairs (major problem) for entering first floor. Photos on website do not show or describe this clearly. Upon entering, found damp towels in dryer not knowing length of time left there. Also, not enough towels were found for ten people. Some of the towels had stains and were torn. The electric barbecue did not work. It took three attempts for the handyman to figure out the outlet on balcony not working. He brought a power cord to connect the barbecue to an outlet in the living room. The barbecue never got hot enough. Because signs along the walkway are not readily seen, please include more detailed rules about not taking a mixed drink off the property.
Calls for management help were polite. Nice views of the Bay.
Very adequate but not as nice as the photos depict

Service from website was great. Rate was good. Place was well supplied and pretty clean. The photos have a misleading color cast and perspective that doesn't reflect reality as the unit is fairly old (furniture, some bathrooms, paint, broken step to second floor) and not quite as large as the wide angle lens shows.
But all in all very adequate is a good description and it's offered at a fair price.

Good service prior to arrival. The condo was older but was clean, it was furnished OK except some mattresses were in need of replacement. The location was very good, that was the best thing we liked. The TV remote control in the master bedroom was missing, I called this in but never received one or heard back from anyone. The Uniden cordless phone in the kitchen did not work, we didn't need to use it but it rang twice and when we tried to answer it, it was dead. Thank you, Jim Keys

Three families (older daughter from Burbank and her husband + two children, younger daughter from Virginia and her husband + one child, my husband and I) all stayed very comfortably at Bob's Bayfront Paradise last week. The three Pack 'n Plays worked perfectly to accommodate the children, as did the two booster seats for the toddlers. The location was perfect, with easy walking both on the bayside and the Oceanside just a block over. The gentler bay side was especially good for sand-loving toddlers, and we all loved looking out at the cove on the bay with all the varied and beautiful boats. The joggers, bicyclers, and saunterers were so friendly as they moved by out of our balcony, delighting the children. The rental company was very easy to contact with any questions, and the cleaning staff helped by collecting a dress I had left behind and Nancy's staff promptly returned it. We were absolutely delighted with our choice!

The location was great and with the four bedrooms and three bathrooms, it met our accommodation requirements for seven adults. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We were disappointed with how shabby the place was and feel it needs an update. The carpet was dirty and paint was dingy. We would not want a baby or children playing on the carpet. The dining area and kitchen were smaller than we expected. The pictures made the place look better than it was.
Location great, everything else so-so

We had 6 adults and 2 teenagers stay in the condo. We found the condo to be fairly clean with sufficient amenities but the common areas were small. The front door ran into the dining room table, the TV room really could not fit more than 5 comfortably and the kitchen was pretty small too. The rooms were nice size and the beds were adequate. The balcony is seriously small and will fit 3 or so sitting down. The view of the bay is nice from the balcony. Maybe it was just our luck, but the electric BBQ kept tripping the GFI it was plugged into, the smoke alarm in the master bedroom had a low battery which kept chirping and the TV or DVR was on the fritz. We brought our own bikes with us and having to haul them up the stairs all the time was a drag as there was no secure place to put them outside. All of this was an inconvenience but not a deal killer. The location is a easy walk across the street to the beach and there is a fantastic local market less than 100 yards away. All in all, I think we all had a good time. The place was OK, it was just cramped for 8 of us.
Excellent Location, some improvement needed for the price.

I rented this home for my bridal party members to share for the week of my wedding, since the guests were all from out of state. Initially, Nancy's Rental rubbed me the wrong way, automatically assuming we were a young group of party people who were going to cause a ruckus, but eventually once I set them straight, they apologized for the assumption.
Check in was very easy. We were there early and called the office to get a new code. This was not an issue!
The condo was very spacious. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for our 8 guests worked out well. The condo is long and narrow and has multiple staircases, so if stairs are an issue for you, this is not your place.
I called Nancy's upon check-in, regarding the immediate issues we found in the condo--broken sliding screen door, very dirty laundry area, and trouble unlocking the cabinet for the beach toys. They sent someone over to check the lock and gave us a tip on how to work it. No one came to address the screen door.
Overall, this location cannot be beat. It's in an excellent location where everything is in walking distance. It met my family's needs for the week.

With a wonderful location and a great view, it would be hard to beat this property. It's clean, updated and very comfortable. The 3 full bathrooms were a real plus! The location is quiet enough so that we didn't feel we were in the middle of chaos, but it's also very close to the beach. Right around the corner is a place to rent beach bikes for $10 per day...a real bargain! The only disappointment is that the children are really not able to swim in the bay, which is right in front of the house. We were unaware of that when we rented the property. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend this place.
A super fun time!

Wonderful Week On The Bay
Left on 08/19/2013 for a stay in June 2013 | Sandy
We spent a wonderful week in this vacation rental. The setup worked well for 6 adults and 4 small children. We did bring a baby gate to limit access to the stairs. The upstairs master bedroom was large and had full wall windows looking out on the bay, the two upstairs supporting bedrooms were adequately large. There were two hall bathrooms upstairs. The downstair bedroom was large and had stacked full size washer and dryer and a 3/4 bath. The kitchen was more than adequate for cooking meals. The dining table was a little large for the space and very heavy to move, but provided good seating for 10 people when moved out from the wall. The living area, although not large, was well set up. The balcony was somewhat small, but with the wall of windows/sliding door you felt that you were outside when sitting in the living room. Parking is a little tight (only one space, but free parking within walking distance),which is pretty much the norm in the beach/bay area.
We did have a problem with the refrigerator when we arrived, but Nancy went above and beyond to resolve the issue! This company is very easy to work with.

this house is perfectly located between mission bay and mission beach! far enough away from hotel traffic and pacific beach to provide a nice quiet location on both the bay and beach sides. nancy's was super easy to work with and very accommodating to our requests, answering all questions quickly. the house was perfect for our group of 7 (ranging from 16-70) rooms were great size and provided privacy for all. having 3 bathrooms was wonderful!! everything to cook and have fun at the beach is provided which saved a lot of $$. can't wait to return!

6 ladies stayed for one week. There were enough beds to accommodate single sleeping for all! The view out the front window was great and the beach one block. Great boardwalks on both the bay and beach sides. Driving distances good to lots of activities.
Everything we needed in the kitchen was available and was nice to have large bottles of soap, shampoo and conditioner available in all the bathrooms. Extra blankets and pillows available. A large group of young people stayed in the apartment next door but were very considerate. The door of the apartment rattles when the other door opens and closes to the adjacent apartment. The keypad worked out great for comings and goings at different times.
For the best restaurants walk toward Pacific Beach (or take a taxi which are easily available on the street). The small grocery store on the corner makes great coffees and bagels etc.
We truly enjoyed our time.

We loved being close to the sand/water and just a short distance from the ocean. Overall we liked the condo. There are a lot of light switches--several we could not find the lights they went to. The dining room table is too wide for the space. We could not have the chairs around the table and open the entry door (the heavy chairs really grated on the floor when we moved them). It would be helpful if there were instructions to the TV in the livingroom. It took a lot of trial and error by a couple guys who know how to operate things. We finally had to call and even then it wasn't simple. The main floor bedroom was very warm, while the rest of the condo was cool. We did appreciate the washer/dryer, kitchen, livingroom, and small deck. The outlet for the grill didn't work.
We had a really good time in San Diego and appreciate all your help. Being able to check in early on 2/1 was wonderful. Thank you.

Six of us stayed here over New Years 2013 - three adults and 3 teenagers. With 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, there was plenty of room to spread out. We loved the view, and watched Sea World's New Years Eve fireworks show right from our balcony. We preferr being on the quieter bay side of Mission Beach, because the surf side can get very busy/noisy.
Kitchen was very well equipped - I suspect that the owners spend time there also, because it was a kitchen you could actually cook in. Place was clean. We liked the combination lock on the door, so large groups don't have to negotiate about who had the key. Nancy was very helpful and responsive.
Parking is tight over all Mission Beach - our huge pickup truck couldn't fit in the carport, but there was free overnight parking just 2 blocks away. Cyclists should be aware that Mission Beach has issues with bike theft, so bring your nice bikes inside at night. There was a small market just a block away, and a large grocery store less than a mile away. Don't miss Roberto's Taco stand, across the street from the roller coaster at Belmont Park - the shrimp tacos (for $2.50 each!) are wonderful.

A total of 9 of us stayed here for Christmas 2012. The location was great! There is a nice view of the harbor and a very short walk (5 minutes) to ocean. There is sand right outside the back, so kids could play in the sand near the harbor while adults could watch from inside. The beach is a great place to walk or for kids to play. It is also a convenient location for driving to Sea World, the airport, the zoo, etc.
There is a cabinet where you park that has a lot of sand toys and chairs for you to enjoy at the beach. There was also a closet in the downstairs bedroom, next to the washer/dryer, that had beach towels. This was a nice touch for going to the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked with lots a plates, glasses, pots/pans, etc so we could eat in.
This was a little cramped for 9 of us, 8 adults and 1 kid. The 4 bedrooms allowed everyone to have their own room, but it was pretty cramped near the dining table, and when too many cooks were in the kitchen. With all of us at the dining table, there wasn't room to walk around the table without people getting out of their seats. There were not a lot of places to sit in the living room area (right next to the dining table), so we used dining chairs to sit on. This wasn't a big deal for us, but something to be aware of.
Since there were 9 of us, we rented a big van so we could all get around in 1 vehicle. It was almost impossible for us to park in our spot with the van because of the tight corners and walls in the alley. We talked to the renters in the other unit and switched spots for our stay, and that allowed us to park okay. Fyi, for anyone looking for a large 12 or 15 passenger van, we rented from Readivan. I would reccommend them to anyone.
Overall, a very nice place to go if you want something in a good location that is close to the beach, but isn't super expensive. We spent a lot of time at the beach and around town (Sea World, the zoo, etc) so space wasn't an issue.

This place was a great location for my young family. It was nice to be beachfront on the bay and to be able to walk just a couple of blocks to Mission Beach. Response from Nancy's Vacation Rentals - 08/14/2012
We have replaced all linens (one had a small hole and a few had bleach stains from Acne medicine) and reminded our cleaners to check the BBQ to make sure the guests have cleaned it as guests are responsible for cleaning the BBQ after use. It's a non-stick surface and easy to clean. Nancy

The house couldn't be any closer to the bay than it is. The ocean is less than two blocks away and directly behind the house. Simply gorgeous sunrises as viewed from the front balcony. The bay has a concrete walk around a large portion of it, so if you like to walk, run, skate or bike it's a great location for doing so. While the walk was heavily used during our stay by folks doing all of the above, this didn't affect us at all. Actually very minimal noise from it. We all felt very safe in the entire area. The only concern we had was that parking was very, very tight. There are three rental units in the house with assigned and covered parking located at the rear entrance to the property. You access this through a one-way alley and at times, depending upon the size of their vehicles and how much space they used, it could make entering and exiting your vehicle difficult. Nothing major, you just have to really pay attention to your parking as well as being sensitive to your fellow renters vehicle accessibility. All in all, a super nice place.

This was a cute, clean 1 BR condo perfect for the three of us...and located right next to the beach and boardwalk...easy walking distance to amenities. The outside was at first a bit disconcerting as it was a bit drab, but no worries, the inside is newly remodeled and cleverly and sweetly decorated. The pull out couch is the most comfie one we've ever slept in! I would definitely rent it again!

The condo was great for 6 people. The location was great. The steps were hard for one of the visitors who was 86 years old but we knew that it had steps. We arrived to find the door code sent to us via email was incorrect. A phone call to Nancy got us in the door. The rental location was terrific. However, the place is showing signs of wear and is in need of paint and new carpeting. It was comfortable for our extended family group. There were two young men staying in the house on the other side of Bayside Lane (due west of the carport) who sat outside on the porch smoking, talking, and playing music to 2:30 or 3:00 am. I asked them to be considerate neighbors and they would go inside for about 30 minutes, but always came back outside and continued their loud conversations, which usually woke us up again. I would be reluctant to stay in this rental again primarily for that reason.

It was a beautiful place to stay. Enjoyed 10 beautiful days on the bay! The condo was very spacious and clean. The only downfall was the BBQ, which I couldn't understand why the other Condos had the other,so couldn't BBQ too much. The condo does need space to lock up bikes, as all of our bikes got stolen! It was a great Condo, and would stay again, but space needed for Bikes.

We used the condo for a lovely long weekend (Thurs - Monday) in May. My husband and I were there with our three adult children and son-in-law. The location was great, and it was nice to wake up to the beautiful, fresh air. We liked being on Sail Bay, which is quieter than the ocean side. The Condo had everything we needed, and was well-maintained. There were six of us, and when everyone was in the living room, seating space was limited, but all in all,it suited or needs quite nicely. If I had known how nicely the kitchen was set up, I would have planned to cook more. It was very certainly well supplied with all the neccesary items.

We stayed in Bob's Paradise May 2011 for a short week. The location was great it was quiet the kids could play on the sand, if we wanted to go over the the ocean side it was a short walk. The additional parking lot was perfect especially if you have a large SUV like we did. The layout was great plenty of room for everyone! The only few minor details that really threw us off was it was advertised to have a gas grill and when we arrived there was a tiny electric grill. We were told due to insurance reasons that they we unable to have a gas grill but the other 2 units in the building had full gas grills. Also the carpets where not in the best shape, I think the overall place was nice but the photos did it more justice. I think the best part of the place was the amount of bathrooms. Especially since we did have 10 people with us. I can't say that we would stay here again, I think it would come down to price if we did.

This condo was extremely "family friendly". Nicely kept, but not so frou-frou as to make us feel like we couldn't let the little ones enjoy themselves. The only problems we ran into was one bathroom shower that didn't allow water to become more than moderately warm due to a faucet issue, and the fact that we didn't feel comfortable leaving the sliding doors to the balcony open for fear one of the toddlers would attempt sky-diving. Also, the barbecue was really only an electric skillet on legs, not something we wanted to waste good steaks or chicken on. It would be nice if that were replaced with something more conducive to true barbecueing.

Don't want to complain, but just for your improvement.
Living room only sat 5 comfortably, even though it sleeps 10. Couldn't sit around dining room table unless it was pulled out and then you couldn't walk by or go out front door. Two chairs on upper porch were cheap plastic and filthy. Carpet was disgusting and linens in master bedroom smelled musty. View and location were good. Quiet neighborhood.

We stayed here for one week with 6 other friends (8 people total) and had plenty of room for us all. The house itself is much larger than at first glance. The rooms are all very large with lots of closet space. Comfy beds and fans for every room, should it get to be too warm. The kitchen is updated and well stocked with dishware and pots and pans for all of our needs. There are 3 full bathrooms, which is great for 8 people. The 2 bathrooms upstairs need to be updated a bit, but they are functional and in good condition. The master bedroom is quite large and has floor to ceiling windows. The view is beautiful, but makes for an especially bright morning, as there are only sheers on the windows, no curtains. (Don't plan to sleep in, if you take the master bedroom.) The living room also offers floor to ceiling windows, which opens out on to the balcony with a gorgeous view of the bay. We all loved the fireworks from Sea World every night and the easy access to the beach every day. The balcony is the only outdoor space so we wish it had more seating and maybe a charcoal or gas BBQ, rather than electric, but beggars can't be choosers, I guess. Quiet neighborhood and we really didnt have any issues with parking. Quick drive to the grocery story and walking distance to mini-marts, food spots, bars, and Belmont Park. It's in a great location and definitely good for the price. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
