NorwayNice place, but a bit noisy
Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The apartment was absolutely good enough for my partens, my 9 year old brother and me. The apartment had all we needed for 11 days. It was very nice to have a small garden outside.
It was pretty clean, but we found some tracses from others guests, but nothing to bother with. There was some small ants criping around in the living room.
The doublebed was nice, but the bunk bed made a lot of noise and was according to my parents not very comfortable. So we will not recomend this bed for adults. My little brother, who is 9, thougth it was good enough.
Some of the nights were very noisy because of the neigbours party, but we found it best to accept the noise. At least, this is quiet close to the beach and the bars. For me, it seemes like it lives many young people in the neigbourhood.
Very nice with a garage, since it is a bit hard to find parking in the area.
All toghether, a nice place that is worth the money.
But I will say that the apartment needs a little upgrade in a few years.

Great little house, super close to Trader Joe's and Sprouts markets and the best sushi restaurant around (PB Sushi, kitty corner to the complex), and an easy walk/bicycle to the beach and great swimming and surfing. Five of us were perfectly comfortable in the house and it was great to have a place stocked with all the basics so we could cook or grab an extra towel whenever we needed.
The only downside is the proximity to the nightlife of Pacific Beach on Garnet Blvd, not even 1/2 block away. Late night drunken revelry on most nights of the week makes the bedroom on the street side rather loud, and because there isn't an air conditioning system, if you try to close the window to the noise the room becomes stiflingly hot.
During our 10 day stay, the vacation rental side of the little complex was quiet and the guests were friendly and courteous, while two of the units on the regular rental side (ironically, the side away from the street noise) threw several loud, crowded, parties with guests getting drunker and more belligerent as the night went on. On two separate nights there were fights and people trying to break through front doors at 3 and 3:30 am happening right outside our bedroom window on the courtyard side of the complex. Definitely not optimal.
Despite the shenanigans of the young and drunk crowd, our stay was great and we loved having bicycles and boogie boards to use in this area where it's easy to find everything you could possibly want/need. The Nancy's staff responsive and helpful and we'll absolutely book with them again.

Dixon, CAGood location, very loud every night.
Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
When I booked your apartment, I understood there was a bar behind it, but I did not realize it would be loud until four in the morning every night of the week. I figured I could deal with the noise until 1 or 2 on the weekend. The neighbors across from the apartment were very noisy all night long. This was disappointing to me.
The other disappointing factor was that the dvd player and oven did not work. Although you sent out your maintenance man quickly, it disrupted our plans and I was disappointed I did not get a discount on my weekly stay for having to put up with broken items which seem pretty basic to me. The bunk beds were incredibly squeaky and this was a nuisance for the kids to deal with.
Okay, now the good part...the proximity to the stores and restaurants was great. The beach cruisers were fun and we loved walking everywhere from the apartment. -

Fort Mill, SCEnjoyed being close to everything including the beach!
Left on 06/27/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The apartment was cute, beds were comfortable. They had fans for when it was warm. The night life was a little much until 2am, then it was quiet. I really enjoyed being able to walk right out the back to get real "Mexican" food. Floors could have been cleaner. The one problem we ran into was the circuit breaker kept popping and needed to be reset several times while using the hairdryer. All in all, I was pleased with our stay, and would come back again.

Antelope, CAGood Choice
Left on 07/08/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The apartment was good, clean and comfortable. There was plenty of places to go and the beach was a short walk away. There is a loud bar just down the street but once the windows were closed you could not here anything. I do think you should do maintenance on the bikes and maybe some touch up paint on the walls. But all things considered it was a good choice for what we wanted. When we go on vacation again I will check with Nancy's Vacation Rentals first.

Left on 07/07/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This is a great location. The DVD did not work and we had problems with the oven but we did complain about it. When there was a problem with the drains and when we notified the owner there was an immediate response. The apartment was spotless and located only a block from two great grocery stores. Retail stores, bars, restaraunts, and the beach were only a few blocks away within walking distance or easily reached by the bikes provided. The area can get loud with late night revellers but is not intolerable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to experience Pacific Beach. The bus line is so good that we did not even bother with a car rental. We will definitely return!

Left on 03/24/2011 for a stay in March 2011
The good: Nice location but definitly not for a family. Its right behind a very popular bar and the neighbors are partiers. Had a great time.
The bad: It wasn't very well stocked: short on silverware, empty propane for the grill. Rather rude service when setting up the rental and contacting Nancy about the propane.Response from Nancy's Vacation Rentals - 05/17/2011
Manager
This guest is correct that there is a popular bar behind this 4-plex and that is the reason it is priced so inexpensively and I believe I have sufficiently disclosed this. They do have double pane windows and white noise machines in each bedroom. Plenty of families (actually mostly families) stay here and enjoy the cost savings it provides. The partying neighbors across the way were evicted.
I can not imagine that we were rude when setting up the rental (we do tend to extensively question certain younger potential guests and it sounds like this might be the case here) or when anyone contacts us about propane fills but if we were, I certainly apologize. We pride ourselves on customer service and, as you can see, we have a 4.5 rating out of 5 for customer service. -

A fine unit in a convenient location. Especially good for the twenty something crowd. Convenient to beach and local amenities. Public transit service connecting to all of San Diego is very good. A good value for the money in San Diego.

The house was in a great location, we had an incredible time. When we arrived we found the house very clean. We loved the bikes and body boards. The only problem we encountered was the house was incredibly muggy and stuffy. Maybe we didn't push the right button to get the ac going, but it was kind of uncomfortable at night. Everything else about the house was superb, and we had a great stay!

Kritzendorf, AustriaPb is great but don't expect it to be quiet
Left on 08/05/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We stayed in Jessica's apartment for 2 weeks; I had to work in San Diego, my family was coming with me. I used to live in the PB area in the 90s so I knew what to expect - it's full of bars and thus not quiet. Also, the people who live there are not necessarily the quiet type (all of this is pointed out accordingly in the description of the apartment!) Surprisingly, this was really not a problem, even with kids (7 and 9).
The location of the apartment is very convenient. Henry's (a supermarket suitable for all the basics, good produce and seafood) is in walking distance, as is the beach and all the restaurants and bars; my favorite Cafe in San Diego, 976, is just a block away. There is a garage included with the apartment, which we never used though - street parking is usually not a problem if you park before 7.00 pm.
All of the organizational aspects were handled professionally and the staff we met were very nice. This was a very good stay! -

Scottsdale, AZReally enjoyed the experience
Left on 07/16/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Overall very satisfied with the apartment. It was clean and adequately staffed with kitchen supplies, etc.
Recommendations: 1. Bicycles were in poor condition- they should be "tuned up" or replaced. Also, the bike lock did not work. 2. On July 4th it was noisy and loud at several of the houses/apartments near us. A fight broke out right next to our apt that involved several people. Police came to handle it. Was not a pleasant experience to be so close to it, especially having children with us. -

Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in January 2009
I spent a month in Pacific Beach in the wintertime. The weather was great for beachwalking and people watching without being too too crowded. Restaurants were easy to get into as well. The apartment felt comfortable and safe, and I liked the friendliness of the neighbors and the neighborhood cat. Noise was not a big issue, even on weekends. Location was terrific for beach, restaurants, and San Diego spots.

Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in November 2009
We enjoyed our stay. It was centrally located, in walking distance to most restaurants. The only downside was that it was a little close to a bar/restaurant. We had people standing close to our bedrooms and it was a little irritating at 1 in the morning. If your young and like to party you would not mind.

Sun City, AZLovely decor, but cramped
Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in May 2010
We stayed in the studio apartment behind the duplex. The location was great, so close to Mission Bay. We loved the cruiser bikes that was part of the package. However, in spite of charming decor, it was too cramped for us. When the couch was made into a bed, it was impossible for the inside person to get out. Overall, claustrophobic, better for just one person. The duplex in front was booked, darn it, so the manager moved us to another much larger place for the same price.

The apt was cute and good location, but very close to the bars and loud music. it wasn't meant for four women with hair dryers and curling irons and laptops. we couldn't do very much without tripping the breaker which was down the sidewalk by the laundry. that is probably the only reason we would not recommend it.
