If you are looking for a romantic get-away for two, this is it! Karla's extra large (900 sq ft) south corner condo has one of the best views you'll find on the east side of beautiful Sail Bay, looking toward the fabulous sunsets. From the living room you have a 180 degree view to the south and west of beautiful Mission Bay through the floor to ceiling windows and patio doors.
The condo is la creme de le creme due to its expansive remodel. Karla's condo features a plush King size bed, fireplace, shower for 2, and has dimmer lights throughout - ma...king Karla's condo one of most romantic locations you'll find. Other amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, wireless internet, cable TV with two large flat screen TVs, free local and national calling, electronic door lock, George Foreman Grill and 2 beach cruiser bicycles. There is one underground parking space and the condo is in a gated building. Coin op laundry room just 30 feet down the hall and on every floor.

Would definitely stay here again. Condo very nice with many high end finishes we loved. Very small problems with Cable/Internet, no coffee filters or enough TP but issues easily resolved. Location can't be beat with fantastic weather and views. Loved the ability to walk to ocean, restaurants etc... Will definitely do this again!

We stayed in this unit over the Christmas break in 2012 and again in 2013. Can't beat the view and location. We prefer staying on the Bay to the beach, much quieter and a better crowd. Would be nice if they fixed the shower head and were more diligent about cleaning (we had to buy a bottle of Lysol and clean the bathroom ourselves upon arrival) but otherwise no complaints and we look forward to staying there again next year.

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, great view, bikes and comfortable accommodations.
Luckily the bikes were adjusted to our height needs--it appeared that one of them would not have been easy to adjust without a tool (a hex wrench I think). Bells would be very helpful for passing on the bike ways.
It took two days to figure out how to coordinated the 4 electronic gizmos to play a DVD in the living room, and we never figured out how to plug in the DVD in the bedroom.

Amazing and peaceful view, wonderful walkways, great bikes with rental for these wonderful paths, fun 1000 piece puzzle in the closet and great assortment of dvd's.
It was a bit unclear where the lock box with the key was but your staff was immediately on the phone to help us out. The tv and dvd player could use a set of instructions for the rental we used.
While everything was very clean the king bed sheets had a bleach spill and color had disappeared from an area. Made the bed unattractive.

The best part of this condo was the view. We thought it was unfortunate that the wrap around sofa cut off much of the view from the rest of the condo and also made going out on the small deck awkward. Does the owner know that rain comes thru the deck windows and into the condo? There was quite a bit of water inside the window frames after the rain storm when we arrived.
We really appreciated having bicycles to use during our stay. Thank you. It would be helpful to have an allen wrench in the unite so that the bike seats could be adjusted. One of the bikes needs a new seat. The duct tape on my husband's bike ruined a pair of North Face pants.
The kitchen was supplied well, but dishrag or sponge with which to clean off the countertops was needed. We had to buy one.
I'm not sure if we would stay here again or not. The decor was a little too ornate for our taste, but others might love it.

Beautiful setting with a gorgeous view of the bay. Very quiet this time of year. 1st rate condo. The mattress was a little odd and could have been better. Otherwise the furniture was nice. Also more every day dishes & wine glasses (only 2 that did not match)

We enjoyed our week overlooking the Bay. The condo is comfortable and well-appointed, great kitchen (though we couldn't get the lights under the cabinets to turn on). Also appreciated the parking space and availability of the bikes, convenience of laundry facility and overall cleanliness. The city also keeps the beach very clean. Our biggest issue was the noise. We are baby boomers and found ourselves in the middle of the millennial neighborhood. They partied hearty.

loved our stay in this comfortable, spacious condo. View of the bay was memorable. Thought that we received exceptional service when we phoned to say the bikes allocated to our property had a puncture.
Only very small criticism is that there was no folder in the condo giving us information on things like the system of lighting (it was a bit complicated for us Brits to work out), and it would have been helpful if there had been info on the excellent transit system ie what buses to catch to the old town transit centre and where the nearest bus stps were located. We eventually worked this out and have left some timetables in the condo. If ever we are lucky enough to the area again we will definitely use your rental company.

My husband and I travelled to California for two weeks, splitting our time between San Fran, Orange County and San Diego. This condo was exactly what we were looking for. It was clean and spacious with an amazing panoramic view and close to everything. The bikes were awesome as the actual ocean is just a small bike ride away. We orginally booked for 4 days but stayed an extra day - which only took on short phone call to arrange. My husband and I are already planning our next trip to stay again.

We were thrilled to be back in one of Nancy's Riviera condos. The location is exceptional and our condo was well-maintained and as advertised. Our only concern was with the cleaning staff, whose car was parked in our spot a half-hour after check-in and who had all the keys to get up the elevator and into the condo. Hopefully, owner will have gotten the message by now and future renters won't have to deal with this.

I grew up in San Diego and now that I live in cold country my wife and I now come back for a visit every December. For several years we've stayed at an upscale PB hotel on the beach, but thought we'd try something different this year. We were very happy that we did. Aside from being less expensive than the hotel (especially once you factor in parking and internet costs at the hotel), we were surprised that we preferred being on the Bay to being right on the beach. The sunsets were just as spectacular and there's a beach and a boardwalk, but it's much quieter and the demographic seemed to be more families and students than PB beach bums. The beach is still very accessible, just about a 20 minute walk around the Bay to get there. It was also great having a full kitchen so we could make some meals and have friends over for dinner rather than being forced to eat every single meal out as we did at the hotel. As for the unit itself, it's exactly like the photos on the website. Nancy is very accessible and responsive.

The condo and the location was fabulous. The amenities by the owner went above and beyond all expectations. The condo provided everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. When we first checked in we had an issue with the tv, we called the rental agency and within one hour they sent out someone to come in and fix the tv.

My husband and I drove highway 1 from Napa to San Diego for our honeymoon. Our last 4 nights were spent in this condo. The condo and view were beautiful. Every night we had the perfect view of the sunsets, resembling paintings. In the mornings we took bike rides with the bikes provided to us or jogged on the pathway right below our condo. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was stunning with an amazing shower, and fireplace in living room was romantic. We were less than 10 minutes away from airport but I only heard one plane the whole trip. We were less than 10 minutes from Sea World, 20 minutes from San Diego Zoo and downtown, 40 minutes from Safari Park but it was an easy drive. It's close to all highways we had to take to get from here to there but the condo itself was in a very quiet residential area. If you go grocery shopping I would Definately recommend going to Sprouts Farmers Market. Unbelievable prices on produce. Then Von's, get a Von's card.
Only complaint I have about condo is that the people staying in the room above us had a child who ran around a lot and we could hear it way too often. Also, the people in the condo next to us were very loud so we had to sleep with the windows shut. Also I wish it had a pool but I knew that it didn't going into it.
Overall, it was perfect though. We prepared our own meals every day and the condo had plenty of supplies to let my chef husband work his magic. We had a very fun, spontaneous, romantic, easy honeymoon at this resort. We'd definitely come back & recommend it to our friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Karla's condo. It has been upgraded with a huge shower and beautiful kitchen. Really nicely furnished and well supplied including extras like shampoo & conditioner, oils & spices, etc. The location is fabulous with an amazing view! This unit is one of the best in the building because it has the extra windows due to being on a corner...amazing bay views. Loved biking and running on the boardwalk.

Perfect location, awesome condo with great views, very comfortable furnishings and well stocked kitchen. We wanted a place to completely relax and this was it! Easy drive to Old Town where we could pick up the trolley and have all of SD at our fingertips, short walk or ride to the beach, and the bay was our front door. Slight issue with bicycles but that was sorted within 24 hours. We have every intention of returning!!

We stayed here in November and it was very nice. The condo is very updated, especially the kitchen. We had trouble with the remote blinds and we couldn't find the remote to the fireplace on a cool night, but I am sure they have fixed those problems by now. Everyone we talked to about the condo was very pleasant and we had a nice stay there. It was located close to our daughter's condo too.

My husband and I rented this condo for our honeymoon. The condo itself is so beautiful, you can tell they put a lot of money into upgrades. It was so nice to rent a place with a full kitchen, grill and balcony facing the bay. The only issue we had the whole time was the toilet flusher was broken and a plumber came in twice to fix it, but it didn't actually get fixed. We had to flush it, and then stop it from running water the whole time. It was just a hassle. Also checking in to the condo seemed to take some time, and patience. There were a few lock boxes, things weren't in the right places and it was a little frustrating.

The condo was in a great location. We enjoyed the views, the beach, the quiet and the beach cruisers. The interior of the condo was nice. Kitchen was well equipped. Parking was secure. Our biggest item of dissatisfaction was the bed which was like sleeping in two canoes. Otherwise, the condo was just what we were looking for.

We had a great time at the condo. The place was spacious and it was nice to eat breakfast on the balcony in the morning. Close to everything, just a few minutes drive from downtown and the most important places. We really enjoyed our holiday and had a very relaxing time. Nice and beautiful sunset in the evening, we highly recommend it to everyone.
The service has also been great, thanks again for helping me out with my books :)

This unit was exactly as advertised, and recent changes to the tenancy agreements to ban smoking from all spaces remedied an issue that arose after a neighbouring tenant chain-smoked on his balcony while our patio doors were open. Great service from the property management team. Feedback recommendations:
-Clear the clutter from some of the bedroom closets.
-There were quite a few ants that made their way onto the workstation countertop in the bedroom every morning. Not a nuissance, but should they encroach further into the unit a pest-control expert should be consulted. I imagine wee ants are a part of life in San Diego however, and they in no way limited our enjoyment of the suite.
-The height of the bedroom TV cabinet should be cut down down by a half-inch, as the tight fight against the ceiling produces an intolerable high-pitch squeaking noise when tenants in the suite above (4th floor) are active. This woke us up rather early on two mornings, but again - not a deal breaker by any means. A simpe design flaw that can be fixed.
-In-suite laundry was valauable, but the clothes dryer took several hours.
Over all a wonderful stay in a secure building with a perfect location on the bay.

Karla's Condo #304 was just lovely and very comfortable. Loved the access to the beach, balcony, fireplace, comfy couch, shower, bedroom, all of it! The bikes were such a nice treat - we just couldn't get enough of the boardwalk! A couple things didn't work in the condo, including the blinds on the south side, the DVD player in the livingroom or the combination lock to the cabinet in the parking lot with the beach chairs. Had to call Jeremy for the combo to the bike lock as it wasn't in the packet and he was very helpful. Robert was set to come by at 10am on Sat. to fix the DVD player but it looked like he didn't make it. All in all, we were fine without the above. Plenty to do and see. Would highly recommend the Mission Beach Cafe for breakfast and the Hornblower Sights and Sips Happy Hour cruise. Can't wait to return!

Upon entering the condo, we were pleased to see that it was clean with a great view. it is a beautiful condo. However, the ad listed it as kid friendly and it definitely was not. From the white carpet, to the mirrors on several walls, glass table and the exposed electrical outlets, our 17 month old came dangerously close to zapping himself. Also the mutiple electronic equipment, buttons and lights were all at child level. This made for a very stressful vacation. Jeremy did his best, but the condo had several problems. Several of the motorized window shades were not functioning, all 3 of the DVD players were broken, the TV was not functional and required tech assitance. The BBQ was broken and was not replaced until the 4th day of our vacation, spoiling the meat we had purchased and requiring us to spend 100's of dollars on outside dining. The high chair was not there, but Jeremy brought that over that night along with a white noise machine for my child. Also we ended up paying more than the advertised cost, which left us wishing we had stayed at a hotel.
The bottom line is: its a good condo for older adults, but not for parents with children. Read more
Response from Nancy's Vacation Rentals - 08/16/2010
Here is the ad on our website for this particular condo, starting with the headline...
"Romantic Getaway for two, 180 Views, Sunsets, Bikes, WiFi, King Bed, Very Upscale!"
"If you are looking for a romantic get-away for two, this is it!
The condo is la creme de le creme due to it's $300,000 remodel. It features Air Conditioning, a plush King size bed, fireplace, shower for 2, and has dimmer lights throughout - making Karla's condo one of most romantic locations you'll find..."
We have 8 of these condos and this one is the least child-friendly which is why we advertise it as a "Romantic GetAway for Two." None the less, we do consider the other condos as "child-friendly" (not "child-proof") meaning the beach is just outside the door and there is a children's playground less than 200 yards away. I'm not sure why she ended up in the one condo that does not even have a bathtub. Perhaps it was the only one left for the dates she needed or perhaps it was the one she chose. We do not ask the age of people's children and feel this is up to the parents to ask questions about the availability of child-proof safety features or to bring their own. This beautiful condo is particularly high end and everything is electronic from the fireplace to the window blinds to every single light being on dimmers with master switches for all. Two of the electronic window blinds stopped working but it does not affect the view as they face the building next door. The owners are not local and we are trying to locate someone who can fix them.
I'm not sure why there was a gas BBQ on the balcony. Gas BBQs are not allowed according to CA fire code and we have replaced all the others with George Foreman Electric Grills. None the less, the condo does come with a stove top and oven in the beautiful and fully-equipped kitchen so there would be no need to let meat spoil or eat out.
I believe we are the only agency that provides free- of-charge 7-day a week high-tech service for things like the DVDs, TVs and internet connections. If you have a problem, just call the number in your instructions and Robert will either talk you through how to work them (the most likely problem) or come over to fix it.
Jeremy certainly tried his best to please these guests, even providing them with a white noise machine for their child in what is probably our quietest location.
These extra large 900 sq ft panoramic view condos are so far superior to a 250 sq ft hotel room where you get charged extra for things like parking, phone calls, internet usage, bikes, etc. We do have to charge extra for cleaning and city tax but that is clearly stated. Nancy

I can only say positive things about our stay in this neat & clean condo. We booked with only 1 week notice and everything went very smooth. I was so happy to find a place to stay that wasn't a hotel and that let you stay less than a week! (Summer months often only allow weekly rentals as we have learned being seasoned vacation renters.)
As a first-timer to San Diego I asked a lot of questions to Jeremy and Nancy (of Nancy's Vacation Rentals) and they kindly answered all of them.
The bikes that were provided were an extra bonus and should not be overlooked because it's just one more way to enjoy the boardwalk around the bay.
Everything worked and the condo was stocked with all the necessary items (including paper goods, shampoo, laundry soap, etc)...just buy the food (if you plan to cook)and you are set!
Again, a gorgeous view, beautiful condo & great location!

We had a great stay at Karla's condo on sail bay. Beautiful condo, beautiful view...and the bed was especially comfy!
Only complaint we have is that when we arrived the room had not been cleaned from the prior occupant. House keeping arrived shortly after we notified Nancy's Vacation Rentals of the problem, and they did a good job cleaning the condo. When we called, we were told that we would receive some sort of compensation for the inconvenience/error...I've yet to hear back from Nancy's regarding what that refund/compensation will be.
