Spotsylvania, VAGreat Stay in the Sunshine City (minus a bit of the sunshine !!)
Left on 11/09/2012 for a stay in October 2012
A fantastic home, in a great location, with wonderful amenities...and an owner who was refreshingly and pleasantly wonderful to deal with in all regards !!
Home was great for 6 friends traveling together, with plenty of room, access to laundry, bicycles to accommodate everyone and more...with a great walking/biking trail right out front along the Bay. House was immaculate upon arrival; view was spectacular; quiet neighborhood with quick access to all areas of SD; great coffee-shop right around the corner for early morning caffeine fix; gas grill; 4 Tv's; front porch with seating; back garden seating area; resident hummingbirds that visited every morning...and so much more...all at a great price.
Thanks for a wonderful stay ! We hope to be back !

This was a lovely house in a great location. Easy to find and very easy access to everything the San Diego area has to offer. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfy. The main bathroom was very large and modern, the master bath, though, was small and could use some updating. The combined kitchen/living room area made it easy to have everyone together.
The only inconvenience was that the washer and dryer were not accessible through the house. You needed to go out the master bedroom sliding door, around the side of the house, to the garage (which is kept locked). Also, the washer is High Efficiency and works like a dream, but does require the special detergent, which required a quick trip to the grocery store ( we left the rest for those after us to use). -

Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in December 2011
This house was welcoming and had all the comforts we needed for a family of 7 adults!! The location / neighbourhood/house were all great. Located at beachfront on Mission Bay. We really enjoyed the front patio for morning coffee and the private backyard in the afternoon. We would definitely stay here again. The location was central to any of the places/attractions we visited so made a terrific home base. We aren't city lovers which made this location was absolutely ideal for us! Neighbourhood is friendly and safe with lots of little restaurants/cafes within walking distance.

We would definitely return and I can't say enough about this home! Property managements was superb and offered great follow through and thorough communication! This is definitely a 5 Star rating!!!

We loved staying at this location. Would highly recommend that you know the people who would be staying in the back house, as you are in very close proximity. House very clean, beds super comfy, and plenty of kitchen accesories, except not a lot of cabinets to put your groceries. Close to all attractions, and front patio a great spot to watch every kind of people watching you could imagine, and the fireworks !!!

Thanks for the great review, we hope to host your family again at the house and the cottage. We do have cabinet space for groceries, but guests often change things around and sometimes the cleaners don't catch it to put things in their proper place. We do provide a lot of dishes so that unlike a time share you have a second or third plate to use without washing one first :) Sorry for any inconvenience.
Although all houses in the beach are close together, we have tried to arrange it so each of our houses has their own separate outdoor space so as not to overlap with other guests. Each home has a private patio, chairs, propane grill and parking area so that you would rarely see each other while staying there. It is ideal for large groups as well so you can have 2 patios and 2 grills for big groups. -

Phoenix, ArizonaTruly Unforgettable Luxury
Left on 07/15/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This is our third year staying in this home. Our three-year-old grandson refers to it as "our beach house!" From the moment you step into the nicely furnished, well-appointed,clean and fresh home until the time you (sadly) leave, this place feels "like home." Why do we love "our beach house"?
1. Each year we come back, we have been met with upgrades and special touches.
2. The owner has thought of everything, from kitchen to bath to living room to bedroom to lovely patio to front porch to beach fun! We love having free Internet access, too.
3. The location is great! We have walked to Sea World, as well as the beach, and played with the small ones in the bay. The owner has thoughtfully laid out local restaurants, activities, and stores.
As we consider all the vacation homes and hotels we've stayed in, this rates #1 (and we've stayed in some 5 star resorts). I wonder why we ever stayed in a hotel on our trips to San Diego and refer our friends to this little 3 bedroom gem.
We will be back again next year! -

This the second year that we've stayed here. The location, while not beachfront, is across the street from Mission Bay Park, so sitting on the front porch is great for people watching. The kitchen is great, the beds comfy, the amenities well thought out. There are several bikes in the garage, a washer and dryer, a back patio, a grill, and 4 TVs. The beach is an easy 2 miles- a nice walk or bike ride on the trail.
This is our home away from home for our adult son and daughter, as well as my husband and myself. We love it!

This vacation home has it all! To start, the managers are wonderful! They were very quick to respond to phone calls and emails and were very accommodating to all of our needs. The house is beautiful! It was very spacious and comfortable for 3 adults and 2 young children. The granite tops, custom tile work, furnished kitchen, washer and dryer, and top of the line mattresses (so comfortable) made our stay that much more enjoyable. The location was perfect! It was centrally located to all the places we wanted to venture to and the kids loved having a playground and beach just across the street. This house was even stocked with just about eveything we needed, beach chairs and toys, bikes, stroller, they had it all. It doesn't get much better than this!

Well reviews don't get much better than this either! Thanks so much for taking the time to review our rental and share your experience. We strive to give all of our guests an exceptional vacation and it sounds like we succeeded this time. We hope you will stay with us again next time you are in San Diego.

We had a wonderful two weeks staying in the big house because the little cottage (which we had booked) had accidentally been flooded just prior to our arrival. We were delighted to be swapped in the bigger house but can confirm that the newly refurbished little cottage is lovely! Everything you could possibly think of is provided, very clean, and seems almost new. The views are superb across the bay, and its wonderfully located within easy reach of everything. We plan to go again next year (and possibly the year after too)!

Great place, location and convenient if you want to cook at home to save eating out all the time. Trader Joe's, cafes and other stores a short drive away. The kitchen was fantastic and had everything you'd need to cook up a meal. An added bonus was HBO on cable! This was like a home away from home and made our stay in San Diego very enjoyable.

Just wanted to let you know that we had a great time in San Diego. The house was everything that you described and more. We loved it! We wish that we had more time to take advantage of all of the property.
The restaurant recommendations were also wonderful.
We have rented vacation condos/homes a couple of times in the past but nothing was as nice or so well equiped as yours. You really have a delightful place there and we enjoyed it a great deal...wish we had more time there. You even arranged the most perfect weather!
Thanks again. We hope to be back -

We enjoyed cooking, the use of BBQ and patio. The view, park and location were wonderful. We enjoyed riding bikes daily. We are already telling our frineds about the house.

During our vacation, we didn't see any other area we would rather stay in. The location was quiet, and WONDERFUL, and the house was BEAUTIFUL!! I already recommended it to my family. We stayed with a 4 and 7 yr old, and it worked out great for them to each have their own bedroom. The fresh fish we cooked at the house beat any restaurant meal we had, and the price was much less, and the atmosphere was much more relaxed with the kids!
The Sea World fireworks every night were great! The view of the water and the park - day and night was lovely. The laundry facilities were very handy. It was nice to be able to pull into the driveway with the car. We didn't even use the grill, or the bikes and beach stuff, or the nice back patio. We would return to this property in a heartbeat!! -

We had a marvelous 5 night stay in April 2010. The house was clean, comfortable, beautiful, well equipped and wonderfully located. The park, bike path and Misson Bay were right outside the front door. The house has a front porch as well as a lovely and very private, back patio. We were a short 5 minute drive to many wonderful restaurants in Pacific Beach. The Sea World fireworks were a delight at 9PM nightly. A short drive to La Jolla, and to Balboa Park, this home offers an ideal location. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for independence, convenience, comfort and central location in a residential neighborhood.

Left on 04/06/2010 for a stay in March 2010
Nothing is lacking in this property - front porch with grill, quiet backyard area with umbrella and tables, huge open kitchen with all utensils, full dining room, w/d, bikes and beach chairs. Moreover, it is obvious that the people who have stayed here before have class and appreciate the house, for they leave behind their spices and candles (for example). The manager is professional, efficient and a pleasure to deal with.

Thanks for the great review. We try hard to keep things nice for our guests and WE actually provide the spices and even keep them updated so they are not stale. We know that our guests sometimes like to cook and we don't want them to have to outfit the entire kitchen to cook a simple meal.

Left on 02/24/2010 for a stay in February 2010
My husband and I stayed in this house for a week with our son and daughter, who are 25 & 26. It was perfect for us, with 2 baths, 3 bedrooms and a large, complete kitchen for homecooking.
Since we are scattered over the country, it was a wonderful location (we missed 2 huge snowstorms in the east as we were riding bikes on the boardwalk in San Diego!)
The house is spotless, nicely decorated and has very comfortable beds. The open floorplan allows conversation to flow freely.
After visiting the beaches, parks,& museums, it was great to have a home to come back to, a place to hang out as a family, to take a nap or bake cookies,to watch TV, or people-watch from the front deck...the park across the street is active with runners, rollerbladers, and bicyclists.
We had everything we needed or could need, except a basketball for the park. Next time we'll go in the summer, when we'll just need a beach ball. -

Althoughh we rented the smaller property to the side of the main house, due to a problem with the water we were moved into the main, larger property.
Any problems were quickly sorted and the next door neighbours very helpful and friendly. The house is superb with all amenities you could wish for. a bit of a wlak to the nearest restaurants but very handy for the walkway/cycle way around the bay.k the smaller propery might have been a bit dark and not much opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.Response from Susan P. - 11/24/2009
Owner
Thanks for your nice review. Because we are in a neighborhood of homeowners rather than a vacation rental area, there are only a few restaurants and delis within walking distance of the house. There are many restaurants within a short drive, a mile or two away. Because of their late arrival, our guests didn't realize that the 1 bedroom with cathedral ceilings has skylights all over, making it light and cheery even when the shades are drawn and includes its own private patio with bay view.

What an incredible time we had in San Diego! I have always stayed in hotels before, but never again. This home was so comfortable, Suzie thought of everything. We biked around the bay, barbequed with friends on the porch, enjoyed fireworks, and the beds were so comfortable, I can't remember when I have slept so well. And what a view! Definitely a 5 star experience!

This is a perfect vacation home. We loved every minute of it. We biked all along the bay...exercise in the sun. The home is immaculate and bright. Everything you could want or need is there. We cooked a lot and all tools were available. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, watching the world go by with a gorgeous view. The only bad part was that we had to leave when vacation was over:( Thank you.

The nicest surprise for us was fire works everynight on the front deck! There are bikes and boggie boards in the garage. We had a great time riding our bikes to the ocean everyday.
The inside of the house is very comfortable and homey. The kitchen is functional and they actually have great cookware. The fireplace and the hand tiled shower is unbelievable.
Its a perfect place to get away and relax. Its a perfect location as it faces the bay and its just a bike ride to the ocean.
I highly recommended this secret spot.

Convenient location-close to all attractions, Sea World, Zoo, etc. Susan was extremely helpful and she has seen to it that all of your needs are met when you stay there, including bikes and beach gear! The one bedroom cottage in the back is cute & cozy for a couple or small family. It is right across the street from Mission Bay and there is a nice park & beach within walking distance. Great place to stay & enjoy the lovely beaches and year-round good weather!

On two occasions we have rented the main house and the cottage for our immediate family: 3 couples and 2 young children. We love the large open concept space and ease with which we are able to prepare meals together and relax in a child friendly environment. The park, playground and lagoon beach across the way are great amenities and we enjoyed nice walks through the residential area. The owner is very obliging in answering questions, arranging for access, allowing us the use of bikes, etc. Very convenient location - near the ocean, Sea World, downtown San Diego.
