The Crown Point neighborhood of Pacific Beach is one of the nicest areas in all of San Diego. It is a very upscale residential neighborhood that has water, beaches, parks and recreation areas on 3 sides of the peninsula. Every water sport imaginable is available for your enjoyment. There is always something happening at Crown Point Shores from the Crew Classic rowing competition, Thunder Boat Regatta Unlimited Hydroplane Racing, Water Skiing, Sailing, OTL Over the line tournament, Rock and Roll Marathon, Fishing, Sea World fireworks every night in the Summer, or just enjoying a relaxing day at the beach.

What a great place to spend Christmas. The house, as the previous reviewer states, is actually better than the website would lead you to believe. It's very spacious, with a classy, understated beach theme that balances between feeling like you're at home and in a very different place at the same time.
There were 10 in my group, 6 adults and 4 teenagers and everyone seemed to very much enjoy themselves. Those with too much energy were up early and out riding the bikes (that come with the house) out along the beach trail that is a lot closer than I had thought. Those of us that are lazier found the beds very accommodating for sleeping in late.
As a group we are very big into cooking and the kitchen was perfect for multiple people moving in and around preparing food. The living room is also very comfortable with a nice couch and a large TV that made for great movie watching in the evenings.
There is a small convenience store ~200 yards away, and restaurants not too far away. We would drive 5-10 minutes and try a different cuisine each time - the food there is great.
Of course the beaches near Crown Point were all great, and a couple of us took our fly-rods along and caught spotted bass just walking along the shoreline of the bay.
There is so much to see and do nearby that everyone had a blast no matter what their interests, from wine tours on the train and shopping, to fishing and exploring water-ways.
I'd recommend this house to anyone traveling in a group of 12 or less - more people could fit but you would be making up beds all over the open floor spaces. If/when we travel to San Diego again I will change my other travel arrangements just to stay at this house again.
Oh, and Eric and Yvonne were great to work with - they were very quick to answer any questions and while they left us to ourselves we knew that they were but a phone call away and would help in any way they could. -

I rented this beach house for my family to stay in for a week in June 2011. The house is fantastic!! First of all, it is exactly as it is presented on the website...but better! The house is in excellent shape, all of the bedrooms had great linens, the house was very clean. There are more then enough extra towels (we had 6 people), and many beach towels. The beach cruisers were great! what a nice extra. The kitchen has everything you could ever need to cook, the grill on the patio is also a great touch. There is seriously nothing lacking in this house. Now, the location...Amazing! so close to the beach on the bay side, Rocky's bar and Big Kanhuna burger are a short walk, Sea World is literally 5 minutes by car. You could get away without having a car, but we had a 5 year old with us, so driving was just easier. Pacific Beach is maybe a 5-10 minute drive, many shops, bars, restaurants, everything you could possibly need. I have rented vacation homes in many cities in the us and some in Europe, and this beach house was at the very top on all categories. The location alone is worth it, but the house was so nice! 2 living rooms so you can spread out and watch tv, the patio out back was great for dinners, the beds were so comfy, bathrooms were both very nice...I could go on and on! You will not be disappointed with this rental...the landlords make it all so easy to book and enjoy your vacation. My family could not have had a better stay in San Diego.
