Casa Grande is a family friendly residence boasting a 500 sq ft ocean view deck, large enclosed yard, three spacious bedrooms, two baths, and fully equipped kitchen located in coveted North Pacific Beach, one of San Diego's premier surfing beaches.

Casa Grande was renovated in 2012 and 2013 and includes new living room furnishings (Tommy Bahama style), renovated master and main bath, and completely new kitchen.

A coin-operated washer and dryer are available.

Casa Grande is the entire downstairs residence of this two unit duplex. The owner uses the upstairs for an office and on rare occasion is in residence, so the tenants... have privacy and little if any noise from the upstairs.

The property easily accomodates two families (ie, two couples and two children or a family composed of grandparents, children and grandchildren). Off season, couples often come for longer periods of times.

The residence is located in North Pacific Beach, a beach area known primarily by locals. Guests can walk to the beach in about three minutes...just around the corner. The beach is a very popular surfing and kite surfing beach with designated swimming and boogie boarding areas. Entertainment, restaurants, and shopping are all found on the boardwalk and up Pacific Beach's main avenues, all within walking or bike riding distance.

Not situated right on the beach but rather in a two block area with large residential beach homes, guests are not bothered by noisy partying groups or restaurant/bar patrons. The neighborhood is coveted by locals wanting a calmer family friendly area. The beach is just around one corner, where you can walk miles and miles along the boardwalk or on the beach itself. The boardwalk is good for bike riding down to the jetty and around to the bay.

The owner takes great pride in providing an exceptionally clean residence that is well equipped and well maintained. There is even an outdoor hot and cold shower and changing area as well as beach cruisers (bikes), boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and beach toys.

www.casitasdelmar.com is a 10-15 minute drive to La Jolla, Old Town, Sea World, and malls (shopping centers) and about a 20 minute drive to the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Convention Center, Little Italy, and the Gaslamp Quarter.

Casitas del Mar is located in a family friendly North Pacific Beach area. This beach is a local beach primarily known to locals and surfers. It is away from the crowded Mission Beach area. The boardwalk ends where our beach begins, so if you want to ride our bikes or walk on the boardwalk to restaurants and entertainment, you have about 3 miles of boardwalk to meander down.

  We stayed here with our 2 daughters and it was just perfect! The house had everything we could have asked for - including a small bike for our 4 year old and a bike child seat for the 2 year old. We rode the bikes many times along the boardwalk which brings me to the next point: the location is fantastic! It's about a 3 minute walk down to the beach and to the beginning of the boardwalk. Everything else is just a short drive away.
  
  On the day of our arrival, Pam even brought down many toys that our daughters enjoyed playing with during our stay.
  
  Other great things about the place: the large enclosed yard, outdoor shower, huge deck, boogie boards, wet suits, beach toys, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor grill bunk bed for the kids, etc etc... It was just perfect and we can't wait to go again!

  Fantastic kid-friendly vacation rental right near the beach!

  I went into my vacation rental search with several criteria to make for a fun trip for my husband, myself, and our 2-year-old twins and Casitas Del Mar met all of them and more! They had an enclosed back yard, and also a large enclosed porch for the kids to get outside with minimal supervision needed. There are 3 good-sized bedrooms so that we could put them down in one room and still enjoy our time together without bothering them. Pam even had 2 pack-and-plays for them to sleep in! During nap time we would sit on the porch, read, drink wine and eat cheese and listen to the ocean, which was just a block away. It actually felt like a vacation to us too, which is really saying something. Pam has a garage full of fun beach toys and we found plenty to do. All for about the same price as a hotel room. If you're looking for a great place to stay in San Diego, put this on your list to check out further! One other tip if you have small kids -- check out the 3-for-1 park hopper pass that gets you unlimited visits to Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Safari Park for a week. Great for short visits when you're beholden to nap times. And, if your kids are under 3, they are free for all 3 parks!

  Our experience at Dixie Drive surpassed our expectations. All representations by Ms Ellis were accurate - the entire transaction was handled very professionally.
  The house and the location are immaculate. It was a short three minute walk to the beach - we could hear the wonderful surf sounds clearly on the deck (an all night long by leaving the door slightly open). It was very spacious for our family of five - with big back yard - and gigantic front deck.
  Neighborhood was very respectable - no night loudness or party sounds - though great restaurants and bars are a short ten minute walk away.
  Kitchen facilities were spotless. Bathrooms (two, one in master BR) were great. Common living area with flat screen TV was sunny and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable (coming from a back surgery visitor).
  Most importantly - Ms Ellis was a non-intrusive host. She was present for three of the seven days of our visit - but we hardly knew she was there. We said a pleasant hello in the driveway - but she was very thoughtful about providing us total privacy - even though we were neighbors.
  In summary - fantastic value in fantastic location. We hope to return.

  So much more than a rental house, it's a home!

  My husband and I have rented many vacation homes and
  have never before found one that even comes close to
  the quality offered at Casa Grande. Pam has
  outfitted this house so comfortably, and with
  everything anyone could ever need, that we truly do
  think of it as our 2nd home.
  We have returned year after year to enjoy the
  peaceful backyard and sun terrace, as well as the
  chaos and excitement of the beach and boardwalk
  nearby. Our favourite activity is riding the
  bicycles on the boardwalk.
  We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

  Also, FYI, Time Warner came out for several hours and "undid" what the last workman had done to fix internet access. Now, I think wifi is working better.

  "Casitas del Mar - We struck gold when we found this place on the internet, it's tastefully supplied with everything right down to the bikes and beach gear. We've seen many major upgrades to this choice property in the past six years and anyone would be more than comfortable staying here.
