Originally built in 1918, this Craftsman Bungalow is located in a highly sought after neighborhood in 'Banker's Hill'. The Nest is within walking distance to a multitude of restaurants, coffee shops, sushi and wine bars, a known bakery, movie theatre, farmer's market and multiple social gathering places in the Hillcrest area. With wonderful Balboa Park, The Old Golbe, SD Zoo, 2 major Hospitals, Downtown, Old Town, Th...e Embarcadaro and 2 major hospitals all just a short walk or drive away, you may never leave the area. If you do, it's merely 1 block from the busline, but without the sound. This home has too many features to list; it is definately a must-see.

We're situated on a comer lot with connected private yards (including stone fireplace) off the bedrooms & kitchen. There are hardwood floors throughout, period lighting, original built-in bookcases, leaded glass windows, picture rail, central A/C, slate flooring in the laundry and a separate breakfast nook. The Master Suite includes a jacuzzi tub, hexagon tiles, wainscoting, a walk-in cedar closet and double french doors opening to the patio. The kitchen was tastefully remodeled with Butcher Block counter tops, a marble kneading board, Sub-Zero refrigerator, professional series Viking range and hood, a farmhouse sink, Fischer and Paykel dishwashing drawer and recessed lighting.

  Came across this home and fell in love. We arrived to near perfect weather, walked into this beautiful bungalow thinking this is paradise! My co-worker and I wanted our spouses to come along. This was the perfect place to stay! It allowed our husbands to relax and not feel like they were locked into a hotel room. Everyone slept like a baby! They took the bikes to the zoo and museums. It was a win, win situation. It is a warm and comfortable place to stay! Loved the kitchen!

  Beautiful home, but... When we rented, the Vrbo web page said this place had 2 queen beds. Since the picture labeled: "2nd Bedroom with seperate outdoor seating" seemed to show a smaller bed I called the manager to confirm and was clearly told it was a queen bed. In fact I was told that wasn't the picture of the second master. Christmas eve we arrived and found it had only a "full/double sized" bed in the small second bedroom. Given it was a family holiday we struggled with it a for couple days and then left early. When we complained to the manager, she claimed that she would have delivered us a new bed (on Christmas eve) if we had asked and refused to make any financial concessions. I'll note that it would be very hard to fit a queen bed in that small second bedroom, the headboard of the double bed barely fit between the door and the wall. Also, after more than 30 days we have not received the deposit check back (although the manager did not cash it) and I had to cancel it with the bank. The dishwasher was also broken during out stay, hopefully the manager fixes this for the next renter.
  I also don't see how this place could sleep 7 (as advertized on Vbro). In my opinion you can put two people in the master bedroom, 1 person in the guest bedroom comfortably (or a couple that doesn't mind only a double bed), and one person on the twin bed in the living room. That's 4-5 people by my count.
  This is a beautiful home, but it should have been represented correctly and honestly to us. And the manager failed to make any concessions for our troubles and failed to return the deposit check as she said she would (She did not cash it but she said she would return it back.)
  If you are a couple with a child or guest, this is a great place for 3 people. But don't expect luxurious accommodations for 2 couples, because you won't get it.
