I stayed in this property in June and was just checking availability for Thanksgiving when I came across Jen's review and wanted to provide people with my experience since it seems to have been the exact opposite.
To start, the rental is actually nicer than the pictures suggest. Everything was very clean upon arrival. Bathrooms, bedrooms, living space and the kitchen all seemed to be brand new or recently upgraded. In regard to her comment about the plates and cups, I'm not really sure what she was expecting. Fine china? In my family, we care more about the meal and the company than the plates and utensils.
It's in a great location, steps from the beach. Not once was I kept awake by drunk people walking home at night.
I never write reviews but felt that Jen's experience was so different from mine that I didn't want others to miss out on the great time I had with my family when we went to visit. I think my excitement about going back for Thanksgiving speaks for itself.Response from 710 Beach Rentals - 11/08/2012

Stayed at this amazing vacation rental over Summer 2012 and loved every minute of it. The home is the largest 4 bedroom I've stayed in while visiting Mission Beach (I've vacationed there for the past 8 years now) and let me tell you, I would certainly come back. The owner didn't leave any detail out when constructing this home, tiled floors, large and comfortable beds, an amazing top deck with views of the bay, natural gas BBQ, and even a 6-seater dining room table (hard to come by at the beach). The kitchen is superb with two sinks, and everything you'll need to cook for your clan. It has a 2 car garage with ample space to fit bikes and beach toys. It's located in the hear of South Mission Beach, safe for my kids, walking distance to local food joints, and just a brief stroll to Belmont Park. I would highly recommend, it is clean, safe, and spacious... what more could you ask for?

If you need the bare bones minimum, this place is for you. While everything looks like a million bucks, it really is not. If you plan to cook with your family or guests, you might want to bring basic cooking utensils such as a spatula and cookie sheet. Expect mismatched, chipped and worn out plates and plastic cups. If more then about 4 people want to sit in the main living space, then bring some extra chairs. The couch is worn out, torn and lumpy. If you don't mind staying up late at night listening to drunk loud people walking home, then stay here. I will say the location to the beach is great. Easy walking distance. It does have a lovely balcony to sit on as long as there is only 4 people in your party.

There is little we can do about public foot traffic and are very clear about the location of the home. Mission Beach is a lively neighborhood, especially in the Summer months.
