This unique property boasts 2 separate homes on one big lot just 3 blocks to gorgeous beaches. There is a 2 bedroom spanish house in the front, a 2 bedroom apartment on top of the garage in the back, and even a vintage airstream with its own bathroom- tons of space and options to meet your families needs. Perfect for wedding parties, family reunions, and just kicking it beach side.

Ocean beach is A bohemian walking paradise in a charming beachfront community full of eclectic charm. 10 minutes to downtown on major bus routes, convenient to all freeways in a safe neighborhood just two blocks from the hustle of the main shopping area.

... 3 parking spots ( trust me that's rare in this area!) with two private yards great for grilling and relaxing. Hammock, vintage preway fireplace, multiple seating areas, and charming decor. Outdoor shower perfect for cooling off after a day at the beach.

Full kitchen with all utensils, all beach towels, linens included. Feel free to borrow one of our bikes, surfboards and we are happy to arrange anything else to make your trip more memorable.

Front house features Two queen beds , and one pull out full sofa bed in the living room to draw straws on. There is also a trundle bed that are two twins that would be perfect for kids.

Back Apartment features: One queen and two twin beds, private kitchen

Just two blocks from Dog beach, surfing and sunset cliffs. Walk down to the popular Newport Avenue, boasting everything from Antique Shops to some of our favorite restaurants, as well as a great farmers market on Wednesdays. Great dive bars and tacos await!

Please note that like much of greater downtown area, we are on flight path. Although it is convenient to have our airport downtown, it makes a lot of san diegos urban areas on the flight path and some people may notice it, some people may not.

Visit our neighborhood park, Robb Field- a recreation complex with multiple tennis, basketball and handball court. It also has a fitness gym, lighted softball and multi-purpose fields, playground area for kids, and acres of wide open grass with picnic tables and shade trees.

Just one mile from the Ocean Beach pier, the second longest pier in California. It’s an amazing, panoramic location from which to drop a fishing line (no license needed), take a romantic stroll, or grab a burger and a beer at the OB Pier Café.

Be sure to visit the Tide pools at sunset cliffs , one of the most beautiful locations in the world, named after its amazing sunsets. Take a leisurely stroll down to sea level and explore the magic and the mystery of the tide pools at low tide.

ATTRACTIONS WITHIN DRIVING DISTANCE

10 MINUTES – is all the driving time you need to visit Sea World, Seaport Village, Historic Old Town, Downtown San Diego and the historic Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego Convention Center, Little Italy, Maritime Museums, Petco Park (Padres stadium), and San Diego’s main airport, Lindbergh field.

20 MINUTES – to San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and Museums, Torrey Pines Golf Course, five outdoor shopping malls, Qualcomm stadium (Chargers), Coronado Island and the historic Hotel Del Coronado, Cabrillo National Monument and Lighthouse.

30 MINUTES - to Tijuana and the Mexico border, Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds, Several Indian gaming casinos, Legoland, etc.

  We hired the vintage spanish gem cottage & the separate apartment for our stay as we had my parents and a friend travelling with us plus our 2 young children.
  Helene was welcoming and generously brought us some extra grocery items upon our arrival.
  We adored the colorful touches that have been incorporated into both the cottage and the apartment. They really add to the fun feel of the place and have been done with flair.
  The location is wonderful
  - few minutes walk to OB pier
  - 5-10mins drive to Seaworld
  - 10-15mins to the zoo
  - 5 min walk to the heart of OB
  - A great farmers market type store (people's market)within a 2 min walk where you can get healthy wholesome hot meals upstairs. (shuts at 9pm most nights I think)
  There is an extra day-bed and a rollaway bed in a small room off the kitchen in the cottage which was perfect for the kids. This is in addition to the 2 main bedrooms in the cottage.
  The shower was great - something we really appreciated after being on the road for a while.
  The apartment was very funky and fun and my parents loved being up there.
  We had a great stay and would recommend for sure.

  An absolute Diamond on The Beach!

  This place is super cute, with an un-matched style that perfectly compliments the bohemian beach town of Ocean Beach. After so many generic cookie-cutter hotel stays, it is a relief to stay somewhere with soul. Helene and Preston were a treat to work with, and really went above and beyond in making sure my stay was special. The property is huge, with a big yard area for barbeque parties, and is close to the beach. Everything was super clean and I kept discovering charming new books, artifacts, art, and architecture behind every door and around every corner on the property, even after days of stay.

  I stayed at Helene and Preston's beach house in august and had an amazing time. Its located in a quintissential California beach town, where you can walk to everything: a gorgeous beach, great restaurants, shops and bars. Helene and Preston have added their touch to every room in the house. The house is super comfortable and really stylish at the same time. Also, they made us feel really at home by leaving a welcome note and lots of information on fun things to do in the area - plus coffee, tea, and all the essentials. Cant wait to go back!
