The apartment forms part of an elegant and prestigious country resort located in the Florentine hills, just 12 km from Florence in the village of San Donato in Collina (Bagno a Ripoli), in a dominant position, offering breathtaking views over the surrounding valley and country...side.
Once a thirteenth century manor house, this ancient building has been sympathetically restored to its original splendour thanks to a meticulous renovation programme using traditional building techniques. A luxury resort has therefore been created, comprising 7 exclusive apartments which are superior in quality to even the most elegant and prestigious hotels within Florence and indeed Tuscany. Superbly furnished, stylish and full of charm, this unique resort is the perfect choice for those seeking a luxury holiday in total peace and tranquility, and for those who wish to immerse themselves in history and experience a flavour of the authentic Tuscan lifestyle in a truly historic setting. This charming country resort nestles in a beautiful 10,000 sq. metre estate bordering a chestnut and oak wood forest, and provides the utmost privacy. The complex comprises seven exclusive suites: five comprising one bedroom and two comprising two bedrooms. Each apartment not only offers guests all the modern comforts but has been uniquely furnished, echoing the elegantly refined Tuscan style. Furthermore, throughout the summer guests can take advantage of the fabulous swimming pool with waterfall and Jacuzzi tub.
Internal Description:
Casa il Filo is approximately 55 m² and is located on the upper floor of the tower. It consists of a spacious living room with fireplace, a dining table and a sofa bed (120 cm x 190 cm), a kitchenette, a master bedroom and a bathroom with shower and a further sofa bed (120 cm X 190 cm wide) on the mezzanine. It is an ideal apartment for a couple or perhaps a couple with an older child or indeed two smaller children who would occupy the sofa bed. The Casa il Filo and Casa Sant'Ambrogio apartments can be combined to offer larger accommodation suited to couples or families. For more information please contact a member of our staff. All apartments are elegantly furnished and benefit from electronic card access, state of the art home automation system for overall management of the apartment, air conditioning, heating, telephone, LCD TV (in the bedroom 32”, and 42” in the living room) with Sky cinema and Sky pay TV. A home theatre system with DVD and CD player is provided, together with free wi-fi internet hotspot, safe, kitchenette (dishwasher and fridge, microwave oven, coffee and tea maker), a bathroom with shower, hair dryer, toiletries, bathrobe and slippers. Furthermore, historic charm exudes throughout the resort , thanks to the use of traditional materials incorporated in the renovation and construction techniques, and the choice of furnishings and interior décor used. Impruneta terracotta floors, locally quarried sandstone from Firenzuola, solid chestnut and cypress wood beams and traditional lime plastered walls endow each of the apartments with a unique and enchanting atmosphere.
Our opinion:
Nice and cosy apartment perfect for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. The apartment is located in a villa with other 6 properties that share the external area and the nice swimming-pool with heated jacuzzi. Very recommendable for a quiet holiday and to visit Florence and many other interesting Tuscan places.
The property can only be booked from Saturday to Saturday. Shorter stays are possible on request.
