Description from the owner
Our Place: This is a one-room apartment on the first story of our house. It's totally private with it's own entrance 10 steps up from the street. A lot of thought went into creating The Secret Lounge as we wanted a private space that our parents could stay in when they visit their grand-children. In the times between visits, we are open to renting it out as we are avid travelers and always like to stay off the beaten path and enjoy meeting like-minded people.
We love San Francisco and we love our neighborhood, The Mission, with its great weather, fabulous food and incredible culture. We're happy to share it with you.

Australiagreat location and comfort
Left on 12/22/2011 for a stay in December 2011
This apartment in Noe Valley was perfect for a family with two kids. It was neatly furnished and clean. There were ample amenities. The J Church line was 1 minute walk away making public transport a breeze to use. David was very easy to deal with and very accommodating. Parking is a little tricky, the street has 2 hr parking only, but there are nearby streets where you might find a carpark. Very good value for money. Location was fabulous- very easy to get to downtown, and nearby to Castro district. 10 minutes walk up the street and we were in the hub of Noe Valley shops and dining precinct. Lovely stay. Thanks David.

We were lucky enough to have this apartment available for our planned vacation in SF.
It is very well located in the Noe valley area - and by well I mean you have everything you need in a walking distance: cofeeshops, restaurants, wholefoods, kids playgrounds, amazing viewpoints, and of course a tram station (1 block away) :)
The apartment itself is super clean, and very well equipped with everything you might need. As for the neighborhood, it's very quiet and friendly. Smiling faces, cheerful kids and cordial residents are what you'll commonly see around you.
The owners were more than helpful, and quickly supplied us a pack-n-play crib, (instead the infant crib we mistakably requested) on our very first day there.
To sum it up - this will definetly be our first choice when we visit SF again! -

I stayed in this apartment with my boyfriend and another couple and it was absolutley perfect!!! We felt like 'locals', rather than tourists, and it all added to the experience. The apt has easy access to Fishermans wharf where you can see all the tourist sights, which we did. However the highlight was exploring the neighbourhood - sampling real american bars, hanging out a Dolores park with amazing sky line views, and eating at Valencia st - all within walking distance. Highly recommended!!!

ChicagoMore than a place to sleep.
Left on 06/26/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Our rental experience was more than a place to sleep at night, but was an excellent home base with everything needed to move right in and live in San Francisco. Traveling around on public transportation was easy and accessible and the surrounding neighborhood was great with restaurants, shops, and more. I felt like we moved in for a week and became part of the city, rather than being just visiting tourist. I would rent here again in a heart beat.

We loved it - a great base from which to explore the city. The only down side is the parking situation, but that is a very minor inconvenience. We felt totally at home and enjoyed wandering around the neighbourhood in the evenings.
The service provided by the owners is second-to-none - no hassle, and we found the apartment spotlessly clean and ready for our arrival from the UK. I would strongly recommend this property if you like home comforts, and like to have your own kitchen facilities etc. All in all - almost perfect! -

San FranciscoCozy, Clean & Great Location

My husband and I stayed for six weeks in this vacation rental right after moving from Seattle to San Francisco. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay from an original four weeks to six weeks.
The owners are fantastic and were very responsive on the one occasion that we had a question about the apartment. They also supplied us with restaurant and shopping recommendations in the area. They've also decorated the unit with really nice artwork, so it feels very personal, not corporate or hotelish.
We drove up to the apartment late at night after a long drive from Portland. It couldn't have been easier to get into the unit and we immediately felt at home. The kitchen is very well stocked with cookware, utensils, etc. The bedrooms are very comfortable and we also really appreciated the washer/dryer in the unit.
The neighborhood is great -- a quiet street that is walking distance from the heart of Noe Valley and a very nice part of the Mission. We loved the area and miss it since finding our permanent apartment in a different part of the city.
Overall, this would be a great place to stay for a couple, two couples, or a couple with a child. We felt right at home and fully enjoyed our stay. -

Left on 06/14/2011 for a stay in April 2011
I rented the appartment for one week with my wife and 2 kids. The appartment is not huge but large enough for a family. It was very clean and well equipped and also very warm. The location is great, not too far from the Mission, not too far from Now Vally and an easy Muni ride away from downtown. Best of all, there is actually parking in the street. highly recommended.

San FranciscoOur first flat in SF
Left on 02/09/2011 for a stay in September 2010
We relocated to San Francisco last September and looked for a furnished place to stay in for a couple of months. David's place was perfect to just drop our suitcases, not worry about anything, and start enjoying our new city.
Location is great in a quiet street of Noe Valley but only a couple blocks away from 24th street (great daily shopping) Valencia (the arty street) and the Mission (the place to go out).
Flat is big enough for a family with 2 nice bedrooms, very clean and sunny, with lots of storage, a bath, and anything you could need (but a dish washer, although we have discovered since then you hardly find them in any flat here). It is also well decorated, with lots of small pieces of arts that made us feel like home.
David and his wife, as well as the neighbor below, were always of great help.
When our friends come in town for a visit, that is the place I will recommend them to stay. -

This is a lovely apartment, we would definitely stay again. Quiet and very well located, we stayed for 3 weeks and found it delightful. Walking distance to shops, a flat walk at that!, and a short walk to the J Line takes you into San Francisco and all the connecting rails to go anywhere in the metro region. We didn't have a car and found it easy to move around. Check out the Muni pass carefully, it worked out more expensive for us as it doesn't include Oakland or the airport.
