Description from the owner

Our garden unit was completely remodeled in the summer of 2011. It has a full kitchen with a five burner gas Bosch cook-top and combination microwave, convection, vent just above the cook-top. The refrigerator/freezer has a smaller profile to accommodate kitchen layout but is more than you’ll need for a few days or even a month. The kitchen is fully stocked with a full set of Calphalon stainless pans, a full set of knives and all the dishes and glasses you’d need to host a small dinner party in the garden on your visit.

The living room has a brand new 32 inch flat screened HDTV with a full stereo and DVD player. The TV has pr...Read more

What a find! Would definitely stay again.

Left on 02/13/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We had a great stay at this apartment. It is very well proportioned and cleanly decorated as the photos showed. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with utensils and equipment. The wifi is super fast and reliable. You can walk into the market street area within one hour at a leisurely pace and there are at least 3 muni bus lines which bring you back close to the apartment. We were a little surprised by the floor noise from the upstairs apartment on one night, but this was quickly and professionally sorted by the owner and was never an issue again and new rugs are due to be put in place which I am sure will help further. There is another property at the bottom of patio area - the owners are very friendly and also welcoming. It might be nice to have blinds along the back/side of the property to allow higher privacy at night when the lights are on, but not really a major issue. Overall this was very comfortable and strengthens my view that avoiding hotels if possible is the way forward!! We would definitely stay here again.

      Superb experience

Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The apartment was exactly as pictured, super comfortable and very quiet. Cecilia spent the time to help us get a temp parking permit, which allowed us to park the car and explore the city. I would recommend this apartment anytime.

      Miles better than a Hotel

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 8 nights and this apartment was a wonderful base for our San Fran trip. It is easy to get around on the bus, just get a muni pass and a map and off you go. Some really nice places to eat nearby such as Ellas and also Mollie Stones the grocery stone is excellent for all the apartment essentials. Japantown is a 10 minute walk in you fancy sushi. I much preferrred staying here rather than a hotel due to the space and comfort and the cost, good value for money. The owner is very accomodating, I had to get my drivers licence fexed and she was helpful during the whole process. We would definitely stay here again if returning to San Fran!

Perfect apartment for feeling like home

Left on 05/11/2012 for a stay in April 2012

This was the perfect apartment for our 1 week stay in San Francisco. We were in the city for 1 week and wanted a quiet, low-key base from which to explore the city on foot. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood very convenient to transit. Literally different bus options in every direction within 1-3 short blocks. We had never been to San Francisco before, so picking neighborhoods really came down to the pictures. We were very happy with this central location choice. We even made new friends of the couple who moved in next door during our stay.

The apartment is well designed to feel like home. The living room, kitchen and bedroom are successfully decorated to feel like cozy & completely separate rooms...even though it is not really that big (coming from someone with a 6 bedroom house). The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook or to bring back take-out. Wifi worked perfectly and allowed us to plan each day's adventures. Excellent shower with spotless tile, glass door, and strong water pressure.

This was so much better than a hotel. We felt like we really lived there. The owner's information was clear and straight-forward. The payment process was completely online and she answered questions clearly and quickly.

A feather bed or a mattress topper would be the only thing I would want to add to this great apartment. The mattress was very firm and we were not used to that. Nonetheless, a great experience.

      Fantastic for our little family

Left on 04/21/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We rented this apartment for a four night stay, in March, while doing the tourist thing and visiting friends. The owner was helpful and answered all our questions regarding the unit's ability to cope with our toddler. She was extremely accommodating and we felt like we had a home away from home for the duration of our visit.

The location is perfect for those wanting to avoid the craziness and expensive parking fees of the Wharf or Union Square. We found good food nearby with no trouble and cooked a few meals "at home" with supplies from the local grocery stores.

With a bit of DIY babyproofing by the guests, we'd definitely recommend this unit to any couples or small families looking for a peaceful place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing or work.

Note: Parking was not an issue, despite permit-only hours. We were out and about during the permit hours of 10am-6pm and the furthest we had to park was 3 or so blocks away. Unless staying for a great length of time, the temporary permit is not worth the hassle.

      Perfect Rental for 2!

Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012

The property was exactly as advertised plus more! It was well stocked with kitchen appliances, plates, silverware, bathroom supplies, toiletries, etc. Very comfy bed!! Plenty of closet space to store your clothes too!

Location was very safe, about a $10-15 cab ride to any of the main points in the city (Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, etc). There was also a bus ($2) nearby that we caught on California St. There is also a cable car on California St that you can take into town for $6.

Lots of great restaurants nearby (I recommend Ella's for breakfast!)

Only downfalls were that the upstairs neighbors were a little noisy and we weren't allowed to keep our bags in the garage upon checkout (even though we agreed on an early checkout to accommodate the next round of guests). Left a little bit of a bad taste in our mouth b/c it caused some inconvenience, but it was overall an amazing apartment and I would definitely recommend it.

      Relaxing and Quit

Left on 01/16/2012 for a stay in December 2011

Great location for a couple that did not want to be in a tourist location but wanted to do touristy things during the day. The neighborhood has a perfect bay area feel, everyone was friendly and made me feel at home. A fully furnished apartment like this one is the way to go.

Best all around value in Pacific Heights!

Left on 12/08/2011 for a stay in August 2011

I stayed for a week in august. I live in San Francisco but due to some unexpected work on my home I needed a place to hang my hat. I was surprised by the homey atmosphere, the well equipped kitchen, the comfortable bed and the nice view of the garden. The location is good; it's a quick walk to Starbucks, Fillmore Street and the 1 California bus takes you downtown in 15 minutes. The next time my family comes to town I will definitely renting this apartment for them.

      Quiet Retreat Close to Everything

Left on 11/29/2011 for a stay in October 2011

I just returned from a lovely stay in this garden apartment in San Francisco. It was clean, well appointed and had easy access to great food and quick transportation.

The owner was very friendly and had lots of good suggestions for food and "local" places.

The apartment was fabulous. It is a ground floor unit that opens to a quiet back yard. It's in a typical San Francisco neighborhood with lots of Victorian character. Sparkling new kitchen and bath. Wow!

I can't think of a single thing that wasn't what I expected. If you are looking for a convenient and quiet place to stay in San Francisco, this is it!
