Another pleasant stay in San Francisco

Left on 04/25/2013 for a stay in April 2013

The apartment was pleasant and appropriate for our family. Our youngest loved the playpark in alamo Square, my husband and I did a jog in the nearby Panhandle every morning, and Golden Gate park wasn't far either, Moscone Centre a 30 min walk away or a direct busride. Having 2 bathrooms for the 5 of us was good. The very first night the neighbours upstairs were noisy, we could hear their conversation, but not a beep for the rest of the week. The apartment would benefit from a very thorough clean, it was clean enough on the surface, but nobody had dusted nor scrubbed in the corners or under furniture for many months. The beds were all comfortable and we slept well, but the bedclothes and sheets were looking a bit worn out. This was our second stay with Boutikia and I would definately book through them again.

Nice clean and simple flat, great to find a place in this price range with 3 queen beds and two full baths! Superb location, walk to Haight st shops, Divisadero restaraunts, and alamo square park, not to mention Hayes valley just beyond. The people from Boutikia were straightforward and accommodating. We would definitely stay again!

This three bedroom two bath condo came stored with everything we needed to sleep, cook, and shower. Kitchen worked well with nice sink, nice stove, and a dishwasher. Well stocked with cups, plates, pots and pans. In and out access was easy and convenient. The yard was beautiful. Will definitely stay again!

      Fantastic San Francisco Rental

Left on 08/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My family had an awesome time in this conveniently located rental. It was like being at home. The home was as described and could have accommodated more than the 4 adults in my entourage. The area had much to offer (transportation, corner markets, unique restaurants, parks, etc.

Sri with the Boutikia staff was so service oriented and made our stay most enjoyable. I would recommend them highly and will use their services again.

Excellent property - highly recommend alamo Central

Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Lovely property just as described. Very clean and well-stocked. Property was spacious and just right for our family of 5. Used a number lock system so all our teens could get in and we didn't have to pass a key around. In a nice area, easy walk to restraunts and night life, but quiet, upscale, friendly neighborhood. 1 block off bus-line so easy to get everywhere. I forgot my glasses and they found them and mailed them to me - great service!!! There are stairs (you are in San Francisco!) so not for those with limited mobility.

We would definitely book again with Boutikia!!

Left on 06/20/2012 for a stay in June 2012

This unit needs some major maintenance. I am surprised they can rent it out in it's current condition. There were outlet plugs hanging out of wall. The bedding is very old and worn. The blender is broken. It is a very old building so that being said it could be nice if it were stripped down and painted and finished correctly. Location was not ideal but not terrible. Alot of street noise at night.
The pictures looked good, but up close was not what we expected.

      Response from Boutikia - 07/06/2012

While it disappoints us to read this, we agree that we could make the place much nicer. Please be assured that we will act on this and go through the property to make it a nicer place to stay at.

Alamo Central is our budget friendly property and does not compare in amenities or quality with the other more expensive places we have. That said, we made improvement based on your feedback. All bedding have been replaced with brand new ones. We put in a new blender as well. We have also tightened up some of loose outlet plugs. Once there is sufficient open available time, we will also repaint the unit to make it fresh.

      Home away from home

Left on 06/01/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Our family of 6 adults and a newborn spent a wonderful 5 days at alamo Central. The unit is split bedroom style with 2 bedrooms at the front facing Fell Street (a busy and sometimes noisy road...take some earplugs), the kitchen and 2 bathrooms in the middle, and the 3rd bedroom and living room facing the back with a garden view and very quiet. The living room has 2 large couches (sofa-sleepers) and a chair & ottoman so there was ample seating for all of us to be in the living room visiting or watching a movie. We didn't feel cramped or crowded at all. Everyone loved the large walk-in shower with top & side shower heads. It was great to have the keypad lock so we all could come and go at will without worrying about taking a key. The kitchen was adequate and it was nice having a washer & dryer in the unit. We were able to pack light and go home with clean laundry. There are windows & natural light in every room, including the interior bathrooms and kitchen. We rented Boutikia's parking space a block away for the first 2 nights. We didn't have any problem finding free street parking the remainder of our time there but it was usually a block or two from the house. The gas station a couple of blocks away on Divisidero had the cheapest gas in SF according to my son's gas-finder smartphone app but it only takes cash or debit. You don't see a lot of gas stations around SF so it was nice to have one so close. We enjoyed morning walks and watching the sunset from alamo Park, just a block away. It was fun to explore the little shops and cafes in the neighborhood. There are several bus lines that run within 1-2 blocks of the unit. It's nice they don't go past the unit and add to the street noise. (The street noise was much worse during weekday rush hours than on weekends.) Both Sri & Jessica at Boutikia were very nice and easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay. It felt like home. I will definitely consider alamo Central and other Boutikia vacation rentals for future trips to SF.

      Fabulous Family Vacation !!

Left on 04/27/2012 for a stay in April 2012

Thank you very much Boutikia for an amazing location...we were in town for a family function and were 3 blocks from our family. The location is also very convenient to the downtown area.

We rented a large vehicle for our group and parking was a bit difficult...that's just city life though. I do recommend the public transportation, it was easy and not expensive at all. We took a taxi from Ghiradelli square and were charged $25..this I thought was ridiculous. I know the city well, and this cab driver was literally going in circles, beware, it is their profession and they will take advantage.

The flat was comfortable and spacious enough for our entire family. We were able to be as social as we wanted or were able to retreat to our own bedrooms for some privacy without being on top of each other. The only minor complaint I have was that the front bedroom had a very squeaky, creeky bed...this may need a little adjusting if you are a light sleeper as I am, it did keep me awake. Other than that, the flat was very well suited to our needs. We traveled with our elderly parents and they were extremely pleased and said they would use this property again for their next visit.

The staff at Boutikia were professional, polite and very efficient. We had a few lights that didn't work in the hall way and the agent sent over someone immediately. It took a little while to get them working but he was determined to find out the problem...turns out the bulbs were fine, it was the GFI switch in the bathroom that needed to be reset... who knew?? We had a good laugh and thanked him for his efforts.

We will definitely use your services afain for our next visit and thank you for the easy, no hassle way of doing business.

      Great Stay and Happy Renters

Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in December 2011

We had a wonderful 4 weeks stay at the alamo Central over the Christmas time. The location is excellent, the apartment is very cozy; and most of all the Boutikia people are very responsible and professional. We had a shaky start, partially our own fault (one of us turned off the heat without realizing the ordinary looking switch in the laundry room was the main switch for the furnace, as the result we were without heat for a long weekend over a cold spell); partially due to the fact that previous tenants and the cleaning crew did not give the management proper feedback ( the faucet in the second bathroom was broken and the cloth dryer was seriously clogged). Once we brought the problems to the management's attention, they were fixed speedily and properly.

The Boutikia people also did a very smart thing: not only they provided all sorts of provisions such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, laundry detergents, all sizes of trash bags, lots of towels, wash clothes,...etc; they did not throw out kitchen supplies left by previous people. As the result we did not have to purchase herbs, salt and pepper, cooking oil,...etc. For short term renters it is a bless.

We also got our full refund speedily. All in all I have very good impression of the Boutikia management and will most definitely rent from them again!

The only other thing that is worth mentioning is parking. There is no on-site parking. Most nights we had no problem finding parking near by, if we return before 9 PM. The alternate side street cleaning ordinance is strictly enforced. I did get a parking ticket due to a so called "lock wheel" law! In San Francisco when one parks one's car on a slope however gentle, just setting the emergency brake is not enough. One must turn the wheels the correct way against the curb!! So if you are like me from somewhere hills are not an issue, you run the risk of getting a steep fine!

Great apartment, Prime Location, Thanks Boutikia!

Left on 01/24/2011 for a stay in December 2010

The apartment was as described, completely exceeded expectation.
Many hazy, sunny mornings enjoyed in the capacious, private garden.
Great location, easy access to places of interest and public transport routes.
Even our local friends were amazed at the condition of the property and were rather jealous of the lovely garden.
All Local amenities within close proximity to property.
I would highly recommend this vacation rental and look forward to my next stay with Boutikia. A definitive "Home away from Home".
Boutikia ensured all check-in/out information was provided, a very personal service indeed considering we did not have to meet anyone with regards.

      Well-situated and comfortable stay !

Left on 04/19/2010 for a stay in April 2010

I reserved this flat for a wedding party and we found it to be very well-located and supplied. There was little that we lacked in terms of appliances and comfort, and compared to a stale hotel, we found the flat to be an enjoyable place to relax for the week. The two double rooms are quite nice, though the room with twin beds could use a bit of decor as it is a bit drab compared to the other two. The garden is definitely lovely! Perfect for a barbeque if the weather is cooperating. Very centrally located, there´s bus stop nearby with a direct line to downtown and there is no shortage of shops and eateries in the neighbourhood itself. Sri and the other contacts were extremely helpful throughout the reservation process, however, the guestbook in the flat needs to be updated with more and current information. The place could use some minor repairs to really touch it up (eg. loose doorknobs, broken towel rack, a lamp didn´t work), but other than that, a very good option for SF!

      Really enjoyed our stay

Left on 02/06/2010 for a stay in January 2010

My family and I had a great time at this delightful place. From the moment we
arrived, we noticed that the place was impeccably clean and comfortable. The
deck and garden are beyond great. We had our dinners on the deck outside
whenever the weather permitted. It was truly a magical experience to be
eating in the evening, surrounded by beautiful plants and trees in a
      comfortable setting.

The location is great. It is a happening, hip part of town and we were close to
coffee shops, bars, restaurants and night life. We could walk to Panhandle /
Golden Gate park and it's museums.

I would like to thank our hosts Seri and Nisha for making the whole experience
      particularly smooth and delightful.

      Nice & Warm!

Left on 12/09/2009 for a stay in December 2009

Excellent service, perfect response to special requests. The home was nice and warm, the deck and back yard beautiful... we had a couple of great barbecues! The location is really convenient, one block from the first bus and two blocks from Oak & Divisadero (plenty of buses). The best was the 'living room - deck - back yard' combo!
