Bernal Heights is like a small village in the city of San Francisco. Cortland Avenue, one block away, has many restaurants, interesting boutiques, a library and a grocery store. The eclectic mix of restaurants on Cortland, serve Italian, Mexican, Thai, and Nepalese. There are two wine bars, four coffee shops and excellent bakeries.
Street parking is easy, there are no street cleaning hours, and parking permits are not required.

My husband and I just returned from a quick getaway to San Francisco. Hotels were ridiculously priced and so we decided, for the f irst time, to check out the vacation rentals instead. We will probably do this from now on! This little lower level apartment was perfect for our needs. Even though we initially wanted to stay right downtown, we were very pleasantly surprised at what the lovely neighbourhood of Bernal Heights had to offer. Courtland St. is full of a variety of restaurants, and even though we ventured away every day, we always came back to "our" neighbourhood for dinner, and were never dissapointed. There is a good sized grocery store as well. We did not have a vehicle, and didn't need one, as the buses ran anywhere we wanted to go, and very frequently too. The lookout at the top of the road is spectacular! Overall, very pleased with this apartment.

I love this little apartment! I stayed here while looking for a permanent place to live and fell in love with it. (Wish I could have stayed here forever!) It's beautiful, has really fabulous furnishings, and is immaculately clean and bright. There are floor to ceiling windows in the living room that bring in lots of light, but as it's on a backyard, is totally private. Access is easy, and it is located just a block from Cortland avenue, the main thoroughfare of Bernal Heights. Everything you need is within walking distance. There's a great grocery store and also many great restaurants, bookstores and cafes. Plus, it's very easy to walk to other area, such as the Mission District, or walk up to the top of Bernal Hill for panoramic views of the city. I highly recommend this charming apartment!
