      This place is fantastic!

Left on 11/04/2011 for a stay in October 2011

My Husband and I stayed in this flat for our vacation in October 2011. This was kind of a last minute thing for us as I panicked with my hotel reservation and saw this place available. I have never rented a vacation property before. This flat was a the best idea I have ever had! It was so nice to be able to have a whole apartment for our use during the week. Well stocked kitchen with pots, pans, dishes and the like. Comfortable bed and nice living area with a flat screen TV. The best part of this place is the deck off the back. We have the most beautiful views in the early morning and in the evenings. I wish I could post one on here just to show. I will miss that view!! The back yard has a huge Dogwood with blooming fruit and a lemon tree in the back as well. We were greeted by many hummingbirds as there is a feeder on the deck and many flowering shrubs for them to get their nectar. I cannot recommend this place enough. I met the owner while we were there and she was a very nice, warm and welcoming woman. Very sweet. I cannot wait to get back to San Francisco!!!

Perfect. Views are unparalleled, the cozy apartment charming and light filled, the hosts are extraordinary. A nice oasis above the hustle and bustle of the city, within everything you need within a short drive or walk. The hills were not a deterrent for me. Loved every single minute I stayed here. Highly recommend!

Very Nice Apartment - highly recommended

Left on 11/01/2009 for a stay in September 2009

Nothing bad at all to say about this place, we spent a very pleasant two weeks here. Lots of space for two people, very light with nice garden & good amenities. Location is a little out of the centre, but not too far, and is actually nice to be a little bit more removed. Nice distance from Mission, various shops etc. Only issue is that it's a bit of a hike up the hill, but where isn't in San Francisco, and as a result it has a nice view and manages to avoid most of the fog.

Home away from home (with a view!)

Left on 10/09/2009 for a stay in September 2009

This apartment is a nicely appointed basement unit on Potrero Hill with a great view westward of the Mission and Castro districts below. It's away from the hustle of the downtown area, and a relaxing, comfortable and spotlessly clean place to spend some time in SF living like a local - the kitchen lived up to its billing and had everything needed to cook a good meal.

If you are on a short stay looking to do more 'touristy' things, this is probably not the best choice as the area is mainly residential and quiet - amenities in walking distance are fairly limited. However, the area is serviced by a few MUNI bus lines so you don't absolutely need a car - we got around quite easily using public transportation. If you do have a car, it's pretty easy to find parking nearby, as long as you have good parking brakes!

The owners, who live upstairs, were friendly and welcoming but not at all nosy - a perfect balance. And as the apartment had several guidebooks left by previous tenants as well as a thoughtful directory (closest groceries and cafes, how to log onto the free wifi connection, some delivery menus, etc.) we didn't need to take them up on the offer to head upstairs to ask them questions.

All in all, an enjoyable place to spend a week in SF!

      What an awesome little place!

Left on 07/18/2009 for a stay in October 2008

This was a great place to stay. The rental unit was very clean, bright and quiet. The balcony off the dining room was a great place to sit and read a book or enjoy your morning coffee. They had a lovely back yard too. The next time I am in San Francisco I will definately book this place again.

This little spot on Potrero Hill is a bright and sunny view over the central San Francisco peninsula; a quiet place to relax over the nearly two weeks I stayed here on vacation. Even though my intention in retaining this rental was to venture into an unfamiliar city I almost passed up for Portland and Seattle, I found myself staying in, day after day, stopping over at the nearby Whole Foods Market once or twice for little pleasures to keep me from having to go anywhere. The unit is fully equipped, and the homeowner living above briefed me on the laundry, trash, and backyard amenities, not to mention the binder and books on area services and local attractions they make available to renters. Most, if not all of the permanent indoor lighting is on dimmer switches for creating just the right mood at night. The front garden, the backyard, the decor and multiplicity of windows all conspire to make the place feel light, airy and delightful during the day. If you're okay with hillside San Francisco living, you'll like this place. Otherwise, parking on the street's steep incline and hoofing the hills to access public transit may have you cursing the city's topography. Beware of parking on streets that require permits- the ticketing officers ARE diligent. A wireless hot spot extender like Apple's Airport Express may be useful to amplify the wireless internet signal provided by the homeowner. I can't recommend this haven highly enough. Its a sweet little place to write, celebrate a relationship or to simply relax while you bask in the light and take in the view; and the rental manager and the homeowner were both a pleasure to work with.
