    LOCATION DESCRIPTION
Neighborhood: HAIGHT ASHBURY This vacation rental is located in Haight Ashbury, exactly in between Upper Haight and Lower Haight. Any day of the week, the Upper Haight is filled with a potent mix of locals and tourists. Many shops are geared towards luring visitors with some kind of reflection of the neighborhood's storied past. The carnival-like energy and strong vintage atmosphere comes through everywhere, from the clothing shops to the ornate Victorian architecture.
Less touristy and more low-key than the Upper Haight, this is an eclectic alternative to the Mission, very similar in style. The diverse restaurants, shops and salons cater to residents more than visitors. Walking distance to tennis courts located in a beautiful park. The park is also great for jogging and evening walks. Yoga and massage studios are nearby. Moreover, walking distance to shopping in the lively Haight-Ashbury and Castro neighborhoods. Washer/Dryer located in the building.

This house has seen better days!

Left on 07/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Three of us stayed here for a week in June 2012. There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance, but parking in the area was hit and miss, especially at night. The small tv was basically a computer monitor and the satellite channels were not working for the first 3 days. According to the contact person, the satellite connection was from another house and had to be checked there (illegal connection ??). The bathroom was a mess. After using the shower, water would pool on the floor in front of the shower and the drain was badly clogged. The hardwood floors in the living room were filthy and there were pieces of toenails on the floor. There were not enough pans in the kitchen for cooking and there were no pot holders. Do not stay at this house!!!

      We enjoyed San Francisco

Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We enjoyed San Francisco and staying at your properties very much. Last Monday we came back to Switzerland with lot of great experience
from SF and California. All of us (5 person) were very satisfied.

One comment, we get a parking fine, because we parked over 3% steep street, without wheel turn to the shoulder.
I think, Europeans are this law not aware. Perhaps it is an item for check-in list.

For next stay, we would again choose your property.

      Great Location, Great Price

Left on 04/09/2012 for a stay in March 2012

I was looking for a nice, affordable place to stay with a few friends over the weekend and found it here. Bernat was helpful and prompt with his responses and we found the place to be clean and comfortable.

      Pros:
      • Clean
      • Well-stocked kitchen
      • Close to plenty of Haight St. restaurants and Whole Foods
      • Plenty of sleeping space - three beds and a futon, plus space for an airbed (not included)
      • Large backyard
      • Great patio space and small rooftop deck
      • Easy check-in/check-out
      • Good water pressure

      Cons:
      • One friend mentioned that his mattress was "loud," whatever that means. They weren't super comfortable, but they did the job.
      • The BBQ Fairy needs to turn the tiny Webber grill into a real propane-powered meat cooking machine.
      • More dish and/or paper towels would have been handy, but now I'm just nit-picking.

      Good living in Haight!

Left on 06/11/2011 for a stay in March 2011

A very good accomodation in the heart of Haight-Ashbury, when you want to travel to SF with friends or the family and you don't want to stay down-town. The apartment is in the near of the Golden Gate Park.
The 3 bedrooms are fine and the beds are comfortable, in the kitchen you can find everything what you need for cooking. If the weather is fine, you can make a barbecue in the small but nice garden. If you have a car, you can find parking space in the near or sometimes in front of the apartment without paying.

Good location - property in need of renovation

Left on 06/02/2011 for a stay in January 2011

Good location. The apartment goes from good to poor in condition. Bedrooms and lounge were good, roof terrace lovely (if overgrown) the bathroom was in a poor condition, mould on the floor and in the bath, peeling paint on the floor that was 'disguised' by a bath mat, the towels had holes in them, the shower trickled water, there was a mouldy toilet roll by the basin, and the bath looked like something from the 1970's - mirrored ceiling etc. The kitchen was a little better, but not the standard that I would have expected. All the china and glass ware seemed to have been bought at a garage sale - a trip to Ikea would have solved this.
There was no booklet or advice/guide left about the local area, where to eat, where to go etc this would have been very helpful.
It could have been a great place to stay but with the above problems was very poor value for what we paid.

      Manager

Dear guest, we have painted the bathroom and fix the toilet seat. The towels have been also replaced, we do that every new season.
We have also bought some new glasses.
We have not removed the mirrored ceiling inside bath, some peole like it! I am sorry for the inconveniences and thanks for your review. Most of our guests love this apartment because the location, the layout and the garden. Also the value of accommodating 8 guests with an affordable price is a plus at this location.

      Haight Ashbury

Left on 03/23/2010 for a stay in January 2010

Haight Ashbury is the perfect place to stay in SF! Centrally located and great
life, restaurant and cafes in the neighborhood. The house is very comfortable
quiet and fully equipped. The 3 large bedrooms are nicely decorated and the
garden is a retreat for the children, it has a barbecue and an outdoor fire-pit
which make you feel home. Also don’t miss a sun bath on the roof top deck.
