It's luxurious, comfortable and close to many of the city's points of interest. The third-floor Penthouse is within walking distance to many of the city's attractions and accessible to many more via the famed San Francisco cable cars that traverse the area.

If you're looking to take in a play, the Curran Theater, American Conservatory Theater and Marines Memorial Theater are located just off of Union Square. If it's shopping that interests you, choices abound, from multi...-level stores like Neiman Marcus and Gumps to smaller signature stores like Tiffanys and Gucci. And then there's dining. San Francisco is known for its fine restaurants and many of them are in the Union Square and Nob Hill areas.

Just four blocks from the Penthouse (on Bush Street near Jones Street) in another direction is Nob Hill, where you can have a drink at the Top of the Mark (Mark Hopkins Hotel) or grab one of the fabled cable cars for a ride to North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf or the Embarcadero.

And while the Penthouse's proximity to many points of interest is a plus, the Penthouse itself is remarkable.

Located in a lovely, vintage building, the Penthouse is beautifully decorated. The living and dining area, which seats 10 people, is richly appointed. It features a real wood burning fireplace. Two of the bedrooms have a queen-size bed and one bedroom has a CA King bed with deluxe down bedding and fourth story views over Bush Street from the balconies. There are TVs, DVDs and stereos in two of the three bedrooms and the living room. There also iPod docking stations in all bedrooms and the living room. All new custom and designer furniture throughout this unit makes for a most comfortable retreat. A washer and dryer are located in the garage for your shared use.

If staying in appeals to you, there is the gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances, including wine refrigerator and built-in Miele coffee/espresso machine. Or there’s always the rooftop, where you can grill with a view and dine with the pleasure of gas heaters. And if none of those sound good, you can call Waiters On Wheels, which delivers food from a variety of restaurants, including Wolfgang Puck’s and Steps of Rome.   The Penthouse was beautiful just as the pictures, but I want to warn potential renters to go through the home with a fine tooth comb and to notify them of any little stain or scratch. We stayed there and on our first night noticed a small dime sized blood stain on a duvet cover as we went to bed. We just took the cover off the bed and put it to the side and forgot about it. Well when we got out deposit back, they had found the stain and charged us for it and all linens. After many telephone calls and promises to get a call from the owner that never came I felt I had no other option but to warn others to becareful. Call them to report any potential problems, no matter how small they may seem.

  I stayed here with my husband and friends (another couple) in June 2012. The apartment is just as shown in the photographs. It has a shared roof top garden with table, chairs and a couple of loungers. It was great to have an outside space, in a city, for relaxing. The main bathroom, with a shower over the bath, is on the upper floor with the 3 bedrooms and the access to the shared roof top garden. The shower room is on the lower floor with the entrance hall, sitting/dining/kitchen area. The main and spare bedroom are at the front of the property facing a busy street. The smaller 3rd bedroom is at the back of the property, so if you are a light sleeper you should use bedroom 3.

  I can not recommend this penthouse highly enough from booking and looking at the photos to receiving information including directions from the airport to security codes and any other relevent information we required.
  The photos are exactly what we got. The penthouse came with every thing would expect and more.
  It was beautifully furnished and very clean.
  One little thing is you do get a bit of street noise from the bedrooms as it is an old building.
