Beautifully decorated and perfectly appointed, this jewel of a 1904 Queen Anne Victorian town house has maintained it's gracious atmosphere while all the mod. cons. have been added. The working fireplace sits elegantly across from the flat screen TV, a wireless router hides on a desk below bookcases and the small but extremely efficient kitchen is very well equipped to serve holiday meals at the dining table that easily seats eight or provide luscious snacks at the tea table.

Just outside the kitchen door a dining deck overlooks a private garden - with more seating available in the garden.

Families can arrange times to use the w...asher and dryer in the caretakers apartment at ground level.

The town house has two bathrooms. One off the entry hall on the 1st floor and the second off the hallway on the second floor where it serves the large master bedroom at the front of the house and two small bedrooms overlooking the garden.

Like all Victorian houses, the wood details are lovely and the ceilings very high - which accounts for the number of stairs - many more than usual so this is not a house for those who have difficulty with stairs.

There is no garage but because the house is located in a university district the two hour weekday parking rules keep parking spaces available all day. Perfect for visitors coming and going.

Our town house is walking distance to many of the main attractions in Golden Gate Park particularly the new and fabulous natural history museum. However, the best asset of this location is a truly incredible gourmet grocery/deli within the same block as our house We have many return guests who come back just for the fabulous roast turkey sandwiches. The convenience of a well stocked grocery store in the same block as our house is much appreciated by all our guests, especially those with small children.

The house is central to all the key attractions in San Francisco and is surrounded by an excellent public transportation system. It is only a 20 to 30 minute taxi ride to the San Francisco airport.

The house is located on Golden Gate Ave between Arguello Blvd. and North Willard Street It is two short blocks from the Arguello Blvd entrance to Golden Gate Park and is surrounded by excellent public bus routes.
It is located in a university parking district (USF) but longer term parking is available in the district that borders Arguello Blvd.

  This was a nice older San Francisco homne that was a good base for everything we wanted to do in San Francisco! Close to Golden Gate Park and short drives to all the vital neighborhoods in the city!
  
  The home itself had plenty of space for the four of us. The queen bedrooms were large and very comfortable. The upstair bathroom was modern and the downstairs bathroom was a strange setup but usable! The living and dining rooms were plenty large enough, and the kitchen had most of the required pans, utensils and appliances. We did not get much of a chance to use the backyard patio because we were usually away during the day and it got cool at night. There is WiFi and it worked fine, but we had to some investigation to get it to work (did some searching to find the password).
  
  Having the arguello Market and Safeway within walking distance made getting those daily necessities a nice plus! One minor inconvenience was the parking situation. When we came home later at night (9-11pm) it was impossible to find any parking close but we did usually find parking about 2-3 blocks away.
  
  Overall, the house was well worth the money, especially with the prevailing SF hotel prices! The renter kept us informed about the house and provided pictures and instructions. The whole rental process was painless. Our group agrees that we would consider this house again if we made another trip to San Francisco!

  Huge dining room; great family dinner. The backyard is simply magical. Quiet neighbors, relatively good parking for San Francisco. The downstairs bathroom is a little weird- it bifold panel door. But no biggie! We had a great time and we're going back next year!
