Loved the apartment. Family of 4 on vacation (2 adults, 2 kids, ages 17 and 12), lots of room to spread out .. especially great with teenager in the mix. Well appointed with attractive furnishings. Convenient location, and parking was not a problem. Would definitely recommend.

Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in October 2012
If you prefer a modern hotel type of experience then this is not a place for you. However, if you want to stay in a charming, clean, well kept Victorian flat, then this is the ideal rental. It is a beautiful building and flat walking distance to shops and restaurants on Haight. There were only two negatives: 1) backdoor of the back bedroom does not lock so we were a bit nervous leaving our laptops and other valuables, and 2) limited parking -- just have to walk a bit, which is not a bad thing.

Althogh the accomodation was clean and comfortable we dii feel it was mis leading in the respect it was classed as 3 bedrooms. There was only two bedrooms and the third was the end of the lounge with a supposed door that was to be pulled across in the evening, the door wouldnt budge it was stuck. No hanging for clothes facility. Definitely not suitable for 3 couples if they wanted privacy, we had a teenager with us and he accepted it although he was under the impression that he would have his own bedroom. The crockery in the kitchen, plates etc were old, and chipped and cracked which should be replaced immediately. It is quite obvous that this accomodation hasnt been checked on recently. The kitchen equipment was very limited and there were no saucepans.

In a good location close to Golden Gate Park. The appartment smelled somewhat on our arrival though this disipated quickly - the toilet door could'nt be closed properly. With 3 young children - I thought this place dangerous - especially with the steep stairs down to the sidewalk. I fell down the stairs and broke a bone in my foot. Parking was difficult with street parking hard to find.

St. Louis, MissouriDecent accomodations, good location
Left on 06/15/2012 for a stay in May 2012
First of all, the accomodations were sufficient. The unit was spacious, there was a full kitchen and the beds were comfortable. The unit was advertised as 3 bedroom/2 bath. The 3rd bedroom was actually the dining room that closed off by pocket doors. The 2nd bathroom was a closet with a toilet in it. There were 3 flights of very steep stairs. This is the middle unit in a 3 family flat. There is a family with 2 samll boys and a baby in the upstairs unit. In the morning we could hear the baby crying and on 2 nights there was conversation going on at 4:00-5:00 am. On the good side, the location was one block from the restaurant/retail district of Haight ashbury which was interesting. We also had no trouble finding parking.

Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Good location if you are looking to stay where the locals live rather than the touristy areas. Very close to good cafes, interesting shops and a park. Numerous steep steps to get into the flat and the interior wasn't in perfect condition - looked quite aged. Two good size separate bedrooms and third 'through room' between the lounge and the kitchen. Pity that the lounge door didn't have a door on it as the couple that had the sofa bed in the lounge didn't really get any privacy. Happy with choice though and San Fran is fabulous.

This old Victorian house was the perfect rental for my friends and I who came to San Fran to wine and dine and shop, not necessarily in that order. Yes the stair climb was a struggle after a long day but the end result was worth it. I would definitely book with this company again. For a group of people it's the best way to go.

SydneyGood location, big house, but a little old
Left on 10/28/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We traveled with our elderly parents. Our plane arrived from an overnight flight early into SF, so I had asked if we could request for an earlier check-in. Normal check-in time is 3pm, I was told that we could be there around 1-2pm. We drove around, and got there around 1ish, and the house isn't ready. We finally went back after 3pm to collect the key, and got in the house, everything was still dirty from the previous stay. We rang, and the clearners came after about 15 mins, it took them at least another hour to clean the place.
The house is spacious for 6 of us. The kitchen is well equipped and the laundry facilities are handy to have. It's weird though they ask to leave money in the jar if you use the laundry, as the website of the rental place says it includes laundry and it's shared with the house next door.
The carpet & rug is really and felt unclean. One of the bathroom door can't be locked properly. We had a rental car, and it was quite difficult to find parking in the area at times.
Location otherwise was great as it's quite central to drive around SF. However, walking and catching public transports could be quite tiring with the hills around since we were traveling with elder people. The house is opposite a school, however, it's quiet. -

Left on 06/07/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Six of us traveled to celebrate my daughter's commitment ceremony on Memorial Day weekend. It was a wonderful time filled with love and family reunions. It was made more wonderful by being in San Francisco! And this rental was perfect for all of us. The beds were heavenly with quality sheets and pillows. Even the sofa bed was very comfortable. Having a fully equipped kitchen gave us extra time together and we loved hanging out in the living room. The art on the walls, the Victorian woodwork and excellent modern shower all added to our comfort and delight. We plan to use your website for our next trip and live for a few more days in one of the lovely San Francisco homes on your service. It was so nice that it was always worth the steep climb to the second floor!

Left on 05/03/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We stayed in this house/apartment for 3 nights. It was spacious, comfortable, and clean. It was in a quiet location, but very accessible to public transport, and the hop-on-hop-off bus, as well as supermarkets, cafes, restaurants etc. And the farmers market on the Wednesday, located at the end of the St where it meets Golden Gate Park, was excellent for sampling and purchasing fresh local food. Would definitely stay again.

Left on 03/17/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Pro:
- Beautiful apartment at a reasonable cost.
- Kitchen was very nice, and well stocked.
- Beds were warm and comfortable.
- High ceilings throughout the apartment gave a luxurious feel.
- Key pickup/drop-off location was right around the corner.
- Unit was ready ahead of check-in time and we were able to pick up the key early (thank you!!)!
Minor Cons:
- Needed to pay to use washer and dryer.
- Quite a few steep stairs to get up to the apartment, since it was on the 2nd floor (not a problem for us, but if someone had limited mobility/lots to carry in it might be difficult).
- Street parking.
Would definitely return!! -

Brisbane, AustraliaLovely property in a great area
Left on 01/06/2011 for a stay in December 2010
This property is good value for money, right in the middle of the Haight-Ashbury area. Close to Muni, shops, food and Golden Gate Park this property is great for travellers wanting to feel at home. Not a great place for young kids or the elderly as the front door is 32 steps up from street level (you can't help but count when you are carting groceries up and down!). That said, this was part of its charm for us. The only two drawbacks to this property for friends travelling together is that there is only one television and the third bedroom is a room that curtains off from the lounge. That said, we loved it and would highly recommend the accomodation and location.

(3) Great price points
It happens that each time I've rented was for significant family milestones in our family and each time it has been

Thank you Casa Buena Vista... Ive referred you to all the members of my family who dont live in the SFO Bay area and there will be several other rentals coming your way
this year...
Again, many thanks for your professionalism and compassion...

East Bay, CAPerfect location, lots of amenities
Left on 12/18/2010 for a stay in October 2010
The Good: The central location of the Parkview flat is great, close to everything, including lots of public transportation. Even though you are close to Haight Street, this street is very quiet. Very clean, no funkiness here. Clean sheets, clean, fluffy towels, sparkling kitchen! The amenities in the house are outstanding! Blow dryer, lots of towels, linens, extra pillows, blankets, etc. The kitchen was very well equipped, more than any other rental I've stayed at. The full bathroom was really nice, lots of storage space in the cabinet, big, deep tub, lots of hot water, good lighting. The master bedrooms are really big & comfortable. Lots of closet/storage space, plenty of room to move about. Good little market & coffee shop (with strong coffee & good pastries) a block away.
The Not-So-Good: The '3rd bedroom' is a room between the living room & kitchen. It has 2 doors that close from the hallway & kitchen, so you can limit noise but heavy velvet curtains that separate it from the living room for privacy & light control. It has a trundle bed, not 2 twin beds side-by-side, as some might expect. Perfect to stick kids in so they're close to the TV & away from everyone else! Only a few windows opened so we were stuck with a slight musty odor throughout the flat. The WiFi connection was only available in the living room. The "half-bath? is just a toilet in a closet, no sink. No biggie, just wanted to clarify. The front stairs are really steep! Not a problem unless you have vertigo, bad knees, etc. There were no 'upon leaving instructions'. Not a big issue, but sometimes it's nice to have so you know exactly how you're supposed to leave the house (I left all the dirty towels in the laundry basket in the hall, did they want them somewhere else?).
Overall, even the not-so-good things wouldn't keep me from staying here again as they were really minor. The location, the price, the room & amenities really make this place great. -

Really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The rooms were very comfortable and the location was perfect for us. The only negative part was the construction going on in front of the building but we were out so much it really did not matter. Price was great compared to hotels in the city.

Austin, TexasSteep Steps near The Haight
Left on 01/12/2010 for a stay in December 2009
This apartment is spacious and comfortable but the 3 dozen steps up to the place are
very steep. The flat is a bit dusty and the carpet is dirty but they do allow you to
bring your dog. It is a quick walk down to Haight Street for restaurants, a nice
organic grocery store,, and shops but at night it is a bit sketchy. Buena Vista Park is
just a block uphill but the homeless sleep there at night. Lots of Victorian charm,
original artwork on the walls, lots of storage space, and a modern kitchen that needs
more dishes. -

San Mateo, CANice place, but a little misleading
Left on 10/22/2009 for a stay in September 2009
First of all, my booking with the company was kept on getting
changed. I was promised and canceled on two other houses in
the casabuenavista's list before they finally settled on this
one, and all this after the payment had been made. Just a
slight problem with organization/management.
Also the listing says this place has 2 bathrooms which isn't
true. it has 1.25 bath. Like many SF houses, there is one
full bathroom and another "closet" with just a toilet (no
sink either).
The 3 bedrooms are actually 2 bedrooms plus converted
extended living room. Although the bed there (full) does have
a fold out 2nd bed. And the couch has a fold out bed as well.
So 5 beds in total, which is pretty good.
Parking wasn't an issue over the weekend. There is a school
right across the street so during the weekdays it might get
packed.
Apart from the booking issues and the misleading information,
the place was decent. The TV could be nicer, but who needs a
TV when you're a block away from Haight street.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment, which had everything we needed and was calm and quiet after busy days out. The only downside (and a very small one at that) was the one shower between all of us. Loved the colourful Haight district and breakfast in nearby Pork Store too!

We stayed at the Parkview in November 2008 and it was brilliant. We were there for 3 weeks and it was a place to call home. The apartment was very well furnished and equipped with everything you could need, including a washing machine and dryer. It was very close to public transport which made it easy to commute around the city.
We would recommend the Parkview as a great place to stay and would definately stay here again. -

I arrived with my children, in San Francisco looking forward to my Haight Street flat. We went to the pre-arranged location to pick up the key and it wasn't there, neither was anyone on hand in the office. I went to the address listed on the website and no such address existed! We were panic stricken to think we may not have accommodations. Hoping that the address was a minor typo, we started knocking on doors in the neighborhood. A neighbor directed us to the flat next door, and a cleaning crew was on site. It did turn out to be our flat, but they weren't expecting us to arrive until the following day, so it wasn't ready. We were forced to kill a few hours time while they hastened to prepare our flat. Luckily, it was ready before nightfall. So, our reservation was not recorded properly by the office staff, in spite of the fact that I did correspond a few weeks prior to check on and reconfirm the reservation. Once this nerve wracking mix up was resolved, we had a very nice time and enjoyed the flat thoroughly.
