We needed a large space for some family coming into town. This was a gorgeous apartment - the kitchen was incredible. It was fun to cook in town - it made it appealing to have meals in, which says a lot given the amazing food options in SF.
Would definitely stay again. -

When we first arrived the house was a little daunting with a few odd looking pieces of art work around the house but once we settled in, found the cable and tv, fold out bed, wireless printer... it was really good.
Was a short walk to the shops which was also really handy. -

This flat has many things going for it - good location, lots of space, a stunning kitchen and dining room. The stairs are very, very steep, but that is to be expected in an old Victorian.
The biggest problem for our family was the level of dust. Though the cleaning crew had just left when we arrived, the house was musty with visible dust everywhere. We quickly realized that the vacuum cleaner could not reach the carpeted steps, which appeared not to have been cleaned in decades. Additionally, there are many antique tapestries hung and draped thoughout the flat, adding to the problem.
We tried out best to clean and keep the windows open, but eventually kept to the rooms that were clean -- the kitchen and dining room.
I can't really recommend this place for a family, but if you are a foodie who likes to entertain, and doesn't have problems with air quality, you'll love it.
Btw, we live in an 80 year old house in a historic neighborhood so we know the challenges -- and benefits -- of older homes.
I would definitely rent from Casa Buena Vista again, as they were easy and pleasant to work with, and even sent a cleaning crew back to try to address some of the problems.

the buena vista house is just incredible, its location is awesome, the house itself is very well maintained. the check-in and check-out process was very smooth.

I was given an upgrade to this place, which was very nice, but received no notification from their office about the change. Finding the front door and garage entry was challenging, and the garage fits only a very small car. The apartment is beautiful, and well kept. There were problems with getting my security deposit back, and I had to call several times over two weeks to get this processed. I was usually able to get a response quickly, but it was still a hassle.

The Buena Vista Victorian was terrific and perfect for our family Thanksgiving trip! Truly beautiful and spacious living areas - web photos were great but didn't do it justice. Gourmet, well-equipped kitchen (except no microwave or drip coffee pot), incredible dining room - beautiful woodwork and windows and table large enough to seat the whole family, luxury tub - don't forget to try the neck pillow/massager, spotless bathroom, nice master BR, and 2nd bedroom has a twin and a built in window seat bed. Whole apartment sound system directed by PC with terrific music library. There was even a garage available. As with most San Francisco properties, there were lots of stairs and steep street climbs. But great area close to Golden Gate park, museums and interesting Haight-Ashbury. Jesse was great to work with and very cooperative --answered all questions and helped with special requests. We would definitely stay at this property again and would also work with Jesse on other properties.

Our family of five stayed in the apartment for four nights. The location is great and we appreciate the garage.The apartment is spacious, well decorated with a great kitchen.
The big issue for me was that it was not clean. A lot of dust in each room, still hairs in the bath tube and the sink, the floor was also not wiped, even the washing machine and the dish washer was not empty.... When I feel that nobody cleaned the apartment before we arrived, I could not enjoy my stay. Therefor I would not recommend this apartment.
