La Casetta del Borgo - San Gimignano vacation home with private garden and pool in Resort with Wellness Center, Restaurant & Tennis

La Casetta del Borgo is located in the Resort Borgo la Fornace of Montignoso, a little village located on a hill at 500 meters high, near Castelfalfi Montaione and Gambassi Terme. The area is renowned and popular for the extension and the beauty of the woods and the richness and wholesomeness of its SPA sources.

The famous medieval town San Gimignano is only few minutes away, Volterra 30 minutes. Thanks to its favorable geographical position in an hour's drive can be reached the main art cities of Tu...scany such as Siena, Florence, Pisa and Lucca. Very near to the small villages of Pienza and Montepulciano, and to the countryside of the Chianti vineyards of Brunello di Montalcino.

The apartment is on the ground floor with a private garden of 60sqm. La Casetta del Borgo is a two-room apartment, spread over one floor, has a kitchen/living room with sofa bed, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower WC and bidet. The kitchen room incorporates kitchen stove, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker and kettle, moreover is furnished with a large 2-seater sofabed and TV DTT. It's present an autonomous heating system for the period autumn / winter.

The finishes are excellent and numerous references to historical items and the Tuscan tradition, such as wooden beams, terracotta tiles on the floor, fixtures in wood, stone facings.

We have a garden with a large umbrella and a table with 4 chairs, so our guests can make breakfast, lunch and dinner in our garden in direct contact with nature.

At morning it's even possible make a international breakfast buffet in the Restaurant's Hall.

The access to swimming pool is totally free. An elegant outdoor furniture with loungers and umbrellas to complete the pool area surrounded by green space and paved solarium with large natural stones creates a perfect symbiosis with the site and offers himself for relaxing moments.

We have a private parking car lot in the front of the Tennis field, inside the Resort.

The Resort Borgo la Fornace has a Bar Restaurant, with Mediterranean flavors to be enjoyed inside or in the outdoor courtyard, a SPA Wellness Center with heated swimming pools, emotional journey, massage, turkish bath and beauty treatments to regain a healthy mental and physical balance.

There are also children's playground, Tennis, mountain bike rental and many other services to be booked at reception. In the Restaurant and SPA our guests can have a 10% discount on many menus and SPA packages.

We are completely surrounded by woods, near San Gimignano, 30 minutes from Volterra, 1 hour from Siena Pisa & Florence. You can find also many typical tucany restaurants and shops in San Gimignano or in Montaione and Gambassi Terme (10 minutes away).

  Wonderful place, great base for exploring Tuscany - but a bit fa

  We received a very warm welcome from the owners Paolo and Tania when they came to meet us on arrival, and they had also been in contact several times before we arrived - which was great.
  
  They were well prepared, and gave us a map of the area with locations of supermarkets/restaurants/emergnecy contacts etc. along with plenty of other useful information.
  
  The Casetta was beautiful, and well equiped with everythng we could need for self catering. The outside space was perfect for eating outdoors, and the pools on the site were all very close, and had nice surroundings with plenty of good quality sun-beds.
  
  There was a good bar/restaurant as part of the complex, but we do normally like being within walking distance of a wider variety of smaller local places - so you can relax and have a drink without worrying about driving home.
  
  Overall we had a great holiday, and would recommend it to people looking for self catering in Tuscany.

  Wonderful place in the heart of Tuscany!!

  We had a fantastic trip to Tuscany, the house we rented with Paolo and Tania lay perfectly, it was a short distance to almost everything Tuscany has to offer. We traveled with our children at 4 and 12 years, earlier we have traveled in areas with Teddy and superKids clubs, but the children enjoyed themselves on this trip too.We were at the pool at our apartment most of the day and went on tour around Tuscany in the afternoon .. We visited Greve in Chianti, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, Lucca, Volterra. We were also a day on the water park aqua village of Cecina.We stopped a lot and played in some of the parks, had lunch, ate a lot of icecream, a program that is also suitable for children.Are the children happy the parents are satisfied!!!This is a trip I recommend, with or without children, it was fantastic! Thanks to Paolo and Tania for letting us rent their great apartment for 14 days. We had a very wonderful and memorable holiday.

  When we arrived we were greeted by Paolo who was very pleasant and helpful. I would not describe the accommodation as a Villa, but a Town Home. There is one bedroom, and a kitchen with a couch, which has a pull-out bed, which we never opened.
  .The apt. is Cozy and decorated beautifully. The bed was very comfy and the kitchen had all we needed for our one week stay. Our favorite part was the beautiful
  Garden area where we would have morning coffee, late afternoon cocktails, and dinner outside. We traveled during the hot summer and enjoyed the pool also. Very, very clean, and quiet. This is a top-shelf resort area, less than one hour from Florence and Siena. The town of San G is only 15 minutes away, and I would say this was the perfect place to stay. There is a wonderful restaurant steps away that we did not try, but the Trip advisor reviews for the restaurant are also quite impressive. Although there is no air conditioning, as it is not usually needed, Paolo supplied a very nice fan that was sufficient. One last comment. There is really no Internet to speak of from the apt. If you need to connect to the internet, you must walk outside, and up the laneway. That being said, I still give this accomodation a five star review and we plan to return.

  Paolo & Tania are very kind. They answer any kinds of questions with patient and also show a very high regard before we go to the Casetta.
  They wear customer's shoes. They meet any reasonable requests we made, and prepare well before we arrive.
  It is very easy to check-in with Paolo & Tania since they will give you instructions while you are on the way and wait patiently in Casetta until you arrive.

  You will have a great experience with italian atmosphere while staying in this beautiful Casetta.
  The Casetta is located in the center of Tuscany. It takes about 1 hr to Pisa & Siena, 1.5 hr to Lucca & Firenze, and 15~30 mins to Sam gimignano & monteriggioni by car.
  It is very pleasant to drive on tuscany's country roads. I highly recommend you this is a perfect place to stay in Tuscany.

  We really enjoyed our stay in the Casetta! Clean, silent and inside as well as outside everything was in perfect order.
  
  Just a few meters to the swimmingpool though we didn´t use it.
  
  The house is excellently located for exploring the beautiful countryside between Montignoso - San Gimignano - Volterra. We loved it.
  
  Both Paulo and Tania are very kind and easy to get along! They speak good English.

  This apartment is very clean, well equipped and quiet. Bed is very comfortable. The garden patio was great for meals. The location is centralized for visiting Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Siena, and parts of Umbria.
  The host, Paolo and Tania, were very hospitable and informative, with local information and tips on local sights, restaurants and where to obtain groceries and other supplies. We would definately stay here again.

  We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The surroundings were beautiful. It was so quiet and relaxing to either sit out front and enjoy a glass of wine or to lay out at one of the beautiful pools. San Gimigiano is very closeby. Other cities in Tuscany can be reached in approximately 1 hour. I would recommend that you have a GPS. The roads wind all over and the street signs are very difficult to decipher.

  We stayed for a week in Paolo's and Tania's apartment. Both their greeting upon arrival and the decoration of the house, gave us a warm and welcome feeling. We really enjoyed the garden (the best one at resort "Borgo la Fernace"!) and swimming pools.   Una experiencia inolvidable. Paolo y Tania, encantadores y la casa, que decir, igual que en las fotos publicadas, no le falta ningún detalle. El entorno inmejorable, los jardines, piscinas, etc. En cuanto a la ubicación muy buena porque está en el centro de la Toscana a 11 km.de San Gimignano. Los pueblos y ciudades, todos merecen la pena, San Gimignano, Arezzo, Cortona, los pueblos del Chianti, Siena, Volterra, y como no Florencia una maravilla.
  
  La comida, en general, muy buena y puedes comer de restaurante o en locales de comida rápida que hay a millones. Nosotros fuimos una pareja con 2 niños de 9 y 13 años y a los cuatro nos encantó.
  
  Si tenéis oportunidad de ir, no dejéis de comer en "Bar-Restaurante el panini" que está a 2 km.de la casa en dirección a San Gimignano ( en Castagno ), justo saliendo a la carretera a la derecha y por supuesto a la Gelateria "di piazza" en San Gimignano.

  Somos una pareja con dos hijos de 11 y 12 años y estuvimos 10 días en el mes de agosto. La casa es perfecta , mejor que en las fotos, no echas nada en falta . Es acogedora y cómoda y el complejo es precioso y muy cuidado, ademas todo el mundo es muy amable. Es como si estuvieras en tu propia casa. Esta cerca de san gimignano , en una carretera tranquila y con restaurantes cercanos . Lo mejor no se si es el dormir en el mes de agosto con una colcha o la tranquilidad de la piscina y el jardín privado. Todo perfecto. Gracias paolo y tania por vuestra cordialidad y vuestros detalles. Nos informaron de todo y solo puedo decir que pasamos unos días simplemente perfectos.

  The appartment was very good, nice, and clean and very good kitchen, bathroom en bedroom. It is a very quit place to stay and enjoy your holiday with childeren. We went to Montaione, Siena, Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano, Cecina, Vinci. In one hour drive you can visit all those beautifull places in Toscane.   Thanks Paolo and Tania for letting us stay in your beautiful apartment. We booked this apartment based on other comments and were not disappointed. It was clean and comfortable. Spectacular garden area to eat outside in throughout the day. Three pools along with spa, restaurant and bar. Very close to several beautiful small hillside ancient towns.
  
  We arrived 2 hours late because our cell phone didn't work consistently and Paolo and Tania were there to greet us with smiles nonetheless and pages of local information.
  
  We would absolutely return to this apartment, location and price incredible.

  La Casetta del Borgo was for us a very pleasant, clean and cosy stay. Everything you need is present in the house and the host is very friendly and helpfull.
  We realy felt at home in this appartment, that is part of a little, but very comfortable resort "Borgo la Fernace".
  From this place we visited the nice and wonderful villages and towns of this part of Toscane, like Siena, Volterra, Lucca, S.Gimignano and don't forget the Colle di Val d'Elsa.
  And every day in the late afternoon we went "home", to enjoy this wonderfull appartment with his colourfull and restfull garden.

  We've stayed for one week at La Casseta Del Borgo. Very clean , comfortable and cute house, well furnished and equipped with everything you could need . My husband loves to cook, so we were preparing dinner and breakfast every day in the kitchen. The garden in front of the house is perfect for romantic dinner... with beautiful flowers and trees.
  Paolo and Tania were waiting for us with a bottle of wine and typical tuscany biscuits for the Easter :) So nice... after our long trip!
  We spent a great time at Tuscany, traveling every day with our almost one year old boy.
  There are 3 pools in the complex, so .. it will be perfect for the summer too.
  The whole complex is luxury, quiet, comfortable and just in the forest.

  We spent a wonderful week at Paolo's and Tania's place over the summer. Our 4-year-old son adored the pool and playground, and my wife even took advantage of the spa at the hotel. We found the location perfect as a launching pad for visits around Tuscany, such as to Pisa, Florence and San Gimignano. In the evenings, my wife prepared dinner in the kitchen and we dined in our private garden. Our week there was like a dream, and we hope to go back to La Casetta again some time soon.

  Very clean, well equiped accomodation located in a resort offering all you need: pools, restaurant, tennis, spa, etc. The hosts are charming, incredibly helpful and have foreseen everything for a relaxing and comfortable stay.   My wife and I spent a week at La Furnace in La Casetta del Borgo. Paolo and Tania have given serious attention to detail in planning for the comfort of their guests. It is all that it represents to be. It is located ideally for exploration of the hill towns of Tuscany which we spent a week doing by car.
