Villa La Rondine is a beautifully restored hayloft in a fabulous position on the edge of a tiny cluster of farm buildings, just 3km from San Gimignano and enjoying fine views of the countryside. The villa, which is fully detached, is comfortably furnished, has a gorgeous panoramic terrace and a private swimming pool situated below the house overlooking the valley.
Villa La Rondine has been very recently restored with much care being taken in preserving its original features. Beamed ceilings, terracotta floors, and slanted brickwork on the windows have all been retained and marry perfectl...y with the Tuscan style furnishings creating a warm and homely atmosphere.
The entrance to the villa leads to a hallway off which there is a comfortable double bedroom (which can convert to a twin on request) and opens onto a balcony, a handy washroom with w.c, and an archway leads to a fully equipped kitchen. A few steps descend from the kitchen into the living room which has a dining table and chairs, satellite television, corner settee and lovely arched windows. The living room opens directly onto the villas terrace which is furnished for dining al fresco, and enjoys unspoilt views. The height of the barn has been cleverly used to create a spacious first floor, where there is a shower room, another pretty double bedroom (which can convert to a twin on request) and a single bedroom which also has external access via steps at the side of the villa (an extra bed can be added here on request to accommodate a child of up to 12 years).
Surrounded by lovely countryside, beautiful panoramas can be enjoyed from the villa. Especially from its gorgeous terrace which is furnished with table, chairs, sun umbrella, barbecue and the perfect spot for dining al fresco. There is an unusually shaped private swimming pool (6m x 5.2m) situated just below the villa, with views of the valley beyond from the surrounding garden.
When you can tear yourself away Villa La Rondine is perfectly located for exploring the area. San Gimignano City of the medieval towers is just 3km away, and has shops, a great selection of restaurants and a supermarket. Other Tuscan jewels such as Siena with its notorious shell shaped Piazza, and Florence so rich in history can all be easily reached via nearby road and rail links from Poggibonsi or Certaldo.

The villa itself was little spartan but still very comfortable for 4-6 people. Howver, the location more than made up for it as it was outstanding. Looking out over rolling hills and vineyards in every direction with the occasional deer running past. It is 3km from a beautiful walled town, San Gimignano and a car is needed to get to and from the villa. An idyllic place to stay.

The villa is very calm and has an amazing view on the vineyards and the toscan hills. Very nice swimming pool, terrace and little garden. It's very well located, very close to San Gimignano, not far from the Chianti, Sienna and Firenze. No airconditionning, which could be a problem from some people.

The location overlooking the hills and valleys and in close proximity to San Gimignano was wonderful. All of the tuscan sights were in easy reach via the very good italian road network. Our mornings consisted of visiting Florence, Sienna, Barberino, Pisa, Volterra or San Gimignano. Our afternnons consisted of relaxing on the terrace or in the pool and enjoying the view until dark and even then enjoying the lights of the nearby towns and villas. The self contained accommadation had all that we needed. Our hosts were very friendly.
