Two Bedroom Ground Floor Apartment San Gimignano

A winding avenue of cypress trees leads apartment Marina on the ?La Fattoria estate?. Situated in a fantastic elevated position above San Gimignano, there are lovely views of the countryside and the medieval town across the valley. Marina has a large private covered terrace, where you can relax and enjoy the marvellous panorama and a short walk through the grounds lead to the beautiful swimming pool.

Marina is situated in beautiful stone farmhouse on an estate in a magnificent position on top of a hill facing the towers of San Gimignano just 4.5km away. The estate has 180 hectare...s of pasture, agricultural land and woods. It produces excellent wine and olive oil which are available for purchase, and guests are free to wander the estate, which, rich in flora and fauna is the most delightful location for enjoying country walks and admiring the magnificent landscape.

Marina, is a spacious apartment, comfortably furnished, with all of its windows enjoying fine views of the surrounding countryside. The french windows in the living room open on to a covered private terrace (48 sqm) with five arches framing views of the Tuscan landscape. The terrace is surrounded by a garden and furnished with table and chairs, sunloungers and there is a barbecue close by.

A path leads to the beautiful swimming pool (14m x 7m) which looks out across sunflower fields, vineyards and olive groves to the distant hills. The pool is furnished with sunbeds and sun umbrellas and there is a handy changing room with shower and w.c.

La Fattoria ?The Plateau Estate? composed of the owner?s manor house, with its own chapel, two traditional Tuscan farmhouses which have been restored to offer very comfortable apartments, and a panoramic swimming pool.

Our farmhouse has been divided into four apartments, three of which are rented (Nos 34 Vanda, 35 Gina, 36 Marina), all of which are most comfortably furnished in traditional Tuscan style. The farmhouse is surrounded by the estate?s vineyards and olive groves and commands the most stunning views of the countryside, with the medieval hamlet of Montauto and the towers of the city of San Gimignano clearly visible over the valley. There is a utility room with washing machine for communal use, Wi Fi internet connection is available and parking is in the grounds of the estate close to the farmhouse.

La Fattoria is only 4.5 kms from San Gimignano. Known as ?The City of Towers? it is a fascinating place to explore, with many craft shops, local art galleries, and historic monuments, as well as an excellent selection of restaurants. 15km away is the town of Poggibonsi which has road, rail and bus links to Florence and Siena making both of these towns easily accessible, and Volterra with its amphitheatre and interesting Etruscan museum is only 30 minutes drive away.

  Séjour magnifique (trop court) de 7 jours dans une splendide propriété et une région tellement riche d'histoire et de culture. Riche aussi au point de vue culinaire et viticole. L'appartement "Marina" nous convenait tout particulièrement grâce à son immense terrasse qui nous permettait de vivre dehors. Bravo pour l'accueil original et unique (visite de la propriété, dégustation des vins, etc...).
  Calme, soleil et décor exceptionnel (vue sur San Gimignano)... que demander de plus si ce n'est un nouveau séjour!!

  There is no doubt that the view on the towers of San Gimignano is magnificent. However, we were far less enthused by the interior of the apartment. Pretty uncomfortable furniture and bed. There was actually no really comfortable place to sit. Both showers flood the bathroom floors, one of them is even over the toilet and bidet. Kitchen faucet shrieking really loud. No electricity outlets for coffee machine and toaster. Why provide them if you cannot plug them in?
  
  The family is lovely though, we had an every nice welcome.

  Das Weingut liegt auf eine anhöhe mit tollem Blick aus St. Gimignano. An dem großen Pool und auf der sehr gepflegen Wiese kann man sich wunderbar erholen. Für Kinder ist es vielleicht ein klein wenig zu ruhig. Die appartements sind im tasksnischen Stil eingerichtet und eher etwas schlicht. Es ist aber alles vorhanden. Wir hatten eine sehr große Terasse für die lauen Sommerabende.
  Gäste, die gerne Sightseeing, gekoppelt mit erholsamen Stunden suchen, sind hier genau richtig.

  Très bon service des propriétaires.
  La maison est tellement bien située avec vue sur la ville de San Gimignano, nous avons profité de la piscine et du BBQ.
  
  Juste un petit point négatif l'entretien quotidien était propre mais les cadres, les murs et les lampes étaient très poussiéreux il faudrait faire un grand ménage.

  Quit basic accommodation but the location and surroundings were fabulous. Lovely shared pool never overcrowded. We would definitely stay here again. The owners were delightful helpful friendly and generous.

  quietness, many space (garden and terrace) on a unique location

  many space for us and the children,especially outside : a large terrace under the arcades so we always could relax in the shade;
  also the ideal location for bbq
  the view was stunning!
  we would have liked a restaurant on the site also because we always had to take the car for going out
