This beautifully furnished 3 bedroom, 3 bath condo is situated on a hill overlooking the bay of San Jose (Sea of California or Cortez) - 3 different names! Staff are completely hospitality oriented and available at all times. Location is secured by 24 hour gate security. It is important to know that the hill is a difficult climb and a 20 minute walk to everywhere. The walk is worth it even though challenging as the town of San Jose is charming, the beach is beautiful even if unswimmable and the local restaurants are great. The pools at alegranza are outstanding (3 of them) and beautiful gardens. The fancy restaurant is a little strange in that they seem unable to tell you a price in advance. Snack/beverage bars at pool are fine.
Unfortunately the kitchen was very poorly equipped but once a list was provided to staff, all needs were met within 24 hours. A 9 hole golf course also is within walking distance and very inexpensive ($500 us for 12 games) compared to the big designer courses. It is a challenge for any golfer (well maybe not Tiger!) Take a cab from the airport as the resort booked one has a substantial mark up in cost. -

We recently had the opportunity to stay at aleganza in the 3 bedroom penthouse. Amazing, wonderful ! Javier was terrific - he worked with our assistant prior to the trip to make sure every last detail was taken care of ...and it was - including having Chef apostolis prepare a private dinner on our terrace and it may well have been the best meal I ever had.
If you have the chance to stay at alegranza ...do so- the staff is wonderful, attentive and can arrange anything you might need. Javier is exceptional and we will definately go back.Response from Javier Noguera - 04/25/2011

We enjoyed the awesome condo; very spacious with privacy for each room and bathroom. The view was amazing, and the ammenities of alegranza were all their brochure described. It is a bit farther from the beach than we expected, but manageable. The on-site restaurant has delicious food, the men at the gate were very helpful, Flor, Pedro, and Javier are the best. Some sort of transportation (besides a Taxi) for going back and forth to the store would be helpful, especially since the purpose of a condo is to 'eat in' alot of the time, but again, it was manageable. Javier was especially generous in providing us the use of his Christmas tree, as we were unable to find one. This kind gesture made one five-year old and her Nana very happy. Can't thank you enough!

My husband and I rented this codo for the month of February. It was all we expected and more, given we had only seen pictures on the internet.The view from the terrace is spectacular, actually, words can't describe it adequately.The external facilites(3 pools, 2 hot tubs, fire pits, gym, grounds) are excellent and well maintained. The condo felt like home from the moment we entered. It was fully and tastefully decorated. Everything was first class from the furnishings, paintings, stero system and flat screen tvs to the bedding and the beautiful dishes. We lacked nothing to accomodate our needs. Our family visitors were comfortable and truly enjoyed their stay. Alegranza staff were pleasant and always helpful when needed. Javier Noguera was true to his word and commitments in all dealings with us. He has proved to be a reliable contact person who represents Alegranza, the owners and renters with honesty and integrity. He made our experience a very positive one. We enjoyed San Jose, the restaurants, the Art Walk every Thursday night and of course the time spent on the terrace enjoying great meals and spectacular view. The restaurant at Alegranza is wonderful and the meals are delicious from breakfast to supper or take-out. We would highly recommend Alegranza as a five star facility with a perfect location to San Jose and the Sea. We had such a fantastic time that we have already reserved for six weeks next year. We would encourage anyone interested in renting to contact Javier Noguera for excellent customer service and advice. A bonus at Alegranza is that you have access to the Grand Mayan Resort and use of the facility at no cost. Love Cabo, Alegranza and the condo!
