El Encanto is located in a small seaside area of San Jose del Cabo by the name of “La Laguna” which is located on the eastern edge of town only 3 miles directly down the beach from the new marina in Puerto Los Cabos and a 15 minute drive to downtown San Jose del Cabo.
El Encanto de La Laguna sits along the border of the “Fundadores” section of Puerto Los Cabos.
It takes approximately 10 minutes to drive to the marina at PLC, 15 minutes to be in downtown San Jose del Cabo, and 30 minutes to get to the airport.
The location is unique in that it is out of the “hustle and bustle” of town allowing residents to have more views of the beautiful desert meeting the coastline, beaches that are empty, and the sounds of nature versus the sounds of traffic.

Beautiful villa was perfect for our family vacation! We enjoyed the grand vistas of the sea of cortez each morning on the patios. The infinity pool area fully equiped with palapa, grills, fire pit, lounge chairs and tables were great for our enjoyment. Literally steps from the pool, I think I enjoyed 4 swims before lunch. No need to schlep and set up base at the pool, it's right out the door. Other owners and guests were very friendly. The unit is stocked and finished with fresh towels, b.edding, great appliances, and wonderful finishes. Newer construction, blemish free. The grounds are immaculate. The property manager and concierge were responsive and easy to work with. They coordinated a fishing trip for us and can handle dinner reservations, etc. The property and team exceeded my expectations. Getting to the property was easy and well marked with signage out of san Jose. 10 minutes to downtown san Jose. The pool was never crowded and we felt at sometimes, as we had the place to ourselves. If you want to have a peaceful home base away from the crowds, this is perfect. We ate a lot of meals in, especially breakfast, and kept up with our own cleaning and laundry. But, if you prefer, full maid service and chefs can be easily arranged. 2 minute walk down to the beach, which you.can have to yourself. There is arc and horeback riding about 5 minutes from the development. What else can I say? If I were you, I wouldn't book this place. Why? I would rather have it myself and not raise visibility on it. By the way, you will definitely need to rent a car, but driving in cabos is easy, much like southern California, except the drivers are slightly more skilled. Also, my wife and two children stayed with me. It was the perfect place for a family vacation, and we felt very much at home. You don't need to bring too much there, its all there for you. In summary, a very relaxing, easy vacation. Thank you.

We stayed with our friends at this lovely condominium - well off the beaten path of San Jose del Cabo. It is located in a gated community and is beautifully detailed and furnished. Since it is a private condominium community, it is very quiet and there were not a lot of guests at the time of our stay.
We had used the soaking tub one evening and the following morning my friend said he saw my sundress on one of the lounge chairs. We both commented as to how "safe" our surroundings were, "couldn't be safer than this [the gated community],"so, rather than rush to retrieve my dress (as I should have), instead we finished our breakfast. Shortly after he said he saw my dress (about 45 min), I went out to retrieve it and it had been taken from the lounge chair! I was (still am) very disappointed. The dress was the perfect little sundress - one that I had purchased in Hawaii 20 years ago. I used it solely for vacations to sunny places. It was still cute, current and like-new. I believe that one of the guests saw me wearing it, thought it was cute (it was/is) and decided to take it from the lounge chair versus trying to find its owner. They would not have had to have looked very far, either, because there were only about 4 units that were occupied during our stay. I did look high and low and let everyone know (seriously - everyone knew about the dress, even the gate guard), but nothing turned-up. Even our neighbors - condominium owners - were surprised that it was taken as they had left items out overnight by the pool on many occasions with no problem.
Lesson learned - when travelling - even to a very exclusive, expensive, high-end location - don't assume a false sense of security!! I am still very sad that someone had the nerve to take my sundress!!
I would recommend this vacation home and location, but am pretty sad about my dress. I also do not think it was any of the staff as there was only one gardener working, that we could see that morning.Response from El Encanto Villas - 05/20/2013

Imagine waking up everyday looking right at the sunrise over the ocean while still in bed? I still miss it! An absolutely breath taking experience.
Our overall stay was great! Only glitch was the sporadic Wi-Fi. When traveling with teenagers that becomes a concern for them. Otherwise, everything was exceptional. The staff alilat and Maria were so welcoming and insured that everything was phenomenal, and indeed it was.
Alilat arranged for a chef on Christmas day, the food was the best and most authentic we had the whole time we were in Cabo.
In summary, the location - away from the main drag, the staff, the tranquility, was amazing! I would highly recommend the villa and would definitely return.

Great place to relax
the view on the Ocean is awesome from the infinity pool
When we stayed there weren't many people around so it felt like a private pool

Everything about this property and location was above and beyond our expectations. It is seculded and quiet and was in stark contrast to the Cabo San Lucas Spring Break mayhem. A little difficult to get to and way off the beaten path, but once you are there it is like a private paradise. If you are looking for a quiet and tranauil setting with beautiful amenities, this is the place.
