Our group of 9 people were in Cabo for a wedding. This "resort" completely exceeded our expectations. Our jaws dropped the minute we walked through the door. The tipi is amazing!!! All of the villas were well appointed. There was a place for everyone to have a little privacy when they needed it. We enjoyed whale watching, swimming, hot tubbing and general relaxation our entire stay. The chef and massage services are spectacular--- we wanted to bring Danny home with us! The pictures on the website do not do the place justice. You'll just have to stay here and see for yourself!

This is truly an amazing place to vacation on the beach. I was lucky enough to return to Salina del Mar for a second time. Greg the owner/architect/builder of Salina del Mar thought of every detail to make this vacation home, although it is more like having your own boutique resort, the best place I've ever stayed at. The beach is quiet and empty with only you and all the marine life passing by. Can't wait to return.

This was my first visit and it exceeded all of my expectations. The casitas are beautiful and comfy. The outside kitchen was perfect for our group. Greg had the "taqueria" come to cook for us twice, best taco's ever! What can I say about the beach? Perfection. Whale watching every single day. We saw dolphins, seals and a sea turtle. I can't wait to return. I want to tell everyone that needs to unwind to please visit for the best vacation ever.

Greg (owner) has been inviting me down for years and Dean and I finally made it a few years ago. The location is perfect for a quiet relaxing retreat, but lots of options for activities with the ready access to the water. The accommodations were luxurious and we felt pampered from hanging out under the palapa with a glass of wine to an authentic Mexican meal catered as we took full advantage of the view. We still talk about the trip and gush to friends. This was definitely a highlight in our vacation history and we miss Greg and his generous hospitality!

Salina del Mar a beautiful restful retreat on the Sea of Cortez. First stayed there many years ago prior to all the new construction Greg has done over the years. All the suites are all well appointed and just beautiful. The outdoor kitchen under the palapa is a wonderful place if you want to fix your own dinner has BBQ or watch TV, listen to music or just listen to the waves. Each suite also has it's own kitchen to grab a quick bite or have breakfast without having to leave your room. Local markets have some great fresh produce so you can some cooking on your if you choose. Greg can have some of the local chefs come in to fix dinner for you and that was a great treat for us. Want to just kick back by the pool with a book and watch the whales and sea life it's right there. We enjoyed waking in the morning and sitting on the seawall and watching the rising sun. You want to head for Cabo or San Jose Greg can point you in the right direction to some wonderful eateries or for sightseeing. Salina del Mar is a amazing home and Greg is a very gracious host and I can't wait to return.

Left on 12/27/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Although we live in a snowy paradise, it was so refreshing to escape to a new kind of paradise in Cabo. We shed our snowsuits for bathing suits, and found the most beautiful, relaxing and immaculate beachfront home-away-from-home. The entire time I just kept thinking, "why didn't I get married here!".
The property is absolutely stunning, with amazing views of breathtaking sunsets and whale watching right off the deck of this beachfront beauty.
The owner, Greg, made sure we were well taken care of and helped us round out our vacation with a whale watching excursion, masseurs who came to the property, and meals that were to die for!
If you are reading this review to help you decide on where to stay in Cabo, look no further! You will have the most amazing time, as we did, and find yourself loving your new home-away-from-home.

I rarely write reviews, but when I find a place like this, I have to take some time to write one. From the moment you walk off the street into this property, you just feel like your instantly in vacation mode! The owner has done an outstanding job with landscaping, and all the details. It's a very unique and extremely relaxing villa to spend a vacation. It is so nice to sip your beverage of choice and just sit and watch the whales swim by! I cannot recommend this villa enough!

Left on 12/23/2012 for a stay in November 2012
It is difficult to know where to begin, to describe my love for this place! I have rented this house for the third time and fall more and more in love with it every time!
From the beginning, the owner (Greg) is very responsive to our needs in booking the room, planning the trip, and guiding us in our choices from day trips, restaurants and activities. His staff is equally as helpful.
The beauty of the home is unique and amazing. What makes it unique is the fact that the bedrooms (Casita's) are separated, affording privacy to the friends/family that share the house; yet provides a comfy, warm area for all to gather. The Casitas's are very clean, the beds extremely comfortable and the decor is simply tasteful. The kitchen/grilling areas have all the necessities to you need.
You can take a small group, (Which we did) or a large group of friends. It's all good!
I have to clue you in that Greg or the staff will help you arrange for a restaurant to come to the house and cook an authentic delicious Mexican meal for you, as well as take charge of the clean up. So easy and inexpensive, we called them every other night that we stayed there. And ah, Buzzards, an awesome restaurant that you can walk to.
Oh; the massage. The masseur, brought the table to the house, placed it in view of the beautiful beach/ocean & gave me one of the best massages that I ever had the pleasure of having.
If you want to lay around & read a book, you will be able to find a quiet, comfy place to do so; & if you are inclined to go out in the ocean on a paddle board or kayak, the equipment is easily accessible at the house. We saw the most amazing marine life. Whales, dolphins, stingrays, a seal, turtles... And my favorite part was when we had the honor of watching a mother whale teaching her baby the whale ways, tail slapping, fin slapping etc. I will never, ever forget it, it felt so special. This house/location feels so special.

OceansideWe Have arrived
Left on 12/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Upon arriving, the rest of the world is left outside the private entry gates. As if to make sure you are swept clean of all of your worries, after walking through the front gates, the closely spaced palms reach out to gently brush all of your stress away. Within twenty feet you can't even see where you came in to this tropical paradise - what opens up in front of you is both sensory overload at the same time an overwhelming feeling of peace and tranquility. After descending to the "relaxation level" you are left to explore the perfection of design that is the result of a perfect balance of comfort and solitude punctuated by amenities that made our stay an effortless lesson in how to really enjoy a vacation. Forget about all of your plans to explore the Baja, once you've arrived here, you never want to leave. We're booked for next year and can't wait.

One of the most beautiful properties I have ever stayed at! If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation with family and friends, look no further. The villa sits a beach miles away from big hotels and the hustle and bustle of San Lucas, yet if you like to go into town it's only a short drive. I would recommend staying at Salina Del Mar to anyone who wants to have a relaxing vacation on the beach (or in the pool!).

When I walked through the doors leading down the stairs I was in paradise, you are immediately transformed into vacation/relaxation mode. This location and property is absolutely beautiful. Very private quite beach I couldn't ask for a better vacation. My kids had a blast and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend the chef or taco bar, its well worth the extra money and the service is great. My husband and loved this place so much, we booked again for next year. Great place for family vacations and venues.

Left on 07/09/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Beautifully appointed private rooms! Grounds feature Casitas that are built separate, giving guests the feeling of 'aloneness'. The large property offers opportunities to mingle with other guests or share private time, with the multiple decks and lounge areas. There is a large outdoor kitchen well stocked with common kitchen utensils. If you don't feel like cooking, there is a local taqueria that will arrive, set up and cook an all you can eat dinner for less than $20 a person. There is also a restaurant right down the street with authentic Local fare.
Greg, the property owner lives on site and is extremely helpful with the activities available in the area depending on the time of year.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day anything, then this is the place to come, as the loudest noise is the crashing of the waves.
Other points to note:
- All rooms have at least a kitchenette on their own, in addition to the kitchen for all guests, except for the room adjacent to the public kitchen.
- Bathrooms are locally custom and beautiful, decorated with local tile and bowl sinks.
- There is a saltwater pool and spa on site, as the sea is shore break, and should only be used by experienced swimmers.
- The beach and ocean are mostly deserted, giving guests a very private experience.
- Most rooms have cable TV.

Mar Vista, CaIncredible Home!
Left on 04/21/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Very incredible home. The owner has this place right. We travel the world and we have not see a property quite like this. It's very unique. Talk about unwinding and relaxation! We walked in stressed from life in the big city and didn't want to leave after the second day. We actually extended our stay an extra day. It still wasn't enough time. You don't want to leave this beautiful home.
Upon our arrival we had Greg, the owner, arrange for the Mexican taqueria dinner buffet, which was a great suggestion. We were tired from traveling all day and the last thing we wanted to do was to go out to eat. The dinner buffet was great. We had the Mexican taqueria back 2 additional evenings. I can't say enough about it! They come to the house
set up, cook, serve you and clean up while you sit back and relax! It was really the best choice since none of us wanted to leave the unbeatable view!
We got lost in our day just hanging out by the pool watching the marine life. Whales and dolphins were putting on a great show right in front of the house. The sunrises and sunsets here are incredible, none like I've ever seen before. We had access to stand up paddle boards, kayaks, surfboards and snorkel gear. It's all top of the line equipment.
An unexpected treat was buying fresh oysters right out front on the beach from the local oyster divers!
The beach is secluded and quiet. Occasionally we would see people horseback riding along the shoreline. Greg was very informative about dining in town which some people in our group wanted to experience. My wife and I preferred to cook in this great al fresco kitchen and listen to the great sound system, not to mention the large, state of the art flat screen TV. Also the Wi Fi is great here on the property.
I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for relaxation and peace. This place has it all. The pictures don't do it justice, to say the least.

Was there for entire week and lost all perception of time and day. It is beautifully maintained and clean. The sound of the waves crashing and being able to see whales was a highlight for me. There are many activities to keep one busy, but this was a true vacation for me. The full kitchen was wonderful to cook in, once you get your groceries you never have to leave. My least favorite part was leaving...

If you ever want to feel what its like to live in Mexico in a Beach House, this one is pretty hard to beat, the only thing we have to complain about is we should have stayed another week to really get into this place. You must have a car to stay here it takes about 10 minutes to get to town unless a cow on the road. Wake up to Sunrise Room#3 and panga boats heading out around 6:00 am make some coffee and watch the day start. The pool is like bathwater and is saline. could not get out of the pool. Palapa kitchen was awesome, no oven though, Geg told us we could use oven in villa #2 but no problemo Closest Restaurant Buzzards and Floras This place was beautiful day and nite Greg is able to assist with anything, but he would not adopt us, we are still working on it. Driving is no problem they do'nt recomend driving at nite for livestock and crazy drivers. we had no issues wilth police the city is getting ready for a G-20 Summit in June and we felt very safe. There are kayaks and Paddle boards to use, but make sure you are in shape, we were not, and if anyone watched us they are still laughing about it. Greg does know some fisherman if there is an interest for boat rental, and he will tell you if fishing is good at that time or not. We went on Whale watch with Oceanrunner it was awesome go on the early run so you can get back in the pool! Thank you Greg we had a wonderful time! Bob & Suzy

I can't wait to return.I checked my brain at the front entry and never needed it once in my 2 week stay. The owner arranged for a chef to prepare a beautiful dinner the first evening but the rest of the time I loved cooking in the outdoor gourmet kitchen. I saw whales and their calves breaching while swimming in the pool.I love the privacy and tranquil feel of the casitas and lush tropical gardens. The owner is very accommodating.
