Condado Beach is located in the "downtown" area of San Juan. Shops, restaurants, hotels, casinos, nightlife, museums, 24-hour grocery stores and pharmacies are a short walking distance away. The neighborhood is safe and popular with tourists as well as locals. The beach is clean and beautiful, good for swimming and two miles of uninterrupted white sand are great for running or walking. There are many beach activities nearby, including surfing, kayaking, windsurfing, beach volleyball and a beach front playground for children. Old San Juan, the colonial Spanish city is only a 12 minute bus ride or drive from the apartment. The owner of this apartment provides maps and travel guides to make your stay the most pleasant and memorable.

I had the immense pleasure of renting the above mentioned studio for 3 weeks. I walked into a lovely well equipped large studio containing full kitchen set-up, internet, TV, ocean front view, immaculate marble floored, comfortable double bed, well planned living arrangement. The building's pool was a dream come true and I swam in the Olympic pool each evening before getting ready for dinner. The location on ashford avenue was ideal for my purposes; close to supermarket, "the action" the beach, the bus stops, hotels etc.
This is an ideal place for people who desire a quiet oasis without loud music blaring and late-night fiascos in the surrounding apartments. I would recommend this rental to responsible mature people who can appreciate value. No smoking. -

Ok! My girlfriend and I got back from staying in Dr. Claudio's studio in Condado about a week ago and we had a wonderful time. The building is on the eastern part of the "tourist" area, so really, you only want to head west while walking around, but the neighborhood is absolutely safe and everyone was really friendly.
It's close to the more entrenched tourist area, easy access to hotels (which can help you coordinate tours and so forth), and, most importantly, the unit itself is clean, well arranged and makes great use of the space. For two people, the studio was plenty of room.
The grounds themselves leave a little to be desired (specifically, the gym is in a serious state of disrepair) but the pool area is nice and the grounds in the rear of the building open directly on to the beach, which was gorgeous.
Dr. Claudio and the property manager were helpful, responsive, and friendly.
Oh, and as an aside, make sure to read Dr. Claudio's recommendations for food/fun around the building. We didn't until about halfway through our stay and wished we had discovered Pinky's much much earlier!Response from Dr. Claudio and Family - 06/13/2012

Thank you very much for your review. Glad that you found that the apartment is clean and well appointed, that the pool and beach are wonderful and that the people are friendly. I also appreciate your comment about our location. As you point out, we are in a great area that is safe and walking distance to many tourist attractions.
As you point out, I strongly recommend that our guests review the materials that I send them before they travel. I think that if you had read what I sent you, you would have had a better experience. In the package that I sent you, I indicated that renovations to the gym at the building have been postponed, but our tennis court is newly renovated and in great condition.
I also said in the materials that we have several fantastic gyms very nearby. One amazing gym is a couple of blocks away on De Diego Avenue. I left guest passes for that gym in the apartment. The nearby gyms also have trial memberships that you can sign up for free or for a small fee. They include group classes and other amenities.
Also, given the nice weather there, many of our guests like to exercise outdoors. As you probably noticed, many locals and tourists like to walk or jog along Ashford Avenue. There is also a very nice running track about ten minutes east of the building that is open to the public.
It is unfortunate that the issue with the gym may have caused you to give us a 4 star rating. Perhaps if you would have known that we provide alternative solutions to this issue, your rating would have been 5 stars. I hope that future guests will read the instructions that I send before their travel so that they don't miss out on any of our recommendations. Thank you again.

This apartment was just the right size for the two of us. It has a great location-close enough to walk to grocery stores, restaurants, and stores. We even walked to Old San Juan as it was quicker than catching a bus, but there is a bus stop right in front of the apartments. Everyone at the complex was extremely friendly and even though our Spanish is poor at best-we had very few problems with communication. We are already planning our next trip there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We wanted to be in the Condado area but still be able to relax and still be by ourselves, have some privacy. We were able to leave the windows open and listened to the beat of the ocean daily. It was especially awesome at night. The breezes kept the room very comfortable. We didn't need the air conditioning. We were also able to watch the surfers from our window. It is a great view.
Besides having the ocean and the beach through the gate there was the pool. Having them both was a big plus.
This apartment is very convenient. We were able to walk to the grocery store and to all the restaurants. We like to walk and went walking every day. It is near a residential area so it was fun to see the neighborhoods. The hospital is next door if necessary. We walked to dinner every evening and felt safe. You do not need to rent a car; but, if you do rent a car, you have your own parking space.
We found everything to be as per the listing. The owner was constantly providing information to us. She was extremely helpful. We would recommend this apartment to anyone. -

We can't speak for this property specifically but we can say that the one bedroom we rented by Dr. Claudio on the same property was great! We stayed here in august for a friends wedding which was being held at the Marriott only blocks away. The location was great, private and had every amenity that you may need...fully stocked kitchen, great sized bedroom, very tastefully decorated and many windows to open and get a wonderful cross breeze that allowed you to sleep without a/C at night even though it was still available. Despite a hurricane knocking the power out for a few days we really were able to enjoy our stay. The onsite manager provided us with candles for night and kept us updated frequently on the status of regaining power. Fortunately the buildings elevators and common areas were supplied with power via generators so we didn't have to walk up 18 flights of stairs. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and a grocery store for all your pina colada making needs. The condo is truly a ocean front view and you can relax on the porched area and feel the breeze any time of day. We thank Dr. Claudio for checking in on us and making sure every expectation was met. When you speak with her make sure to ask about local specialties for she is very knowledgeable about the area! We hope to visit back to this awesome accommodation soon one day!

It was so wonderful and restful to sleep at night to the sound of the breaking waves on the beach directly below our condominium. the studio apartment was perfect for the 2 of us. It was close enough to walk to local restaurants and to drive to see the island. The owner was great about communicating and making our first rip to Puerto Rico even better. The parking was included which is a definite plus over staying at one of the hotels. I would highly recommend staying here!

My wife and I had a great time visiting Puerto Rico and having a great place to relax made the trip even more enjoyable. We did not even need to rent a car as our place was close enough to walk to eat and get transportation to where ever we went during the week. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to the island.

A truly unobstructed view of the ocean, absolutely amazing. With the windows wide open, the refreshing ocean breeze comes into the apartment. It's convenient to everything! We spent time by the pool, on the beach, in Old San Juan where we shopped and enjoyed live music, El Yunque where we hiked to La Mina Falls, Bacardi Distillery, Fajardo, and Luquillo. In the apartment, Luz provided us with a helpful outline of the Condado area, where she listed nearby restaurants and shops to check out. All in all, we had no complaints. The next time we want to stay in the San Juan area, we'll be staying here!

We had a wonderful 2 week vacation here in San Juan. We went running, swimming and to the beach every day. The condo was exactly as described it on the website. The swimming pool was amazing! You did a great job decorating the condo. It was always nice to come back to it at the end of the day. We hope to come back to Puerto Rico soon and will be in contact with you. If you ever want to visit Maine, look us up on the internet at Watermark Cottage. We have several rentals in the "Acadia†area of Maine and would welcome your visit.

What a great 2 weeks we had in the apt. Listening to the waves at night as we slept, reading, napping and swimming at (in) the pool, being able to walk to so many great restaurants, casinos, the grocery, etc. The people in the building were super friendly and the pool wasn't crowded at all. he apt. has a great view as it is directly on the beach. Couldn't have asked for more!

Spending time with the wonderful view of the waves coming to shore was peaceful and calming. I'm glad that I was able to complete my local tasks and to have a welcoming place to stay at days end. I enjoyed the opportunity of walks on the beach because of the proximity to your lovely apartment. It offers all the comforts we'd want, when away from our homes. I thank you for making my arrangements on short notice- knowing how busy your schedule is. Im looking forward to sharing more soon and would want to travel with friends and enjoy some of the local flavors and activities next time.

My husband & I stayed in this apartment in November 2008. The price was very reasonable, and the owner gave us very clear instructions and directions. The apartment was absolutely spotless. Everything in the apartment was as it was stated in the ad. We had a wonderful and relaxing experience there.
The condo is very nice with at least one security guard on duty at all times. The ocean view is amazing, and the location is very nice -- walking distance from everything you need and easily accessible by cab, bus or car. We loved our stay here and would love to come back someday... in the meantime, I highly recommend it! -

What can I say, from the moment that you inquire about availability, till you come back of vacation you are treated like a king by Luz and her family. The Studio has one of the most amazing views you can ask for, located directly on the beach in El Condado, with an Olympic size swimming pool, and a children pool, a great picnic area. Open the back gate and you are on one of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico, and across the street from a 24 Hours store with some of PR yummiest food. Feel like doing a little gambling well just walk right down the ave to the casinos, or restaurants. The Studio itself is great, comfy, clean internet, TV, DVD player, but these wonderful things are just the beginning, the most important thing for me is the family way you are treated, Luz and her family are always there for you, any question you might have, any problems that might come up will be taken care right away, they treat you like family, they care about you feeling welcomed, and that you can truly enjoy your stay in PR. There is nothing that I did not like about the place and will be staying with in the Studio any time I go back to PR which is a often as I can. I recommend the studio for a couple or single person, while three can sleep using the sofa bed.If I sound like I love the place then it is true. You feel safe no matter if you are traveling alone or as a couple with security at the front gate and at the apartment lobby, believe you will love it. Enjoy your stay, i know i always have and always will.

The apartment was neat and clean and in a very convenient location. It had all the amenities one needed including an assigned parking place and security guards at the entry gate and building entry. The pool was absolutely marvelous and the beach was just outside the gate. I would certainly recommend this to family and friends and hope to stay again on a future trip.
