This was the best decision to stay here. The reviews were all amazing and I understand why now. I stayed a week here and could have stayed three more. The location was perfect for us - it was residential and we were surrounded by locals. The apartment was spacious (the pictures do not do it justice) and the layout was fantastic for a group. We were four women and had so much room. The rooms were spacious, the decor was warm and inviting and made you feel at home. Close enough to nightlife, resturants and the local beach and an amazing view at the top of the street. There is no other place to stay in PR if you are with a group of travelers. You won't regret it.

I am writing this review on behalf of my friends, a group of us women visited this beautiful island. The apt was just perfect and we all truly enjoyed our stay. It was sad to leave but it was wonderful to know that we absolutely pick this place if we ever go back. Thanks to all the staff involved in providing us with such an unforgettable experience that we will keep in our hearts forever.
With much appreciation and sincere thoughts.

Charleston, SCGreat location and very comfortable home
Left on 02/26/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The beautiful layout and decoration in this home made it a great setting for our Puerto Rican vacation. We found it to be large enough to comfortably accommodate 6 adults. The open hallway and living room area is perfect for making the most of your time in the apartment. The living room / dining room area has space for at least 12 people to sit and eat, play or just catch up on old times, and the kitchen is very conveniently laid out to make meal or snack preparation easy.
If you're planning to spend time in Old San Juan, this is the perfect location. From the apartment, we walked all over the Old San Juan area. Within walking distance you can find a grocery and drug store, a wide variety of food and drink, as well as the museums and forts that bring Old San Juan's history to life. Taxi access to the other areas of San Juan was always easy to arrange.
This property was in great shape and the hosts provided plenty of clean towels (including a big portable bucket of beach towels). The washer/dryer is a nice convenience to have while on vacation.
Our vacation went so smoothly that we had almost no need to talk to the hosts, but it was nice to know that they were nearby, if anything were to come up. Michael was even nice enough to share 3 delicious mangoes with us.Response from Maria Sanchez - 02/28/2013

This amazing, spacious apartment is located only steps from the famous San Sebastian street, right in the center of old San Juan. It provides all the comforts of home (and more). Three large bedrooms with extra comfortable beds, big bath with a washer and drier, beautiful kitchen with dining area, outdoor space for enjoying mojitos...
The apartment is clean and very well managed, from the moment we checked in to the day of our departure. The owners are extremely nice and quick to respond to all of our questions. We enjoyed our vacation, being able to explore the city, its forts, restaurants and shopping. We also took a cab every day to go to the beautiful beaches only 10 minutes away.Response from Maria Sanchez - 02/28/2013

We stayed for a week at this wonderful condo and I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about the experience. The location was perfect. I loved waking up in the morning and doing my morning run through Old San Juan and past all the forts, which were blocks away. The owners were very personable and accommodating and the unit itself was very well kept. There were eight people in my group and the sizing was perfect. No one felt cramped at all. I can't wait to go back.

When you first walk into this apartment in old san juan, you will realize it's owned by people with taste and style. The art on the walls, the simple lay out, and the bookshelf stocked with great reads and thoughtful guides to the islands will make you feel like you are staying at a friends house, and not a sterile hotel. The clean kitchen, bathroom (with washer and dryer!) and beds will make you feel like you are home. They have the perfect recommendations for local places to eat and sun, and provide all the beach items you would rather not pack.
Don't hesitate to book this one!Response from Maria Sanchez - 04/23/2012

Our first visit to PR -- attending our son's "destination wedding." Mike and Maria made this a perfect stay. We stayed in the first-floor apartment with other upscale tenants who were quiet. The apartment is on a quiet street yet it's less than two blocks from the water; and three blocks from restaurants, shops, parks, a grocery store and a pharmacy. The two castles are within an easy walk. The apartment is wonderfully old-world - one entire wall is open to a private courtyard. It's also in perfect condition - beautiful floors, walls, modern amenities, and a very comfortable place to spend quiet time. When we couldn't find the password for the wifi / internet, someone helped us immediately. Even the small things are provided - a chest of beach towels and kids toys to make the beach a happy family experience. Other family members rented other apartments within three blocks of us, and ours was the nicest by far. Ours was also the least expensive - a perfect solution. We enjoyed our time in the apartment as much as our time touring. I look forward to going back.

I stayed at the apartment with my family (husband, two-year-old and three-month-old, and my mother-in-law). When we arrived we could not believe how spacious the apartment was. The space feels more like a house than an apartment. Large, well stocked kitchen is perfect for cooking any kind of a meal, there is a great outdoor courtyard for enjoying your mojitos, and each bedroom offers plenty of space to spread out. The beds are the most comfortable I've slept on in a while. The apartment has all the amenities that make your stay enjoyable, including cable TV (although we didn't watch it as there were too many more fun things to do), wireless internet, washer and drier, plenty of hot water. The check-in procedure is very smooth - we called our contact from the airport and she met us at the apartment to give us the keys. I would highly recommend this place and plan on coming back again.

This was our first trip to Puerto Rico and we wanted to be based in Old San Juan. The apartment was beautiful and a good location-in the old city and close to everything but far enough from the bottom of town to make it quiet and relaxing. The apartment was well-appointed. Even without airconditioning it was very comfortable. We were glad we chose it and would do so again.

I was amazed by the location and the place reminded me of my parent house. It has a antique decor and make you feel that you are on vacation in a beautiful Island. I did not want to come back from this place. If you are traveling with family or friend it is an excellent place to stay. You have your own personal kitchen and all the utilities that come with it. Everything is close to the place, they have the Historic Castles not to far from the place, nice restaurants, park and gift shops. I reach i had staid for a week, there are so many stuff to do. In this place you also have your privacy, no one comes to bother you which i like. Definitely you will need a car to explore the other places of Puerto Rico. And don't worry Michael & Maria, i will be back next year that is how much i loved it and Thanks for everything.

This is a wonderful home away from home. It boasts a great location in Old San Juan; it is walking distance to all of the necessary amenities, such as restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping outlets, supermarkets, historical sites and taxi stand. It comfortably sleeps eight, is very clean and very secure. It also has a well appointed kitchen, laundry facilities and use of beach towels for all eight guests. Just be mindful that there is only one indoor bathroom and an outdoor shower, so be prepared to fall in line when getting ready for a big night out on the town. Overall, however, I would gladly come back to Maria and Michael's property the next time that I am in San Juan.

Left on 04/27/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We arrived late to check into the apartment with our one year old twin girls but Michael and Maria were gracious enough to check us into their apartment even though it was after 9pm!
They even went to get us a gallon of milk for our girls and held a parking space for us on the street! Way above and beyond our expectations!
Michael and Maria made us feel like we we're staying with some great friends that happen to have a place in Old San Juan. From personal suggestions on dining to tourist stuff, they made our stay memorable.
The apartment itself was a perfect fit for our family. The indoor/outdoor patio to main hallway really made you feel like you had arrived in the tropics. And the location was perfect for anything you wanted to do while in San Juan.
The kitchen was fully furnished for making meals and cocktails and the washer/dryer in the apartment was exactly what you need on a family trip. No central a/c but lots of fans and open air patio makes it comfortable.
We had our older daughter and her friend along as well and they loved the location for night life as well.
This was a great way to experience Old San Juan from a beautiful, well maintained apartment on a quiet block in the heart of the city.Response from Maria Sanchez - 04/27/2011

Christmas in Puerto Rico
Los Angeles,CAOld world charm with modern comforts !
Left on 03/30/2011 for a stay in December 2010
Our family spent the holidays here and we couldn't be more pleased. We also rented their upstairs 1-bedroom apartment. The 3 spacious bedrooms and outdoor courtyard/seating area was a definite plus. The 2 bedrooms for adults were very comfortable (portable a/C is a nice touch!) and the "kids" room w/ it's extra beds came in handy. We traveled all around the island sight seeing and enjoying the local faire but it was very nice to come back to our own place and be able to cook our own food and do our own laundary. It's the small things like newer appliances, a washer/dryer and wireless internet that let us fully enjoy our surroundings without sacrificing comfort. On the days you want to stay local, you're in walking distance to a bunch of shops, historical landmarks and great food. We hope to return soon and will surely be renting from you again. Thank you Michael and Maria !!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants, shops, and night life but not too close to be noisy. You could walk up the hill a little bit for views of the harbor and then a short stroll to the Old Fort. Everything was an easy walk, but be prepared for steep streets. We chose to rent a car and drive to other parts of the island. It was always such a pleasure to return to this charming and private apartment. Old San Juan is an authentic place, not overrun by tourism...you can really soak up the atmosphere. And the mojitos! Yummy.

Left on 01/24/2011 for a stay in December 2009
I came back and stayed in their smaller place upstairs a few months later so I'm saying essentially the same thing in both of these reviews, but I really loved this place. The smaller apartment was awesome too but if I could have I would have stayed in this one again!
The perfect location - near the epicenter of nightlife, restaurants and shopping but away from the noise and crowds. From the terrace you could see both the bay and the ocean on either side of you, so it was walking distance to both, as well as the historic fort with Ponce de Leon's house.
The decor was comfortable and casual, but quality, and we really had a feeling of what living in Puerto Rico is all about, with the indoor/outdoor living situations. The well-positioned ceiling fans and open air options were very pleasant and cool. I love the historic "ojo" window ports and the patio is beyond gorgeous (I must have as many pics of that as the ocean!) Loved the well-stocked kitchen as well as the great restaurants nearby. -

I am a big fan of apartment stays. I like to cook and have my own space and the apartment we rented had a wonderful balcony, very large, and we ate our meals out there.
It was so nice not to worry about a car and to be able to walk anywhere we wanted to. It was a quiet neighborhood of lovely old San Juan type buildings.
I would definitely stay again.
