The Oleada beach house is next door from the Buena Vista Surf Club, situated 8kms north of San Juan del Sur, in the jungle right behind the beach. The location of the house enables you to enjoy the wildlife and the ocean.
The Oleada Beach House is centrally located and close to various beaches (Marsella, Maderas and Majagual), San Juan Del Sur and the surf of Playa Maderas. You can check the surf from your terrace and just walk down to the beach! Rivas is 30 min, Granada 1.5 hrs and Managua is 2.5 hrs away. Other great surfing beaches are reachable within 30-45 min (north and south).

We were flying by the seat of our pants - we has no reservations but in our minds we knew we wanted a small surfing village where we would learn to surf with our kids! The Buenavista Surf Club does not take children but they have a beautiful a contemporary 2 bedroom house right next door ! We were smitten, suspended high in the canopy we were surrounded by howler monkeys and spectacular birds every morning. A short 5 minute walk took us the beach and we were set!

Marc and Marielle own a beautiful piece of land in the hills overlooking Playa Maderas. We rented the Oleada beach house for 3 nights. It was just 2 of us, but the house could easily accommodate 4-5 people. (There are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a spacious living room).
The house has a sparse, modern feel that blends quietly into the natural surroundings. The view from the porch is fantastic--truly some of the best sunsets I've ever seen. There is electricity and running (cool) water with a fully functioning kitchen. It was a peaceful setting for our vacation.
Like the rest of the Buena Vista Surf Club, it's about a 5 minute walk to the beach. It takes 20 minutes to drive into San Juan del Sur, and you need a 4WD vehicle to do it.
Marc and Marielle are fantastic. We joined them for several meals at the lodge. The food was excellent, and the company even better. They have created a very unique space for adventurous travelers and really encourage a sense of community. The lack of internet and endless supply of cold beer make it very easy to make friends.
We'll definitely be back.

I hve visited Nicaragua a few times and this time decided to stay very close to the beach, as it lies outside of town quite a ways. The scenery and view was incredible at Oleada Beach House. I would definitely recommend it to others and have in fact. This is one of the closest, if not the closest, properties to Madera Beach. The prime surfing beach i and around San Juan Del Sur. Thans again Marc and Marielle for a wonderful experience. I will certainly return.
