We had a weeklong vacation and stayed at Casa Cresta. It is so nice private beautiful, and a recommendation to to anyone looking for a awesome place to call home while visiting Nicaragua! It is great hilltop hideaway very clean sleeping space for 8. The Quitador Juan & his family were so nice and helpful. He keeps the pool clean each day and provides security for your safety. The patio out back was a favorite of ours. So relaxing with hammocks and pool steps from your bedroom also you can catch a sunset of the to the Pacific or watch the night sky the rooftop captain's perch. Casa Cresta is perfectly seated half way between 2 beaches: Playa Marsella & Playa Maderas. Marsella was quiet calm beach with huge white sand and lots of where the kids spent hours of the day beach combing. Maderas is a pro quality surf destination with several breaks both lefts and rights. Each has small palapa style spot to buy refreshing cold Tona Lager. Also nearby to the beaches and minutes' drive from the house is several options for good restaurants. It only took a couple of hours upon arriving at Casa Cresta and I was completely relaxed and made for our families best vacation. I cannot wait to get back to Nica and stay again at Casa Cresta.

Our first sunset in Nica from the roof top view.

      superior accommodations!

i highly recommend casa cresta to anyone looking for a beautiful place to call home during their nicaraguan adventure!

the house was very comfortable and clean with enough room for 7-8 adults. the on-site housekeeper juan & his family were always willing to help when we had questions. the management company also stopped by most mornings to check in and clean. there was not a single need we had during our stay that did not receive immediate attention.

the kitchen is spacious with plenty of room for group meals. the outdoor spaces are the perfect place for relaxing during your stay. you can listen to the ocean or star gaze from the rooftop deck. or you can just get cozy in a hammock and read a book. the pool was perfect for cooling off while watching monkeys play in the trees!

the house is perfectly situated near playa maderas, a great surfing beach. it is a short drive into san juan del sur with several restaurants just a few minutes away.

the owners were especially helpful in offering advice on travel arrangements once in nicaragua...i heeded all of the advice and our adventure couldn't have been better. this was truly the most relaxing and fun vacation i have had in a long while!

      Beautiful Relaxation!

Left on 04/12/2011 for a stay in April 2011

Casa Cresta provided the perfect location for our stay in Nicaragua. Located within walking distance from Playa Maderas and Playa Marsella we were able to hit all the best surf conditions. Relaxing on the huge elevated patio overlooking the southern valley and playa Marsella was gorgeous. Moving from a lounge chair to a hammock and then a dip in the pool it was easy to unwind and enjoy some novels. The observation deck on the roof also gave great views of the brilliant stars. There were some great restaurants close by and a short drive to San Juan Del Sur made it easy for anything from shopping to restaurants to nightlife.
The master suite enjoys its own bathroom, shower and private entrance to the deck. The living space was comfortable and open. The breeze on the top of the hill kept the place cool, but there was also a/C for the bedrooms. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare meals and frozen drinks.
The friendly "house minder" named Juan lives with his wife and daughter set away from the house in a smaller bungalow. He keeps the pool clean and watches over the house which provided a real sense of security and safety.

      Ross family vacation Dec 2010

Left on 12/26/2010 for a stay in December 2010

I recently returned from a family vacation in Nicaragua with my wife and our four children, ages 19, 17, 14, 11.
The house is absolutely gorgeous and easily exceeded our expectations based on the pictures we had seen. 3 very nice bedrooms, a great room and 2 bathrooms.

The back patio is unbelievable and comes with its own pool. It is very large with a beautiful view of the valley and mountains to the South. On top of the house was my personal favorite place to hang out, the Captain's Perch. A large porch on top of the house with built in couch where you can sit back and look at the ocean and beach, surrounding jungle and habitat and at night, catch a world class sunset and then stargaze.

Perhaps the nicest aspect of Casa Cresta was the close proximity (walking distance) to a couple of awesome beaches, Marsella to the South and Madera to the North. Marsella beach is a beautiful, tranquil crescent shaped beach that is excellent for swimming, sunbathing, shell hunting and just relaxing. You have the place to yourself. Madera is a much larger beach which boasts some of the best surfing in Central america.

Also notable it the fact that there are a couple of restaurants and places to eat in the general area (and was told more to come) if you don't want to drive into town.

San Juan del Sur is a wonderful little town. This is clearly becoming a tourist hot spot and you will come across as many English speaking people as not there. The beach is lined with restaurants and shopping and has a very laid back, casual feel to it. Sjds is a fairly short ride (mostly dirt road) from Casa Cresta, I am guessing about 8km.

My family and I are already planning our next visit and foresee this as a place we will visit every year!

      Thanks Jared
