Our stay was nothing less then perfect. A quiet and luxurious setting within central Mexico's rich history. Day trips to the Pyramids near Mexico City, and the city of Guanajuato, were highlights we will remember for a life time. San Miguel itself is rich in history and one could spend days there enjoying the excellent restaurants, fiestas, Mariachi bands and other cultural events. "Casa Magdalena" is a beautiful estate. The house is tremendous, with plenty of room for families, or a small retreat. There is a large dinning room and a full kitchen that has additional seating. There are several bedrooms that have full baths. We walked the grounds, used the pool, jacuzzi etc. and all is well kept by the staff. It's very private and peaceful, well off the highway. If we felt like it, there was wireless access and a full movie collection with big screen in the entertainment room as well. We will return.

The moment we were picked up at the airport, we knew we were going to be well taken care of, but we didn't begin to understand just how exquisitely spoiled we were going to be. An amazing dinner was ready to be served when we arrived. (We used the chief for several dinners & invited friends in to join us.) The groceries we pre ordered were already there. During our stay we were taken to the surrounding towns for their pottery (You'll kick yourself if you arrive home without buying some.) museums, gardens, and local pyramids. We were there the first time with my brother and his lady who can't stop talking about our time there. The town of San Miguel itself is a town my wife and her girlfriend felt perfectly comfortable driving to & running around in by themselves. The history of this town will begin to get under your skin. If you stay too long, you will find yourself coming back over & over again. Don't miss the library garden tour on Sunday or the town's walking tour. The folks who own this home and the touring company they work with, will keep you as busy or lazy as you desire. Remember the pool area & indoor jacuzzi or just add a massage while hanging out. They have that special knack of tailoring every stay to fit each group's special needs & specifications. We will definitely be back.

I couldnt have picked a better location and place to stay for our honeymoon. The house and grounds were stunning and the staff was amazing. Anything I needed or wanted, the staff was there to deliver! The house was always clean, the beds and rooms were extremely comfortable, meals were always served, laundry was always done, transportation was always available to anywhere you would like to go, and the grounds were constantly being maintained to. The office which included a computer and internet allowed for us to stay in contact with family at home, which gave a sense of comfort.
Having the pool area and jacuzzi was convenient for those days we wanted to lounge at the house and relax. The decor and art work were impressive! This house is a must see and a must stay for anyone visiting San Miguel!!! The house and experience made our honeymoon the best it could have been!

The home is incredibly well appointed, yet comfortable and non-pretentious. The service was truly outstanding - including the daily meals, the housekeeping, and personal laundry service. The location was close enough to town for easy access, but far enough out of town to take advantage of sweeping vineyard and mountain vistas, and the peace and quiet of a semi-rural setting. I loved the authenticity of the home, while enjoying all the modern comforts. San Miguel itself is charming, historically interesting, culturally diverse and full of wonderful art.

This was my 3rd stay at Casa Magdalena. I always feel so good when returning to this luxurious villa. The options of great restaurants, Mexican History, and cultural flavor are great. We were taken care of as if it was a 5* hotel. I recommend to go!
