Mill Valley, CA USACasa Bella is what I would describe is home away from home.
Left on 12/03/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Casa Bella is a wonderful location to stay if visiting San Miguel. Everything was as I had hoped. Contact with the owner before arrival gave me a very good impression of what to expect. On arrival we met the housekeeper who was very pleasant. Her pride in working at this home was evident and she kept it very clean during our stay. She even stocked the home with groceries before our arrival.
The house is great for a week or a month. It has the soul of a home. The house is well equipped throughout. Comfort is the best description I can provide. It is truly like being at home. The rooms are filled with art work, much of which was the work of the owners. Books fill the shelves. Music and video selections are also available. Satellite Tv is throughout the house. The kitchen is well stocked with whatever one would need.
A wonderful aspect to this home is clear from the minute one arrives at the home. Just as the street outside is alive with the colors of bougainvillea, the many indoor courtyards and patios provide a very peaceful environment. There are many places to sit and get away.
We enjoyed our stay. We would recommend it to any potential visitors who would want to live in a home away from home. -

New YorkCasa Bella, the perfect place
Left on 11/24/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Our recent stay at Casa Bella was wonderful. We arrived late (1030 p.m.) and the house was prepared beautifully. The Innkeeper (Mari) was waiting for us with wine and snacks. We stayed a total of 3 weeks and it just didn't seem long enough. Carols had so much helpful information listed about San Miguel, that I finished a physical exam and my husband had dental work done as well. I just can't thank Carlos and Mari enough for their hospitality.

Our experience exceeded expectations. The house was as good or better than the pictures. I would highly recommend to friends or relatives looking for a dreamy retreat close to the center of San Miguel.
I honestly can't think of a negative about Casa Bella, and my husband and I are pretty picky. -

TorreonUna joya en San Miguel de allende
Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Walnut Creek, CAAll that was promised and more
Left on 07/13/2012 for a stay in June 2012
A friend of mine and I wanted to travel to Mexico. San Miguel de allende came to mind because I lived there in 1978 and wanted to return. It would be a good place for my friend to learn more about Mexico and to study Spanish. But, we had questions. There were rumors about traveling safely in Mexico these days. I had never "rentedβ a vacation home before, or sent money off to someone who was a stranger to me except to make hotel reservations. Both of us wanted to stay healthy and safe. I found Casa Bella online and it looked to be a beautiful place. I contacted the owners and asked for more information. Every reply was friendly and informative, without impatience or condescension. We eventually signed the deal through a secure website. The rest of the story unfolded much the same as the first chapter had. Casa Bella is a truly lovely, secure, comfortable, and interesting place to stay and San Miguel is as safe a community as many of our us towns and cities. The owner helped us arrange for transportation to and from the airport in Leon. He checked in on us without being invasive and sent suggestions about where to go and what to do. He returned our security deposit within one day after our return to the States. Mari, Casa Bella's caretaker, proved one of the highlights of our experience. She was hard-working, trustworthy and helpful, with the patience of Job and the integrity of Vesta. Because I speak a passable Spanish, we were able to learn more much more through conversation, especially when she accompanied us to the marketplace and taught us how to cook various traditional dishes. In any case, she was a patient and focused listener and made a sincere effort to communicate and to attend to our requests. She kept the house and outside patios clean and orderly. Anyone who chooses Casa Bella will be absolutely delighted by their choice. Their home away from home will be an excellent vantage point from which to explore what San Miguel has to offer.

Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Casa Bella is beautiful! It has every amenity you could ask for. The rooms are comfy, the kitchen is perfect and the garden is just amazing with the sounds from the waterfountain make it so relaxing! Maribel really is an amazing cook her chilies rellenos rival my moms!!! Casa Bella is close to many tiendas for quick necesesities (beer). The walk to the jardin or into town is a nice walk passing many galleries, beautiful homes and amazing churches! You can hear the church bells from the house. There is so much to do in San Miguel our stay was not nearly long enough to see the many shops, churches, to visit the many recommended restaurants and watering holes. After a long day of shopping it felt good to come home open up a beer and sample the perfect treats left behind by Mari. Thank you charles for all the recommendations and the extremely detailed and very useful renters guide. It was our bible!!! I look forward to coming back to San Miguel and Casa Bella!
