We had a lovely stay at Walt's casa in SMa. We felt very welcome and very well taken care of. The house and courtyard are lovely. Walt's attention to detail is overwhelming. Just look at the tile, the lighting, the ceiling work and the overall grace surrounding a lovely private courtyard. The effect was comfortable, inviting and relaxing. The town of SMa is beautiful with lots of shopping and food along the cobblestone streets. And, don't let me forget the beautiful view from the roof top terrace. Thank you, Walt, for a lovely vacation.

My husband and I stayed 18 days in Casa Francisco and love it! This house has all the amenities you need to make your stay in SMa feel like home! It's conveniently located to the Jardin (main plaza),shopping, restaurants and all that this beautiful city has to offer. We enjoyed cooking our breakfast in the well equipped kitchen and eating out on the courtyard. The owner is great to work with he quickly answered all our e-mails and phone calls. The housekeeping / manger service that is provided was great. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit SMa.

I recently stayed at Casa Francisco with my business partner for over two weeks. We were both very happy with the beautiful surroundings, cleanliness and unbelievable location of this casa. This large casa surrounds a stunning courtyard complemented by an ornate fountain, an outdoor fireplace and breathtaking local foliage.
On the main level you have a palatial foyer that meanders into a large well equipped kitchen, formal dining room, comfortable living room with fireplace and french doors that open to the courtyard. There is also a two piece bathroom on this level.
The decadent arched stairway leads to the second floor which has two bedrooms, both with gas fireplaces and french doors that open onto the magical courtyard. The bedrooms are separated by a large open office offering optimal privacy.
Our housekeeper, Maru, was exceptional and extremely charming. She kept the casa spotless and was ultimately patient as we practiced our broken spanish on her. The owner, Walt, lives in the us yet still managed to accommodate our every need. If we had any questions or concerns a quick call to Walt from the casa's free us/Canadian landline put us at ease).
Before we left Canada we asked Walt if we needed to bring a blowdryer. He arranged to have one bought before we arrived so we didn't have to drag one with us.
This casa feels like a glamorous home away from home. It is in the heart of it all, being only a 3 minute walk to the Jardin and a 5 minute walk to Juarez park. My partner and I, both female, felt completely safe walking from the centre of town back to the casa in the evening.
I am going back to SMa early next year and will definitely stay here again (if it is available). I would highly recommend Casa Francisco to anyone who is planning a trip to SMa.
Thanks again Walt for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!
Sincerely,
Jada -

Chicago, IllinoisI'm forever tied to San Miguel...thanks to this house.

There is absolutely nothing I dislike about this warm, comfortable, gorgeous and most accommodating home in the Historic Center of San Miguel de allende. From the moment you enter through the wooden doors off of the cobble-stoned street, into the charming foyer. You know right away that you're in a truly, Mexican inspired home. Leading you into a quaint Sala with a very nice lit fountain and gas fireplace. Off of the Sala is a kitchen that will suit all your culinary needs. It certainly suited mine. Being that I'm a chef for a living and everything that I could use to prepare wonderful meals there was at my disposal. Nicely decorated living room with fireplace and a dining room that's perfectly suited for entertaining.
Upstairs there are the two substantial bedrooms, each with it's own fireplace and bathroom. The master bedroom is quite large and has a wonderful hallway that leads to the master bath, with a beautifully tiled, glass enclosed shower. Beaten copper double sinks and beautifully tiled throughout as well. There are boveda and barrel vault ceilings in some of the rooms as well. Wifi, television in both bedrooms, cable, laundry room with stackable washer and dryer as well as a charming roof top terrace. Walt Trask the owner of this home is the most charming, accommodating, personable and service oriented owners you could ever meet. The manager of the home is always available to help with any questions. And Maru the maid who is there to clean twice a week is so sweet and has such a kind heart.
You cannot ask for a better location for this home. It's just a short walk to the Jardin. As well as to most of the lively and delicious restaurants of every kind. My favorite is Mare Nostrum! It's has become one of my favorite restaurants in San Miguel to eat at. It's right around the corner from the house and the owners are so welcoming. I adore this house and it's owner. It's truly my perfect home away from home.

San Miguel de allende is a wonderful experience...that experience is made simply superb by staying in the historic centre in a Spanish Colonial-style home in modern comfort with wonderful staff and excellent management. Being mere steps from El Jardin (the main square) puts you at the centre of art, restaurants, entertainment, 18th century architecture and the cultural celebrations for which San Miguel is justly famous. Walk everywhere without the hills that, while part of San Miguel's charm, can be daunting. In effect, there are two beautiful master suites that make it an ideal rental for a couple to entertain guests or for two couples. We would stay here again and have recommended it to good friends who have done so with pleasure.

We very much enjoyed our three month stay in this beautifully designed house. An interior courtyard with a fountain gave us pleasure both day and night. The kitchen was well equipped and the house easily handled quests.Whenever our own knowledge lagged regarding the gas or electrical issues these were very efficiently dealt with by the local property manager. The housekeeper is delightful.
In addition to being within walking distance to numerous shops and restaurants it is also close to the Instituto De allende and other locations for art , language and fitness classes.
We very much look forward to returning.
