A Special Place in Paradise
Casa Ladera is our two level, comfortably furnished, tropical style beach house located in the friendly seaside fishing village of San Francisco, Nayarit (known locally as San Pancho), just 25 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Our hillside house overlooks the mile long white sand beach of Playa San Francisco with unobstructed views of the ocean, the sunset and mountains to the south. A quick stroll down a cobblestone lane brings you onto the beach and a half mile walk takes you into the village of San Pancho.

We have vacationed in San Pancho for over 10 years with the last 4 at Casa Ladera. This is a wonderful spot to have a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. The house is tastefully decorated in the Mexican style with many personal touches of the owners; it feels like visiting someone's home. The kitchen is well-equipped, including cookbooks. There are several outdoor dining spaces; there is nothing like enjoying a meal on the deck while watching the birds and fishing boats, spotting whales, or losing yourself in the calming influence of the ocean in front of you. Casa Ladera is perfect for families or two couples vacationing together. The two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are spacious and afford plenty of privacy. Joel and Livier make guests feel comfortable and at home. They are a delightful couple always willing to help you in any way they can. Casa Ladera provides a restful oasis away from the frenetic pace of everyday life. The village of San Pancho is within easy walking distance of Casa Ladera and has a good selection of restaurants, unique gift shops, art boutiques, and small grocery stores. San Pancho is a safe, family-oriented community and the residents are very welcoming and friendly.

Casa Ladera is about a block above the beach--just far enough for a beautiful ocean view or a short walk to the water. The house is tastefully and comfortably furnished, with a real beach feel and flare. We especially appreciated sitting on the upper deck enjoying the view, including an afternoon of whale watching. We also enjoyed walking on the beach to San Pancho for lunch.
Judy and Lee are great hosts, who have thought about what their guests might need or want--books, Cd's, Dvd's, and tips for enjoying San Pancho. The staff members were efficient and helpful; we particularly enjoyed the breakfast Joel prepared for us on our last day.
My husband and I shared the house with another couple, our friends. There was plenty of privacy as well as common space to enjoy each others' company. The house would be appropriate and comfortable for either one or two couples.
San Pancho is a charming, relaxed town, not overrun with tourists--the perfect place for a vacation. And Casa Ladera was also relaxed and charming! -

Our short time in San Pancho was a wonderful vacation, made extra special by the accomodations at Casa Ladera and our hosts, Judy & Lee Parker. Located with a great ocean view (whale watching from the terrace), Casa Ladera is a short beach walk into town. San Pancho is clean and upscale with fine restaurants and interesting shops. The accomodating staff provides a pampered lifestyle. Many other interesting sights are a short car ride away. The next visit will be longer than our few nights.

This was our third stay at Casa Ladera. We have been going every other year and stay towards the begining of January. This trip was a little different for us this year because we invited some friends. My wife and I stayed in Casa Ladera and our friends stayed in La Casita. We did miss not seeing Lee & Judy but we felt it may be better if we rented both places and it worked out very well. Casa Ladera is peaceful, relaxing, and the views are incredible. This is our "do nothing" vacation and we enjoy every minute of our time in San Pancho. Joel and Livier take pride and personal care of the grounds and Casas - it's like you are at your own 5 Star Resort. A typically day starts with a short walk down the beach and into the Village for breakfast. Back to the Casa, hang out till an evening cocktail and watch the sun set from the patio or on the beach. Back to the Village for dinner, kick back at the Casa and then start the day all over again. If you want activity, you can find it - there's plenty around (I did go for a few beach and jungle runs). We started missing Casa Ladera as soon as we backed out of the driveway. We'll be back.
