The property was very nice, well kept and looked just as advertised. The property management was very helpful and we made use of the free kayaks and bicycles. It is a bit of a trek into town (about 2 miles) which took an hour to walk or 15 minutes by bike, but we knew this going in. There are some restaurants nearby but choices are somewhat limited. The restaurant at the hotel was mediocre at best and very slow. All in all, we were very pleased with the unit, location and upkeep of the property and were glad we made the choice to stay here.

Very nice condo and amenities to make our stay on the island perfect. Ben and the staff were welcoming and strived to meet all of our requests. The condo had a great ocean view, plenty of room and the pool and grounds were clean and inviting. Not too big, not too small. Close to town and free use of the bikes and kayaks was nice. Easy to walk to half dozen restaurants. Descriptions and pictures on the listing and web site were accurate and we were very pleased we made White Sands Cove our selection for a great vacation.

United StatesOK experience but linens smelled
Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The biggest concern I had with this place was that all the sheets, towels and cloth furniture had a smell of something that was damp and not sufficiently dried. Everything was clean but I felt dirty after sleeping in the bed or sitting on sofa because of the smell. The location is far from town so you need to take a $5 on way water taxi ride to get into town. It was really nice to have a kitchen though and cook our own food. I did not like the food at the resort - wish there was more local food and fresh fruits. Scuba diving was good but a little short (~3 hrs) for the price - $40 and you still had to pay $10 fee for marine reserve and $10 rental fee for equipment. This location was ok but I would like to find something better for the price and they just really need to get new linens and towels.

WSC was wonderful! Beautiful, clean, relaxing. The management could not have been more helpful, kind and accommodating. Marlon (the property manager) is awesome! He is always around to help with your plans. We went on two excursions - snorkeling and the BBQ trip. Had a complete blast. The boys caught a ton of fish, even spear fishing and the guides (all are brothers) were very patient and informative. I would highly recommend this resort!

I cannot say enough good things about White Sands. Marlon was great! Our flight was cancelled and Marlon made other arrangements so that we could stay another day. He redid our flight from the island going to and from. The last day we did have to change rooms, but we got to stay and did not lose a day. Any time we had an issue Marlon was right there to do whatever he could to make it right.
When we arrived he put our bags in a wheel barrel and took them to our room. The day that we had to change rooms, he made sure that all our bags were moved and any groceries that we purchased. We went to town and did not have to lift a finger. The pool bar is nice and the pool its self was great.
Our room was right on the beach. The sand was always clean and there is some places that you can walk to eat or just eat right there.
We did take a tour to the temples booked through White Sands. It was with Sea Duce. That will be another review but I think White Sands should consider a different company.
The only thing that I wish it had was a beach that you can walk into the water, but even without that it is a great place to stay. Rooms were clean, AC in the bedrooms and everything else that you might need.
I would stay there again no questions asked! -

Our experience at White Sands Cove was awesome. We travel pretty extensively and found the property to be top of the line. The pool is great and the amenities, including free bicycle and kayak rentals, were also fantastic. The staff was also able to organize any snorkel or dive trips or any other excursions. We liked that the unit had a full kitchen so we made breakfast ourselves every morning. Overall, it was a great property and we loved our time there.

Belize may be a beautiful destination but the only possibility to have some action is water concerned and besides the fact that the islands not only are already very polluted but also very overpriced, specially the diving and snorkeling activities. If you decide to go there prepare yourself to poor quality but very overpriced activities, as well the water activities as the restaurants.

Left on 03/11/2012 for a stay in November 2011
White Sands Cove is a very nice resort to enjoy that getaway and leave with great memories. We were not sure about Belize since it was always the "Scuba Divers" spot to go!! Neither one of us scuba and I can say that there is plenty of things to experience and fall in love with in Belize and White Sands. The trip was so stress free for us since Marlon (Property Manager) handled our flight bookings to and from San Pedro and Belize City and getting us to the resort via water taxi was also a great way to start our vacation experience. Upon arriving at the resorts dock we were greeted by Marlon and quickly he had us up to the "palapa" to enjoy our welcome beverage, get our keys, quick info on the property and then told to just relax and enjoy the drink and the weather while our luggage was taken up to our unit. We enjoyed having the 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit overlooking the water...simply breath taking from the minute we got there all the way until the day we left. The unit was perfectly appointed for us, wonderful warm living area, with large screen cable television again overlooking the water!!! so we did not watch alot of TV. Nice kitchen with all we needed for breakfast and snacks with a great dining area to eat and have some drinks. The bedroom was perfect and again all we can say is this was the perfect home away from home, did not feel anything missing...well except a little stress we left back in Chicago. Tom and Dawn (Owners) and Marlon are wonderful for many reasons, Tom and Dawn for a new friendship we developed with them and how they made us so welcome and for Marlon for all of the effort and detail he handles for offsite excursions as well as some very special event he helped me with. Marlon was able to set up a "Surprise" wedding vow renewal without my wife knowing. I had reached out to Dawn a few weeks before our trip and asked for some help from them and I can tell you it was almost as perfect as our "real wedding". Marlon had transformed the beachfront to a Chapel under the palms looking out to the water, simply wonderful and a memory that will never leave us. Thank you for the care you all had in making our experience a memorable one as well as creating a sense of belonging that really makes us want to return time and time again. The resort is a quiet resort with a great spot on the coast, close enough to local beach restaurants, bars, entertainment and also a short walk (half hour) to San Pedro where we had alot of fun, especially at Fido's. If you want offsite excursions jsut let Marlon know what interests you and he will take care of the booking and schedule for the trip(s). He set up a snorkeling trip for us and it was great, a private guide and boat took us out to the Barrier Reef to check out the coral and then the experience of Shark alley and swimming inches from the sharks and large rays in their habitat...sinmply incredible...a day trip out to the Mayan Ruins and clilmbing up the tomb where you can see for miles was also great, the howler monkeys jumping from tree to tree, the ancient ruins as we toured the land...another memorable experience. I would for sure recommend White Sands to all of our friends and family without thinking twice. Kudos to White Sands Staff for making our stay and our renewal of wedding vows such a great experience and memories never to be lost.

Wake Forest, NC8 Days Was NOT Enough
Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We had a wonderfully restful time in this beautiful slice of paradise. We were close enough to be in the fray and active when we wanted to be, and far enough away so that we had the privacy and peace we sought when that was what we wanted. This was a wonderful trip and the people of Ambergris Caye were warm, honest and friendly.

We found the Resort at White Sands Cove to be a wonderful smaller resort with beautiful room, grounds, swimming pool with direct ocean access to clear water (beyond most of the seagrass) via their dock extending out into the sea. The resort is a little far from town but walkable one way along the beach and only a $20 US taxi ride back. We purchased our liquor and wine at the duty/tax free store in the airport before flying to the island and stopped for groceries and fruit for breakfast and snacks during our taxi ride from the San Pedro airport to the resort. We went bicycling one day but the chain on one broke 5 miles from the resort and a second one had a flat tire--oh well, nice walk back. We booked a tour to Lamanai one day--the ruins were nice but unremarkable and we decided it was too long a trip (25 mile boat ride + 1 hour bus ride + another 25 mile boat ride just to get there, and the same on our return). We booked with Searious Adventures (waterside office at the south end of Barrier Reef Drive) and saved 10% by using a discount coupon from the HOT Tourist Brochure (red cover--available at the airports and around town). Food at the restaurant at the resort was very good, although a little expensive, but no more so than any other restaurant on the island and they happily prepared several items that we asked for which were a little different than described on the menu. This is a great place to swim, sun and relax and we were well pleased with our experience. Doris, who ran the bar and took our dinner/snack orders was very accommodating and Marlon, the on-site manager was very pleasant, although he did not seem knowledgeable about booking tours or renting a golf cart. We walked up the beach to Captain Morgan's Resort and booked a golf cart there, and got a good price. They did charge us a $10 delivery fee to bring it from town but we returned it to town at the end of the day and then stayed in town for dinner and took a cab home. Worked out nice.

Chicago, ILLOVED EVERYTHING
Left on 02/23/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Where do I start? White Sands Cove is simply lovely. Marlon and the rest of the staff are fantastic - helpful and friendly. Marlon has a magical way of appearing every time you need to see him. We never waited longer than 30 seconds at the office before he would show up and help us with our requests. He booked all our activites - the Lamanai trip with guide Daniel Nunez of Tanisha Tours was simply spectacular - I will definitely do that again and will request Mr. Nunez again as he is the perfect guide - thanks for choosing him Marlon. Marlon even gave the three of us a coconut each at my niece's request :) I got back to Chicago a day and a half ago and if my dog weren't here waiting for me, i'd be sorry to have come home. I stayed at WSC with my boyfriend and our 15 year old niece. We chose WSC on the strength of the reviews we had read and it was the right choice. The condo we stayed in was a 2 bedroom ocean front condo on the top floor. It was spotless and comfortable. We stopped at the store (a stop offered by the driver who meets you at San Pedro airport) and bought our breakfast ingredients and so enjoyed a cooked breakfast every morning. The kitchen has all the utensils to do this. We ate at the pool bar twice and cleaned our plates both times. The pool was chilly, but perfectly clean and refreshing for me after I ran to town and back one morning. San Pedro had experienced a 'cold' snap just before our arrival, so i'm sure the pool is usually warmer. The grounds are kept pristine. The view is classic Caribbean - beautiful blue sea lined with palm trees and beaches here and there. Be warned though - the locals have wisely decided not to clear the sea grass from the shores as it would destroy habitat and have serious ecological consequences, thus if you wish to swim, either swim off the end of the pier (it has steps to the water) or use the pool. WSC is roughly 2 miles from San Pedro town, which makes for a pleasant bike ride on roads passing

Glastonbury, CT, United Statesdon't expect much of a beach....
Left on 01/01/2011 for a stay in December 2010
Our condo was lovely: spacious, clean and very comfortable. However, we were somewhat disappointed with White Sands. The management seemed lackadaisical, and responded only slowly to our needs and requests. Our sense was that they just didn't care that much about our needs. Also, if you go to Ambergris at all you should be prepared for the fact that you really don't swim here. The beach is consistently narrow along the length of the island, and when we visited it was too windy even for sea kayaking. Getting to and from town is an issue too, since you are either dependent on the irregular schedule (and fares) of the water taxis, or you have to risk your life renting a golf cart to drive around in.
