Wilmington, North CarolinaWeek in paradise!
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2011
The house is a wonderful property. You do share a pool with two other houses but the week were were there we had it to ourselves. Great restaurants on either side of the property and a few others in walking distance. The only down side was that it was a long ride to town. We rented golf carts to go back and forth and the roads were dusty and very bumpy. You can do the water taxi but with 8 of us we opted for the golf carts.

Left on 03/04/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We stayed at Solaria Villa I for 8 days beginning Feb 25. The house is beautiful and has a great layout. Our group had 4 couples and there was plenty of room to gather and room for alone time as well. The house is a bit far from town but we rented a golf cart and our dive shop picked us up at the pier in front of the house for diving so the distance wasn't a big issue. The ocean breeze was fantastic on the balcony and inside the house so aC wasn't needed. Jose opened coconuts for us and kept the beach very clean and the housekeeper did dishes and washed towels. The pool was great- a little chilly but very nice after a bike ride into town. We were very happy we decided to stay there.

What a wonderful property with every amenity required for a great holiday, stylishly decorated and with perfect views - we could not have asked for more. All staff were incredibly helpful and the location was just close enough but just far enough away from the town. I would highly recommend!

New YorkFeels Like Home (or what you'd want your Dream Home to be)
Left on 06/23/2011 for a stay in April 2011
I am not sure how to write this review in a way that will do true justice to how absolutely perfect this property is. I spent a wonderfully relaxing few days here. I live and work in NYC, and the vacation was the closest I have ever come to unwinding completely from my hectic life.
The island (San Pedro) is absolutely beautiful where the locals are ridiculously friendly, the food, delicious, and the sea, well its that crazy aquamarine color that you see on postcards and that you don't believe exists in reality.
The house itself is on the ocean, is serene, comfortable and immaculate, each of the four rooms with its own bathroom and balcony (two of which are suites).
But it is the small things that set this property apart from any other holiday home I have been in. It is decorated not as a holiday home, but as someone's primary home. Each of the rooms has high end furniture and spotless linens/towels. The artwork is beautiful and fits in perfectly with the surroundings and whilst giving a nod to the Island's culture, not obvious and touristy.
In addition, the owners have thought of everything you might need and included it. The kitchen is fully equipped, there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer, there are beach towels to use with the pool (or on the beach), there are four beach bikes in the garage for the guest's use. There is a huge dining table for shared meals, books, music...the list is endless.
Rachel, the property's charming manager arranged for us to spend a day on a boat, and one night had local cooks come in to prepare and serve us a three course meal. That evening was my favorite, eating delicious food, drinking fabulous wine, laughing and talking with friends late into the night.
This is a tranquil property which is very well taken care of and offers you the luxury of a high-end hotel in the comfort of a family home.

San Juan, Puerto RicoAbsolutely fabulous villa and staff!
Left on 11/18/2010 for a stay in November 2010
We stayed in this fabulous villa from November the 4th to the 11th and we wish we could have stayed at least another week! This first thing that attracted me to this villa when I was searching was its tropical look. Well, walking into this beautiful villa not only confirmed the look but also the feel! If I'm going to fly thousands of miles to stay in the Caribbean I would like to feel like I'm in the Caribbean and this villa fits that description perfectly. The furniture, the woodwork, the landscaping and the views.. and what views!!! The villa is more beautiful than the pictures you see on the internet. Sonia, who was part of our group, wants to take the exact villa and replace her home with it. Absolutely stunning!
Rachael Eteson manages the villas and also organizes trips and activities for you. She has been on the island a couple of years now and knows everyone, where to dine and what to do. The villa comes with a cellphone which was handier than I expected. We were in town without our "where to eat" list so I called her and within seconds we were sitting at Estelle's (a must eat!). We had a number for a water taxi (Armando - we call him the Big Kahuna) and called him when in town so we could get back to the villa. The cellphone is a definte plus. Rachael even got our provisions for us ahead of time so we wouldn't have to go food shopping. She organizes the stay so that we are taken care of from beginning to end. I truly believe that "service and attention" are Rachael's middle name.
Right next door is Rendevouz Restaurant with Shaggy as the bartender/waiter/complaint taker(we had none!)/best cheeseburger maker and his Mojitos (quite famous we confirmed). The food at Rendevouz was excellent. One of us had the Spider crab and she is still talking about how delicious it was. Right next to Rendevouz is White Sands Scuba for the scuba enthusiasts. The location of this villa is quite perfect.
The day we went ziplining and tubing we decided to use the catering services of Shelley and Mercie Huber. This was arranged through Rachael. We figured we would be too tired to cook or go out and eat. What a great decision!!! Apart from the food being fantastically delicious, Shelley and Mercie were just as sweet and gracious as could be. They were punctual, clean, professional and a hoot to talk to. A coulple of days before we had gone out on the Marley Jean for a day at Hol Chan and Shark Ray alley, and a visit to Caulker Caye. The boat captain is Chris, who happens to be Shelley's son, and his first mate is Jeffrey, who is Chris's first cousin. And one of the advantages to going out on the Marley Jean??? The food is prepared by Shelley! I think, no - I know, I had three servings of her shrimp. Chris and Jeffrey are a delight to be with. We never felt rushed. We loved to hear Jeffrey's stories and his early youth (he's 27) on the island. He was funny as can be. My hat's off to his mother for her patience! Chris actually held a Sting Ray and a shark for us to touch. My husband took pictures of me touching them or our kids wouldn't believe I actually had. I can't remember the last time I saw so many fish. It was a beautiful day out in the ocean.
We also had two employees from the Black Orchid come to the villa to give us massages. They set up two massage tables in the master bedroom. It was like a spa in your own home! The aroma alone was relaxing. This is a must!
As for dining, we didn't have one bad meal. They were all actually very good. We loved Wild Mangoes, Estelles, Rendevouz, Rojo Lounge, etc. Our best food guide was Rachael. She recommended Rojo Lounge for lunch and an afternoon of relaxation and snorkleling. It's just a ten minute bike ride from the villa. The food was fantastik and the home made ice cream - yummy! I ordered two deserts! The ambiance is lovely. While Jessie and Sonia snorkled at their pier I sat with Tigri, a very friendly cat that belongs to Rojo Lounge, as she slowly melted on my lap. I can't remember the last time I felt so content just sitting there with this friendly feline on my lap as I watched my sister and friend snorkle at the pier. Pure bliss!
As for the staff all I can say is thank you! Lina cleaned the villa, while José tended to the grounds and anything that might arise that needs fixing. We would call him and within minutes he was at our door. Lina was a joy to talk to and everyday we would get home to an immaculate villa! Shanti picked us up at the airport and was an instant hit with my brother-in-law, Javier. Javier is a college footballl fanatic and nobody in our group was going to give up a Saturday to watch a game. Well, lo and behold, Shanti is also a football fanatic and the expression on Javier's face was priceless when he realized he was not alone! Thank you Shanti.
To wrap this up our whole group feels that this was one of the best vacations ever taken. When you take into consideration the location, the villa, food, weather, staff, the people of Belize, how well we were treated we give it an a+. We will be back! -

We spent a wonderful week at the Solaria Villa and we loved absolutely everything about this gorgeous house! From the moment we got off the boat, we knew we'd selected the perfect beachfront vacation villa. The ocean view of the barrier reef from the comfortable seating area or the beautiful infinity pool is just spectacular. The furniture and decorating is lovely throughout the spacious house, the beds are super comfortable, and every amenity we could have imagined was provided. We happily cooked meals in the well-appointed kitchen and enjoyed some of the great restaurants located close by. We hated to leave and will definitely be back to the most beautiful villa on San Pedro!

LondonUnique villa on beautiful North Beach San Pedro
Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in April 2010
We spent 10 days in the beautiful Solaria 1 villa. The villa is beautifully spacious with a great communal living area on the first floor leading to a balconey with views over the reef - lovely to hang out on in the evening. The bedrooms are all very generous with gorgeous en-suites. The communal pool is also lovely and looks out to the ocean - there are some nice chairs around the poolside for reading and sun-bathing. The White Sands dive shop is just across the beach, so the villa is perfectly located for divers, which was ideal for us during our stay on ambergris Caye. An individual villa complex in a beautiful beachside environment!

Bishops Stortford5star luxury holiday with attention paid to every detail
Left on 05/28/2010 for a stay in June 2009
When we have such buzy non stop lifestyles, holidays have to be perfect and stress free. Our stay at Solaria was just that. Rachael made our holiday that extra bit luxourious with her personal touches and certainly stress free! The villa is true paradise - on the beach surrounded by coconut trees, an amazing thai restaurant just yards away, white sand and crystal clear blue sea. Rachael can organise anything you want or need or can simply advise ie, she can organise dive trips, snorkelling, fishing, she can tell you where to go shopping for anything you might want - she can even organise you takeaways to be delivered to the villa - all by boat of course! Staying at Solaria was like having that 5 star hotel attention to detail service but not being confined to the hotel's facilities & being very private too. Rachael treated us like stars & nothing was too much trouble.

Left on 05/27/2010 for a stay in April 2010
The location is wonderful, the staff is incredibly sharp, helpful and respectful, it's next door to Rendezvous - one of the best restaurants on the island - and a dive shop, and they provide easy transportation to town and other island attractions.
Besides, there's nothing like waking up in your comfy king size bed in your gorgeous vacation house, pouring yourself a cup of coffee in the well equipped kitchen, then wandering out to your private balcony to enjoy a gorgeous view of the reef and the nice ocean breeze.
Thanks to all the staff at Solaria for making my time in Belize so memorable!

BrusselsWonderful place to relax in style
Left on 05/27/2010 for a stay in January 2010
My girlfriend and I spent a wonderful two weeks at Solaria in January 2010. What a great escape from Europe's worst winter in years! The house is beautiful, with a wonderful balcony overlooking the sea, elegant bathrooms with twin wash basins, luxurious beds, stylish furnitue (you can tell one of the owners is in interior design), and a great swimming pool. Rachel looked after us incredibly well -- friendly, efficient and a mine of information about what to see and do. The beach is perfect for walking, jogging or bike riding and there's an excellent boat service you can use from early morning until late at night for trips into town or to local restaurants. My top tip: a morning bike ride along the beach to the local yoga retreat, a mile or two away.
