Description from the owner

Explore our home, your home …

It began as a vacation. Upon arriving on Ambergris Caye Diana and I were mesmerized by the beauty of the water, the sky, and the island.

The week was filled each day with snorkeling, fishing, exploring, and simply observing the majesty of nature. We cooked fresh fish and lobster, and ate succulent fruits and vegetables; truly delicious food. This was a place where we knew we wanted to be. Within the next couple of months we found property in the most exclusive part of the island, Mexico Rocks. Utilizing the principles of Feng Shui, our intention was to build one of the most beautiful homes on the is...Read more

Could not have made a better choice!

Left on 02/22/2013 for a stay in February 2013

What a beautiful place!!! After looking at several options, we knew Casa Rana would exceed our requirements! My entire group admitted that we had "never slept better" due to the homes premium quality beds and furniture. The only thing better then the home was the hosts! Diana & Richard gave us the royal treatment, making sure that we were taken care of and had everything we needed. They went out of their way to make sure that we had the best time and helped set up several excursions that met our special needs. The comfort of the home, and the serenity of the views from the house perfected our vacation. I would highly recommend staying at Casa Rana! You will not only be glad you did, but will be reluctant to leave once you stay at this magical place!

Thanks so much for having us Diana & Richard!

      Casa Rana Rocks!!!

Left on 02/03/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Casa Rana is amazing! It has to be one of the most beautiful homes we’ve ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many! It’s absolutely huge, with plenty of room for a lot of people, and it was just the two of us. Everything is flawless, and top notch. Everything from the faucets, to the couches, to the kitchen appliances, and everything in-between, definitely top of the line. The interior design is out of this world, practically a museum with cool artifacts from all over the world. Comfy was not the word. We were beyond comfy! And the house is just steps from the water, so views, views, views, from every spot. The pool was awesome and my favorite spot, the views from the master bedroom were to die for, and the private chairs at the end of the dock were perfect. Richard and Diana are wonderful people with big hearts and a dedication to make your trip as perfect as possible. They took care of all our excursions, reservations, recommendations, water taxis, snorkeling adventures, kayaking, and everything in-between. Everyone in town knows them well, and so we felt that we were “special guestsâ€. The price per night is a steal. We have paid much more for much less many times, so we were shocked how cheap it was. To get such a massive, flawless gorgeous picture perfect house, right on the water, with hosts of their caliber is amazing. We had a fabulous 5 days there and plan on returning soon! Thank you Casa Rana!!!

      Great thanksgiving!

Left on 12/15/2012 for a stay in November 2012

Our family of 5 loved our Thanksgiving holiday at Casa Rana. We had great food in San Pedro, at Portofino, at Rojo, and from the grill and kitchen at the house. We snorkeled with the sharks and rays and on the reef right in front of the house. We did a half day fishing trip and caught fish from our own dock. We all slept in the hammock, relaxed on the porch and had a wonderful rest. Diana is certainly in the running for host of the year!

Amazing haven of tranquility and comfort

Left on 11/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We split our Belize vacation into two - 5 days in the jungle river tubing, cave exploring, horseback riding, and visiting Mayan ruins - followed by 6 days of beach paradise at Casa Rana. It was perfectly timed as we were suitably tired and ready for relaxation by the time we got to ambergris. Diana welcomed us at the private dock and introduced us to the gorgeous house. It was even more beautiful than what the pictures indicate on the website. It was very spacious for just my husband and I but we loved having all the amenities of the house, including the very comfortable media room (with large DVD collection), amazing master bedroom with view over the sea, the very well-equipped kitchen, plunge pool, dining room with fantastic mood lighting, reading nook, and my very favorite - private dock where we could just sit and watch the dolphins, rays, and fish swim around. Diana has put so much love into building this house as you can see from all the little touches and special designs. It was very peaceful to wake up every day to our own little quiet haven where we could thoroughly enjoy the beauty of nature's creations in a luxurious setting. We enjoyed snorkeling at Hol Chan and Shark Ray alley (organized through White Sands Dive Shop), dinner at Portofino (they will do free pick up and drop off by boat), kayaking out for 5 minutes to Mexico Rocks and snorkeling there, and swimming around the dock to see Diana's little "aquarium" in the rocks around the dock. We bought groceries in San Pedro town right after landing at the airport and did another shopping trip in town during our stay but otherwise, enjoyed how secluded we were in a self-sufficient environment far away from the noise of town and large resorts. Both Richard and Diana were incredibly helpful and friendly while giving us as much privacy as we needed. Highly recommended for couples looking for a romantic getaway or families/groups looking for a high-end self-catering beach vacation.

      True Paradise!

Left on 08/03/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This was our first trip to Casa Rana & I must say that without a doubt it was the most awesome, relaxing and rejuvenating trip ever! The owners Diana & Richard were so very helpful in our planning. When we off the boat onto the dock at Casa Rana, we truly stepped into paradise! There are not enough perfect words to describe Casa Rana. From the large bedrooms each with their own private bath, to the fully equipped kitchen, to the hammock nestled under the palm trees, everything was perfect! Diana's flare for decorating made the house mesmerizing. We had pre-ordered groceries which had already been delivered & the beverages already chilled waiting for us. My grandsons loved snorkeling & fishing right from the pier. Diana personally arranged any & all excursions anyone wanted to do. Some went to the Mayan Ruins, one went diving, we all went on a catamaran snorkeling excursion which included Shark & Ray alley. Even though I was on vacation, I got up most every morning to watch the sunrise. I have some the most beautiful pictures ever! If I got tired later, I would just take a nap in the hammock under the palm trees. Diana was available to answer any & all questions. She made us feel so welcomed. Casa Rana is the perfect location if you want a vacation to do nothing at all but rest & relax. It is also perfect if you want some extra fun with all the excursions available. Two of my group wanted massages, which Diana arranged to be done at Casa Rana. I went for long walks along the beach where my grandsons had a ball finding conch shells. In the past we have stayed at big island resorts where there were lots of people all around all the time. At Casa Rana, there is no having to worry about reserving beach chairs in morning; finding a spot near the pool; having to wait in line to check in or out; having to wait in lines at restaurants. Casa Rana is ideal for those wanting a paradise vacation without all the hassles. My 1 & only complaint: 7 nights is not enough.

Casa Rana sunrise another sunrise here comes the sun awakening a favorite spot Casa Rana view from the front porch relaxing under the palms Palm shadow waving good bye
