Description from the owner

Situated on the hillside of the Adriatic Sea, Villa Davide offers 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a rooftop terrace overlooking the Adriatic Sea and the Maiella Mountains. The town of San Vito Chietino offers sweeping views of the sea and the wonderful trabochi fishing piers. This magical escape sleeps 6 comfortable with two large Queen bedrooms and one twin bedroom. Villa Davide enjoys many stairs and steps hence, not handicap accessible. Very little English is spoken in San Vito Chietino but I offer you a book upon rental with recommendations for shopping, restaurants and how to order meals!

I wish I could live here!

Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in October 2010

I spent a fabulous week at Villa Davide in the fall of 2010 with five friends. The villa is open, airy and easily spacious enough to accommodate us all. The house is very tastefully appointed and immaculately kept, and Cathy keeps it stocked with all essentials (like espresso!) plus tour books, maps, restaurant and day trip recommendations, etc. The hilltop town is picture-postcard charming. We loved going out every day for first a latte on the corner, then practicing a bit of Italian with the friendly proprietors to procure fresh/local everything (bread, fruit, olives, cheese, wine!), which we often consumed on the rooftop terrace with its magnificent views of mountains on one side and the shimmering adriatic on the other. When a rare fit of ambition overtook us, we would walk down to the town proper to get a gelato or stroll the beach. My one caveat is that both the villa and the town involve a fair bit of stair climbing. For me, it was great exercise to balance out the higher caloric intake, but possibly an issue some people would need to consider. Incredibly fun, interesting and relaxing vacation, truly -- highly recommend and look forward to returning!
