Saramanda is a luxurious 5 bedroom villa in the heart of the Sandy Lane Estate in St James on the west coast of Barbados with a large swimming pool and exclusive access to the Sandy Lane Beach Club and all the Sandy Lane facilities including golf, tennis and the spa just a stone's throw away. The villa comes with staff including a cook, maid, laundress and a dedicated villa manager as well as nightly security, and is 5 minutes away from all the amenities of Sunset Crest and Holetown, including duty free shopping, restaurants and supermarkets.

We stayed at Saramanda, an incredible 5-bedroom villa with its own large pool. The staff (thanks Nora and Phyllis!) really made our stay special by helping us learn to get around town, and even showed us how to prepare a Bajan-style fish dinner. We have some significant dietary restrictions and the staff-prepared meals are so much easier than having to worry about what you're ordering in a restaurant. Beach access was gorgeous and calm, with umbrellas and lounge chairs.
We loved the easy walk from Saramanda to shopping, grocery, beach, etc. Barbados bus transportation was great, and the house book included names/numbers for drivers, which you can use for a tour of the island or to get to other out-of-the-way places such as St. Nicholas Abbey. We were fine without a car, but larger families who want to see more of the island may want to consider renting a vehicle.
