Bedford, NHGreat Place to Stay with Teenagers
Left on 05/13/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We had a great visit with our 2 teenagers in april. The weather was not great, but we tried not to let the rain deter us. We were very happy to have all the extra space in a house. It would have been close quarters with all of us in a single hotel room. We rented scooters and the cement pad outside was great for them. Oleander Cycles dropped them off and picked them up for us. The best part of our stay was having the owner let us email a grocery list and she did the shopping for us before we arrived to cover the first few days. She then took us to get more groceries after we arrived. We saved lots of money being able to eat at home. Thanks, Karen!

Almonte, Ontario, CanadaA great home away from home!

We just returned from a very enjoyable 9-day vacation in Bermuda, staying at Drybrow on Somerset Island. I would definitely recommend this accommodation. This is a well-equipped country vacation home set into the side of a hill near Somerset Bridge. The floors are completely tiled. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, two bathrooms, gas BBQ and a large patio. It was very spacious for two couples. There was even a computer on a desk in the living room which we found very helpful for checking the weather, E-mails and restaurant reviews. It had Wi-Fi for connecting to my Playbook. The owner is a very gracious host and was helpful during preparations for the trip and during our stay.
We all had one-week bus passes which were obtained for us by Karen. These were very convenient for getting around Bermuda. I had previously printed the bus schedules from the government web site. During the day, busses ran every 15 minutes along Middle Road, but in the evenings the frequency was half-hourly or hourly, so knowing the schedule was helpful. Our flashlight was handy for the 3-minute walk from the bus stop at night.
The location is away from the street, quiet and seemed very safe. It included a large lawn which went down to the Great Sound where there was a small private wharf and kayaks.
Drybrow is located on Bluebird Lane which is a short private road directly on the Railway Trail.
The taxi ride from the airport was about $60 and took about 50 minutes. All of the taxi drivers encountered were very helpful and informative. When I left my bag in one of the taxis by mistake, the driver brought it around to the house promptly after a phone call. The Bermudians we encountered were all very friendly and helpful.
We found large supermarkets in Hamilton and Warwick (Lindo's). Smaller grocery stores are north in Somerset Village and south two bus stops along Middle Road.
We would definitely return to Drybrow when visiting Bermuda.

Nyack, New YorkA home from home and so much more
Left on 01/18/2013 for a stay in December 2012
It was our first family christmas away from home and very last minute but how fortunate we were in our choice of staying at Drybrow. Certainly a home from home, with Karen and her family showing so much hospitality and generosity of time and help, even putting a christmas tree and lights in the cottage and inviting us to join them and neighbours in the traditional plunge in the sea for Christmas Day and champagne afterwards. The cottage has full amenities with fullsize kitchen [able to cook christmas dinner with all the trimmings] and mainline telephone, wifi and computer. A lot of thought has gone into making guests feel welcome even little things like providing beach towels. Outside a large patio with gas bbq overlooks a large garden and the sea bay. The private garden leads down to your own jetty to swim and snorkel from. You can borrow the family kayaks and paddle across from the sound into a shettlered bay to see the turtles and caves. The property is yards from the main bus routes, alongside the railway trail, and in the quiet end of the island but close to the famous sandy beaches.
We so enjoyed our first Bermuda holiday and would return again to Drybrow, our Bermuda 'home from home'. -

Drybrow is a very spacious cottage with everything you could need.
Thanks to Karen and Mark, they made our stay there very enjoyable.
Karen was there to answer all our questions and made us feel like part of the family. A big shout out to alexandra and Cooper for all your help.
I would say the cottage is situated in a great place- Close enough to the Dockyards, a 10 minute moped ride to all the best beaches and about a 20 minute ride to Hamilton.
The outside patio is massive and we spent most of our time there.
Will definitely be back next year.
Thanks again for a great trip
