Bartlett, ILPerfect For Our Needs
Left on 12/07/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We stayed in this condo for 3 nights in November and it really had everything we needed. It was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. (This is a big deal for me since a bad bed can make for an unpleasant vacation) The two bathrooms were a decent size and the water pressure good. The linen closet had more than enough bath and beach towels. The use of the beach chairs was a very nice touch.
Speaking of the beach, we found Coquina beach to be the second best beach on the island for shelling. The other is one at the very tip of the island before the Captiva bridge. You can't see the sun set from Coquina but it really is a beautiful beach and full of shells. Its extremely easy to get to the beach. You go out the Lanai door, and the bridge to the beach is about 25 yards away.
This was my first trip to Sanibel and my family and I decided this condo really is in a great location. Easy to get to and if you're coming during the busy season it is pretty much a straight shot off the bridge then a few side streets and you're there. No need to try to get through town to get there! There are plenty of places nearby to eat including Dairy Queen if you want a treat.
John was always very prompt in answering my inquiries and sent the keys to me with plenty of time. The return of my security deposit after mailing the keys was about 2 weeks which I thought was reasonable.
Two things to remember while there. You only get one parking space with the rental and there is only one other extra space per lot. This wasn't a problem for us since we were not there during a busy season but you may need to check to find alternate parking if going at a busier time. The other is be careful with the front door. It can easily close behind you if you're running to bring stuff to and from the car and you think it will stay open. We had no issues since someone was in the condo but we noted that you could easily get locked out.
This condo isn't the Taj Mahal but if you're looking for a nice, clean place to stay in a great location for a very reasonable price then this will probably be perfect for your needs too! We would definitely stay here again. -

Brooklyn, New YorkA fabulous condo in both a great location and great community.
Left on 09/05/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I stayed at Beth and John's condo during the last week of July. The apartment was really great. I'd have tea in the mornings on the lanai while the children slept. Then we would suit up and go to the beach, which was literally a stone's throw away from the condo. It's fair to say that it was about a 5 minute walk from the front door to the Gulf. Close enough that we came back mid-day for lunch. We had use of the pool as well and would go every afternoon, when we had had enough sand for the day. The neighbors were very nice, and we would see everyone in the afternoons poolside. It made for a very congenial atmosphere- both the adults and children came away with friends we intend to contact during the rest of the year!
The area is very quiet- even with all the children we personally knew to be on site at the time we were there. The master bedroom was quite large with a very nice bath and separate door to the lanai. The children's bedroom had two twin beds and playful-but not juvenile- tropical decor. Very nicely done. The condo was not musty at all- which is a first for us in a south florida location. (I really appreciated that part the most.)
We will definitely try to rent here again the next time we plan to be in South Florida. -

Newcastle, MaineWonderful stay!

John and Beth have thought of everything to make your stay the best possible! Steps from the beach, short drive or bike ride to grocery or restaurants. Plenty of beach towels and chairs - even a beach umbrella! Plenty to see and do. It was the first time we had stayed on Sanibel Island - we loved it and look forward to going back someday!

Let me start by saying you get a great value on this condo. It is not the Ritz, so you cannot have Ritz expectations for this price. But if you are looking for a good value on a very clean place that is close to tbe beach, I would definitely recommend this. The beach is literally a one minute walk out your door. The condo is very well stocked with everything you need. And like I mentioned, very clean. Owners are very nice to deal with. Will rent here again!

Wichita, KansasEasy walk to the beach
Left on 09/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
After a stifling hot summer here in the Midwest, we were looking forward to gentle ocean breezes, beachcombing and a laid back atmosphere with no set time schedule. We found all three at Coquina Beach condominiums on Sanibel Island. The condo was clean and well appointed. Access to the beach was just miutes away by foot. Being able to walk way out into the ocean and finding treasures on the beach during low tide were big thrills. Location near
the beach and great value for the money made my decision easy to stay at this
Coquina Beach condo. This was our
second trip to Sanibel, but our first stay at John and Beth's condo. The owners thought of everything to make our stay pleasant and glitch free. We will come back again someday. Thank you John and Beth for providing such a pleasant place to stay.
Sincerely, Kip Nixon and family -

Highland Heights, KentuckyNice complex-easy beach and pool access-condo itself needs some
Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The complex was nice and quiet and the beach and pool access were fantastic. However, this condo was disappointing in regard to its maintenance and cleanliness. The cleaning staff looked like they were doing the bare minimum(dusty, handprints on kitchen cabinets, mildew in bathrooms, etc) and there were quite a few things that needed to be repaired(front door didn't close properly, kitchen ceiling tiles drooping, half-repaired drywall in master bath, etc.) I sent a list of items I thought needed to be addressed to the owner, and he told me that it had been a while since he had physically seen the property. He said they were planning on visiting this summer, so hopefully some of the issues will be addressed.

My husband and I have stayed here twice. We like the proximity to the beach and the pool. The condo is very attractive and well-maintained. It is in a quiet location and the beach is not crowded. We will definitely be back!!
