Fallston, MDGreat condo!
Left on 02/02/2013 for a stay in December 2012
First, let me say that we stayed here over the week of Christmas. I wrote a review and it wasn't published - don't know why. So, although this review is late in coming, it is not a reflection of this condo.
The condo is as described - renovated, clean, many amenities, great location. We could not have asked for more. We loved the huge lanai that spanned the living room and bedroom. The room darkening curtains were great in the bedroom. It was so clean and still so comfortable. We used the bikes daily as well as the buckets to wash off our shells. We did minimal cooking but had what we needed for that.
Paula (the owner) left a binder full of tips and highlights of Sanibel. It was our first time and that was very helpful. Since we were there over the holidays, I contacted Paula earlier and asked about some things such as what restaurants were open for Christmas Eve and Christmas. She got back to me with a nice list and some other things to do too. She made us very welcome.
We really enjoyed Sanibel and the condo. The location right along the beach was great in the mornings - which turned out to be the best shelling no matter what. We could just get up and be on the beach. We were also so close to everything else.
As I said, great condo. I would absolutely recommend it and would love to stay there more!

I am so glad you had a good holiday and enjoyed the condo and the island.
Being a new owner, I enjoy learning along with my guests, so I found it interesting to do the research regarding the restaurants that would be open for the holidays. There were many more than I would've guessed.
Thank you for taking the time to write not one but two reviews. Other potential guests do find it helpful and I like to know what I am doing right and where I can improve. Hope to hear from you again sometime. -

Des Moines, Iowa, United StatesGreat location, lovely condo, owner is both gracious and helpful
Left on 12/19/2012 for a stay in December 2012
This is a very nice condo located very close to the beech in the middle of the island. We liked the location as well as the decor, and felt like we had virtually everything we needed to have a great vacation.
We fell asleep at night listening to the sounds of the ocean, and the had a great view of both the stars at night and the beech during the day from the bedroom, the lanai, and the living room. We loved the large amount of natural light that streams into the condo.
The condo is on the 4th floor of a 4 story building and is pretty quiet, except for periodic noise from the parking lot below. We felt very safe the whole time that we were there.
We took advantage of one of several pools available throughout the complex, and the water was really warm (87 degrees according to the pool maintenance guy). We spent hours on the beach and saw a variety of birds including cormorants, snowy egrets, great white herons, brown pelicans, plovers and sand pipers. We saw dolphins swimming near the shoreline.
The owner is very helpful and gracious. Be sure to read the white binder she provides that is full of information about the condo, the island, and beyond. It was really informative and very helpful to us in organizing our vacation.
The condo is stocked with pretty much everything you might need. We especially appreciated having the wagon the first night there. Being able to use it to carry things up via the elevator made settling in all the easier for a couple of weary travelers.
The owner provided very clear directions about how to find the condo and access the keys. The lack of street lighting on Sanibel Island makes it hard to find any building, including the condo. The signage for the condo rental office could have been larger and better lit, but that is not the owner's fault. Needless to say, it took us a while to find the rental office (maybe an extra 5-10 minutes, all told) because of the poor signage and lighting (we came in at about 7 pm during December -- well after the sun had set) and we spent a few extra minutes in the parking lot on the first night trying to find building B. We weren't horribly lost -- just a little unsure of where we were supposed to be going. Anyway, we figured it out without too much trouble. Next time, we will know right where to go.
All in all, we really loved our stay there and can't wait to return this spring. It's a great value for the money, and the owner is super to work with in all aspects of the rental experience.Response from Paula Reiss, Sanibel Delight - 12/25/2012

Unfortunately, the after dark arrival has proved to be a challenge for a couple of guests because, as you stated, the lighting is poor. If there are any clearer directions you might suggest, I am all ears. Since I am a new owner, I am learning some of the challenges and finding solutions, along with you. I do intend to bring this matter up at the annual board meeting this February to see if there is anything that can be done. Thanks for the, otherwise, great review and I hope to host you again.

Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaFeels like your own beach house in the shell country
Left on 12/14/2012 for a stay in December 2012
I stayed for 4 days with my wife during winter holidays. The condo has a gorgeous ocean view from both bedroom and living room balconies. You will find absolutely everything you possibly need during your vacation right from kitchen utensils, beach towels, beach chairs, shelling tools, bikes, games, cable TV, novels and more which make it feel like your very own house. The personal care that Paula has put to make this vacation rental feel like home is evident. She gave us nice and detailed tour tips too which was very much helpful. Immediate attention was paid to any difficulties we had. I will recommend this place very highly for your vacation stay. Its comfort and unique beauty of shell filled beaches of Sanibel makes it real difficult to want to leave.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am happy I was able to meet your expectations, despite the system outage of the cable service and difficulty with the salt affected lock. I appreciate your patience and understanding and am happy you enjoyed the island.

Toronto, CanadaSanibel Delight was delightful
Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in November 2012
The Condo was very comfortable in all respects: very clean, well furnished, new appliances, well equipped kitchen and laundry, and close to all beach sights & sounds we anticipated. This was our first visit to Sanibel ... a very laid back yet vital island. The foliage all over the island was better than you'll find anywhere else, and the people are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our day trips on and off the island. Paula made sure our visit was hassle-free and very enjoyable. We'll be back for sure.

Hanover, MassachusettsGulf breezes, views and sounds make this an exceptional vacation
Left on 11/17/2012 for a stay in November 2012
As advertised, the views from this one bedroom condo are spectacular. From the couch or the bed, you not only see the gulf through the palms but hear the waves rolling onto the beach and enjoy the breezes coming through the spacious lanai. This building has a parking lot between you and the beach but we had no problems with that. It's mainly visible from the lanai. The condo recently was fully remodeled with new furnishings, appliances and countertops making it look like a model unit. My only disappointment was finding out that there actually was an elevator on the far west side of the building...just after lugging our bags up four flights of stairs. The elevator was the only thing that made leaving this spot a bit easier.

I am glad you had a nice stay and found the unit to be as advertised. I want my guests to have a comfortable and relaxing vacation. I am sorry you did not find the elevator on arrival. I even provide a wagon in the storage unit for hauling your belongings. I will review my paperwork and make sure it gives clear directions to the elevator. Thank you for taking the time to alert me to this issue.

The condo was nice if you are not a fussy person. There were 2 of us and I would not have more than that. The lanai was nice and the unit had everthing you would need from towels to cooking utencils.
