      Great stay

Service - excellent; cleanliness - excellent; value - excellent (you get the picture...) Very nice place to stay - grounds are very well kept. Pool - very nice. Kayaks & canoes, tennis courts all available for use. Beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach towels all available for beach use. Tv & cable - lots of books to read, puzzles & games available too. Ed was very easy to work with - really appreciated! Sanibel is like a little slice of heaven and to have a room to go with that - very nice. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an affordable place to stay on Sanibel.

comfortable, clean, peaceful and superb location.

Left on 04/28/2013 for a stay in April 2013

The condo is set in lovely tropical surroundings. It feels very private and peaceful. The condo itself is a little tired but that didn't detract from our enjoyment. Very pleased that the twin room's bathroom had a walk-in shower. The master bathroom had a shower over bath but was fully screened. It was great not to have to contend with a shower curtain . The beds were very comfortable. The sofas were extremely comfortable as were the dining room chairs. Plenty of crockery and cutlery. Very close to the pool but we didn't have time to make use of it, spending most of the time on the lovely pristine beach. There were plenty of kayaks to use and the tennis courts were popular.
The walk to the beach was enjoyable, spotting cardinals near the car ports , herons and great egrets on the bayou and osprey and millipedes on the final sand path. The beach was almost empty at 7:00am. We found lots of lightening whelks, fighting conchs, nutmegs, banded tulips, lettered olives, apple murex, horse conchs, turbans, little wentletraps, tusk shells and rice olives. A few lace murex, crown conchs, sharks eyes, babies ears, periwinkles, cones, worm snails, sharp ribbed drills, figs, pear whelks and tinted cantharus. Also found a 1 inch piece of junonia and a colourful moonsnail. Basicly fab shelling. Saw dolphins one day. On the way back we were able to wash wi the sand off ourselves with a hose.
      Ed made the booking simple.
Great place to stay, wish I was still there!

Comfortable Condo Within Walking Distance of the Best Beach on S

Left on 03/02/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Ed's condo is spacious, clean, comfortable, and very functional. It's not fancy and it doesn't have "updated" decor, but it has comfortable beds and couches, a big six-person dining table, and a decent galley kitchen with a washer/dryer. It has a nice layout, with a bedroom/bathroom on either side of the living/dining area, providing lots of privacy. There are plenty of bed linens, bath and beach towels, plus assorted beach gear: chairs, umbrellas, etc. The condo grounds are lovely and the pool is very nice. Best of all is the beach: it is about a ten-minute walk, through landscaped condo grounds, a little bit of woods, over a footbridge, and then a lovely sand path through the palm trees and sea oats to a gorgeous uncrowded beach. I rented a bike, toured around, and checked out most of the Sanibel and Captiva beaches, and I really do think this is the most peaceful, spacious, beautiful beach of them all. Buildings are way back behind a screen of trees, you can walk for a couple of miles in either direction, and the access from the condo complex is private, pedestrian-only, so this part of the beach was never crowded. Great sunset watching!

This is a residential area a couple of miles west of the town center, so if you want to be in the heart of the "action," it's not a good choice. But if you want a low-key vacation with easy access to a gorgeous beach and to the Ding Darling Refuge, this is the place!

Tip: take advantage of the free kayaks and canoes the condo complex has and paddle around in the little waterway under the footbridge. It may not look like much from where you put in, but it is really beautiful and peaceful, goes back a couple of miles, and we saw at least as many birds there are we did in Ding Darling, with the advantage of almost total privacy. (I think we crossed paths with two other canoes during our two-hour outing.)

The unit was nicely furnished and the staff at Blind Pass were very accomodating. The condo unit had everything we would have wanted to enjoy our beach and recreational experience at the Blind Pass. The kids loved the free access to kayaks on the intercoastal waterway while we relaxed at the beach or pool. The short walk across a bridge to Bowman's Beach was breathtaking and we saw lots of wildlife and seashells throughout our stay.

I loved Sanibel Island and Bowman Beach.

Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Pros: Lovely quiet condo community with nice landscaping. Walk to beach wasn't as bad as some reviews due to the scenery.(but I'm a young 67 year old. what do we know) Pool was great and staff was very curtious even though I didn't rent one of their units. Beach was more than I expected with shells, shells, and more shells. My grandchildren actually swam with manatees, three of them, that just hung around most of the day enjoying human contact. The ocean water temp was just right and the breezy conditions at the beach kept it cool. Sanibel is the beach place to go to. Love it!!!
Cons: My unit had outdated bedroom and dining room furniture but wasn't a big deal. I had problems with entry door lock but was repaired in a timely manner.
      More pros than cons.
I would recommend to my friends.

      Wonderful week in Sanibel!

Left on 06/08/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We stayed at Ed Hurwitz's Blind Pass Condo D-203 and had a wonderful time! The condo is in a very quiet area and the grounds were well manicured. The condo itself is an older type but well kept and just perfect for what we wanted. And it was very clean! We enjoyed daily walks to the beach (got to see Manatees 3 times the week we were there!) and relaxing evening swims in the large pool. Overall this is a great place at a great price! If I had to pick a down side it would be the somewhat long walk to the beach but we counted that toward our daily excersize!

      Excellent Value!

Our time spent here was wonderful. Since our 2 young grandchildren joined us for a week of our stay we really appreciated the portacrib, high chair, stroller, toddler bed and beach toys. The pool is amazing and the (gas) grilling area helps you save a few bucks by cooking out. Internet access is available, the beach is just a very short walk, no linen or cleaning fees, and the owner (Ed) even call and checks in shortly after your arrival to make sure all your needs are met. For your money you will not find a better slice of paradise!

      Great family condo!!

Left on 04/24/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We stayed at Ed's condo at Blind Pass (and yes, his rate is a great deal there) and we had our best vacation at Sanibel so far. The condo is spacious, well equipped and loaded with beach toys, chairs, umbrellas...even a wagon to haul all your gear to the beach. The beds were comfy and since I have a bad back, that was huge. I slept well every night. We were close to the pool which is awesome as it is the best pool by far on Sanibel. Our boys made friends with other kids and everyone had a great time. there is an area behind the club house where there are gas grills. We would cook our meals there and so would others so it became a gathering place and also a place to make new friends. the beach is next to Bowman's beach which is the best beach on Sanibel. so, not only do you have a great, reasonable condo, the best pool and also the best beach. Cannot go wrong! we plan on returning and as our boys said... "this was the best vacation ever!" (and our family is well traveled)
