Welcome to this well decorated home away from home, 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 2nd floor condominium on Sanibel Island. This corner unit is located at Sanibel Arms (unit A5) with gulf access canal and less than 200 steps from the beach. This unit comes with free boat dockage. There are picnic tables, lounge chairs, fish cleaning stations, and a BBQ grill in our back yard. Unit A5 is one of the largest in the complex and perfect for cost conscious vacationers who want to stay for at least 7 days near the beach.

Sanibel Arms is family-friendly with meticulously maintained grounds consisting of 64 units in eight buildings. It's conveniently loca...ted on the east-end of the Island less than a mile away from the causeway. Shopping, dining, and the historic Sanibel Lighthouse are 5 minutes away. Guests have full access to a heated swimming pool, a private white sand beach, and a clubhouse where computers, and internet connections are available 24 hours a day. Wireless internet is also available in each unit. Each unit gets a private parking spot.

Features include new cabinetry, granite countertops, ceramic tiled floors, carpeting in each of the bedrooms, and an enclosed lanai to assure your dining or lounging comfortably on cool, breezy nights.

To make your stay is as enjoyable as possible, furnishings include a 40" wall-mounted high definition TV and queen-size sleeper sofa in the great room; king-size bed in the master bedroom with a large closet and a 32" flat screen TV; one twin-size bed and one queen-size bed in the guest bedroom, also with a 32" TV. This unit includes boogie boards, beach chairs, shelling bag and beach toys for children. There are two kayaks available. You can launch the kayaks right off the dock or spend time fishing from the dock or beach.

Bikes can be rented on site for you to unwind with 22 miles of riding paths on the island. Paths also go through the wildlife preserves to provide an opportunity to observe the wildlife and vegetation. Each unit is individually owned and managed by an onsite management company.Read more

Located on the Gulf side of the Island, Sanibel Arms is a charming vacation spot. It's a great place to relax, enjoy time with loved ones and reconnect with nature. Our facility is located right on the beach, we have a continuous Gulf breeze and you'll sleep like a baby while you are here.

Sanibel beaches attract visitors from all around the world, partly because of the large quantities of seashells that frequently wash up there. One of the reasons for these accumulations of shells is the fact that Sanibel is a barrier island which has an "east-west orientation when most islands are north-south. Hence, the island is gifted with great sandy beaches and an abundance of shells. It is also due to the fact that Sanibel is "part of a large plateau that extends out into the Gulf of Mexico for miles. It is this plateau that acts like a shelf for seashells to gather." Many sand dollars can be found as well.

People who are lucky enough to find a shell of a junonia while shelling on Sanibel, often get their picture in the local newspapers. The junonia is very difficult to find and is greatly prized. Shells of the species can be purchased at local shell shops, or can be seen on display in the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, in some of the glass display tables at the Sanibel Cafe, or at the Sanibel Shell Fair in early March.

Throughout the year, many people come to the beaches of Sanibel to gather up beautiful shells. People are often seen bending down as they look for seashells, and this posture is known as the "Sanibel Stoop." There are beaches almost all around the island. Even on the way to the island there are beaches along the causeway which are great for fishing and windsurfing. However, beach parking is very limited on Sanibel, and in high season parking spaces are often unavailable.

Lighthouse Beach is named after the famous Sanibel Lighthouse, which includes a popular fishing pier and nature trails. The most secluded beach on the island is Bowman's Beach; there are no hotels in sight and the beach has a "pristine and quiet" atmosphere.
