Santa Barbara known as the "American Riviera" is known for its beauty, architecture and the incredible flora of the area. Something is always blooming and the mountains and ocean provide a rich diversity of natural environments to explore. You can swim at the beach and hike in the mountains in the same day!!! This property is close to it all and yet with the benefit of having it's own outdoor area to enjoy the beautiful weather in privacy.
Go whale watching, take in the wine country nearby, kayak the ocean. Ride the many bike trails, hike the many mountain hiking trails, or just relax at the beach. There is something for everyone. Santa Barbara has it's own Art Museum, and the Botanic Garden, Natural History Museum are within walking distance of this property. There is plenty of local music, theater and an abundance of great dining. The weather can't be beat with moderate temperatures year round, you always are able to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Santa Barbara will become a memory you will want to repeat as so many have as repeat guests to our properties.

We had a lovely week in this house during our recent family reunion. The home is large enough that everyone has privacy, and most of the decor and features are updated. However, it is casual enough for families with small children to feel comfortable. The best part of this house is definitely the outdoor pool area - beautiful fruit trees, a huge deck area, and a fabulous pool. The location is lovely, a short drive to town but removed in the hills. Walking distance to a great park, the Natural History Museum, and the Santa Barbara Mission. The secret perk that makes it feel luxurious is the white towels - there are tons of them in each bathroom!

This is the second year that we have spent our vacation at 'Poolside' in Santa Barbara. As before, the only thing we needed to do was show up and bring some good books to read and our food and drink. This vacation rental home comes with everything else you might possibly need for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.
The location is perfect. You fell that you are miles away from everything but in actuality you are only minutes away from downtown, the beaches, restaurants, etc.
We hope to be back again next year -

This is a fantastic place to vacation with a family. Near the botanic garden and the historic Santa Barbara Mission, it offers plenty of space, nice large bedrooms, an outdoor grill, pool and spa. To top it off there are a variety of citrus trees that the owner lets you take fruit from. You can't beat fresh oranges right off the tree!

All of our party enjoyed our 5 day stay. While the guys went sport fishing(with Tony from Santa Barbara Sportfishing, a real pro),the ladies went to Lotusland(a beautiful gardenspot). We brought enough fish(18) home for two meals and took advantage of a well stocked kitchen and grill. We went hiking in the Santa Ynez mountains just above the rental and enjoyed a view from 2700 feet or so. A limo picked us up and brought us to 4 vineyards. We enjoyed several fantastic meals, local Mexican fare,El Sitio(taqueria),Los agaves(with fabulous sauces) and Brophy's, a local seafood place with clam chowder that was as good as I've had anywhere. We went to the "Choir Mass"(0900, Sunday) at the Mission of Santa Barbara and the music was inspiring. I recommend this to any visitor to SB.
We made good use of the pool, spa and poolside furniture. A bonus was the fruit(oranges, lemons and limes) on the tiered orchard that surrounds the pool area. I can't imagine a better place to spend time while visiting Santa Barbara. We will be contacting Wendy to make arrangements to stay when our daughter gets married in SB next fall. -

This house and property were fantastic. The house was large and spacious and had just about anything that you would need for a comfortable stay. The back yard and pool area were the best and we spent most of the time outside enjoying the great weather. The location felt like a retreat miles from anything buts was only minutes from everything in Santa Barbara.
We definitely will want to come back for future vacations -

We had a very enjoyable stay at the property. The location was excellent and accessible to everything.
We mentioned to Wendy that one of the showers was not working properly and that the bathroom shared by two bedrooms at the end of the hall could use something on the window because it got very cold in there at night. -

We loved loved this house!. It is absolutely beautiful. There are windows and french doors from every room that open to the outside. There are beautiful gardens that surround the house. There is plenty of patio furniture for you to enjoy the views and don't forget the spa. The rooms are spacious and the master bedroom is breathtaking. The kitchen is well equipped with 2 dining rooms. The location by the Santa Barbara Mission was ideal. Close to the downtown and wharf. We would definitely stay there again.

The house is a wonderful example of architectural excellence using
modest materials. Wherever there is a view of the gardens, pool, mountains,
trees, distant ocean or sky there seems to be a strategically placed
window.
Inside is a wonderful collection of very functional rooms with space
for adults and kids. Lots of stuff to keep everyone occupied.
Outside there's the pool and large patio surrounded
by gardens and trees. There is an abundant amount of quality pool
furniture and tables and chairs for dining or reading. We also appreciated the high
quality bbq. The large gardens continue around the home, including wonderful, wild
gardens with fruit trees, flowers and vegetables. There's always a place in the sun and a place in the shade.
The preparation of the home for our visit was great. The result is a wonderful place for a restful vacation, an inside or outside dinner for 10 or just several families sharing a wonderful
time.
It would also make a great working retreat, close to the Mission and the Botanic Gardens. I have also recommended it to several friends who were planning to spend a few days exploring the Santa Ynez Valley wineries and views. The drive is easy and there is something appealingly civilized about dinner or even morning coffee in Santa Barbara. It's also around 12 miles to the legendary Cold Springs Tavern for lunch or dinner.

We stayed with our family of adults and 2 small grandchildren to visit extended family in Santa Barbara. The house is spacious and the patio area with the pool and spa were great. Very nice landscaping - even enjoyed veggies from the garden. We are planning to stay there everytime we visit SB as a family!

We love the house. It is confortable, quiet and it has the best location; within walking distance to the Mission and downtown area; short drive to wineries. The best was spending time in the beautiful outdoor patio, Bbqing, in the hot tub and pool.

Poolside was the perfect spot for my sister, brother and me to reconnect. The house had everything we needed and the outdoor space was just beautiful. The location was perfect...so close to everything with plenty of privacy. The wonderful vegetable garden and fruit trees were an added bonus. The outdoor area was so spacious, great grill and lovely pool. Everyone had privacy when they wanted it and we could be together in one of the many family areas at other times. Loved the ping pong table! Great spot for a family gathering!
