We really enjoyed our stay at Hourglass. It was so cosy and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable,,and we loved the fireplace on the rainy days. Thanks Wendy for the gift card , the restaurant was excellent. We especially liked that it was so close to downtown Santa Barbara yet very quite. We would definitely choose Hourglass again.

Santa Barbara Delight
Daly City, CARestful Retreat
Left on 10/14/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Had a delightful two day visit with my adult daughter at Hourglass. It was spacious, comfy, and quiet. We were in town for a Yoga workshop. Truly enjoyed the early morning stroll to Mass at the Mission, which was just a mile away. Loved the way the sun and moon streamed through the window and door panes; the fruit trees and bird song celebrating life. Needless to say, it was a short, but lovely, stay.

VancouverThe perfect honeymoon!
Left on 09/01/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Our honeymoon in Santa Barbara could not have been more perfect or romantic.. and much of this was due to the amazing vacation home The Hourglass.
We were amidst beautiful lush scenery and had complete, tranquil privacy in this homey cottage.
We loved cooking dinners with the fully equipped kitchen, relaxing in the hot tub, waking up to the sun streaming in our windows, listening to mellow music on the ipod dock, and eating out on the little patio...
The drive to the beach wasn't bad as there are so many beautiful beaches around to explore, and the distance to the fabulous State Street was perfect (minutes away).
Amazing, amazing home... we're already talking of returning for an anniversary and are in love with Santa Barbara!
Thank you Wendy!!

Guntersville, ALAmazing Central California Vaca..
Left on 08/11/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We had the most incredible week in Santa Barbara! We loved the little house, although we didn't spend any time in the hot tub or use the grill as we had expected. Loved the simple yet lovely and higher-end decore and great crisp, white linens! The washer and dryer were very convenient. Only wish I had more time to hike and enjoy the fresh grapefruits! The wine tasting, kyaking, horse riding, and canyon runs were the highlights for me. We ate at the Fish House (amazing food) and Hitching Post and even the little Seafood Company at the end of the pier. To many great experiences to mention! The only suggestion I have is to change the picture on the ad, which is not actualy a picture of this rental but of the larger house beside it, as it's a bit misleading. Can't wait to come back to California Central Coast! Would definately stay at the Hourglass again. Thank you.

I loved the Hourglass - cozy, comfortable, clean and contemporary. Thank you, Wendy, for your kindness during the reservation process and for providing all those little touches which made me feel at home. The cozy fireplace on one cool evening, the ipod dock on the stereo so I could listen to "my" music, the spa which eased my aches, the water filter so I didn't need to buy bottled water, the washer/dryer so I could refresh my clothes and the oh so comfortable bed. Loved the walk through Rocky Nook Park to the Mission. Most of all I so appreciated the peaceful location and views of the lovely surrounding hills. Stayed 2 nights, felt like more, wished it could have been a week, or a month, or maybe the rest of my life! Looking forward to returning next year.

Napa, CAA true home away from home
Left on 03/10/2011 for a stay in January 2011
My wife grew up in SB. We travel to SB several times a year to visit relatives and of course to enjoy SB. The location is within walking distance to relatives, SB Mission, the Botanic Gardens and two Parks. Arroyo Burro Beach (Hendrys) is 6 miles away where just before sunset you will usually find us, wineglass in hand, observing dolphins (usually) and pelicans (always). Later, back "home" we normally enjoy the spa in the "private" backyard. The well stocked kitchen allows for easy meal preparation. Although it was January, one night we enjoyed a "tri-tip" from the bar-b-que grill, also located in the private backyard. The Hi Def television, encripted wireless internet, DVD player and stereo system rounded out the "at home" feeling. We are scheduled to return in June 2011 for a week. This time we are bringing our bicycles.

My wife and I have stayed in this property on three occasions and we will return again. The combination of going to a peaceful place, which is private, romantic and with a perfect location closed to restaurants and Down Town area make this house a perfect place to stay.

The hourglass was nicely decorated and very clean. We were immediately impressed by it and glad that we chose it. We enjoyed the spa and private patio very much. The house has all of the conveniences that we required for our week long vacation. Wendy was extremely professional and easy to work with.

We have spent some truly amazing 9 weeks at the Hourglass! We loved the hot tub & the fireplace! Also, the location is just perfect, both for exploring beautiful Santa Barbara & its stunning surroundings & working at Ucsb in Goleta. Everything is just a short drive or walk away. If ever we come back to Santa Barbara, we'd love to stay here again! Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable!
