      Mid-century notalgia meets modern comfort

Left on 03/01/2013 for a stay in February 2013

This tastefully furnished and immaculate bungalow has the stuff of my California fantasies: a tranquil setting with my own orange tree, hot tub and hammock; a sublimely comfortable sofa facing a gas fireplace that kept me warm on chilly nights, a kitchen herb garden (didn't use it but enjoyed thinking that I might) and all the equipment a cook could want, including a decent selection of cookbooks. Compared to other places we've rented, this one was minimally stocked with kitchen and bathroom basics. Because we stayed only four nights, we chose to eat out rather than purchase olive oil, vinegar, mustard and such. One of Santa Barbara's best coffee and breakfast spots, the Daily Grind, is about 17 minutes' walk from the house. What a great way to start my day!

Well designed, appealing house and garden for family or other gr

Small but more than adequate space for our group of five adults, four year old, plus 3 1/2-month-old baby. We spent a full week there without getting on top of each other. Attractive kitchen is central, next to table, with sliding glass doors to deck and garden. Living and dining areas separate in front of house, good for quiet times or for watching TV without disturbing others. Furniture is comfortable and handsome, you can put your stockinged feet up on sofas. Enclosed garden with one tree perfect for child to climb safely and another with ladder to pick oranges . Patio good for a nap. Plantings in front provide privacy. Setting of quiet streets, most with sidewalks, can climb for short stretch to get view of ocean.

I can't wait to return to Santa Barbara!

Left on 07/06/2012 for a stay in June 2012

My stay in this property was absolutely the peak of my vacation at this gorgeous town. This property has new fixtures, comfortable beds, stylish decorations, a fully equipped kitchen to host parties, and it also has a cool jacuzzi to relax in. I liked how the property has hardwood floors, high speed internet, and the Wii to entertain the kids while the adults were sipping their martinis.

The location of the property is unbeatable; it is so close to downtown (about 2 miles drive) and it is so zen in the morning. I would definitely recommend everyone to plan their Santa Barbara vacation in this beautiful home. Besides, Emily (the owner) is such a sweet lady because she tries her best to accommodate my needs for this vacation.

Left on 07/05/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Spent a week in this rental with my 2 children (ages 8 & 5)and we had a very relaxing vacation! Quiet street near Mission Street with easy access to the 101. We had plenty of room for my extended family to stay with us also. We spent alot of time Bbqing & hanging out on the back patio. My kids really enjoyed the hammock & picking oranges!! Emily was very helpful & a pleasure to rent from. Thanks Emily!!

      Fabulous mid-century stunner!

Left on 06/09/2012 for a stay in May 2012

This house is amazing. Lots of cool places to stretch out, indoors and out. Very well decorated with quality pieces and pleasantly surprising details. The lighting was especially nice, I had fun setting the mood with all the different configurations of it! And the kitchen, the person that put it together must be a gourmet chef. There is every sort of gadget and tool one could need, and tons of fun cups, wine glasses and dishes. The front garden, deck and yard were lovely, even the oranges I picked from the tree were delicious. I just loved this place!
