West Cliff Drive is a wonderful place to walk, run or bike. The view out over the Monterey Bay is stunning. Just a short drive down it takes you to the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Wharf. A couple more blocks and you are downtown Santa Cruz with even more restaurants and shopping, theaters, night clubs, and all the fun this little city has to offer. UCSC is also nearby so it's a great place to stay and visit your college friends and family. The Yacht harbor is only a short drive along the beach for sailing adventures.
