This wonderful light & spacious home is just across the street from the ocean. It has views of the ocean from the front and views of the beach and ocean from the great room, kitchen & back deck. It has a total of 4-bedrooms and 2-baths. The two upstairs rooms have King sized beds, and the 2 downstairs bedrooms both have 2 twin beds. The Great room contains a Family room, Kitchen and a Dining area with a nice peek of the 15th Ave beach. Reverse floor plan with living room, great room, 2 bedrooms & 1 bath with shower/tub upstairs. The house itself was great - beautiful, lots of areas for hanging out, the pool table and ping pong tables were a big hit, just a few minute walk to the beach, tons of stuff for cooking with in the kitchen.
The only problem we had is that it wasn't cleaned very well. The trash cans, although they had new bags, were filthy under the bags with slimy stuff. The freezer had gunk on the bottom. One of the bathrooms had sand in it.

The house turned out to be a lot larger than we expected, so it was nice to have the space. The living room and dinning room catch the sunrise/sunset really well, and the location is fantastic, though you do not have direct access to the beach and have to walk back to East Cliff Drive and back down 15th to get to the beach at Bonita Lagoon. It's not too far though.
Something to be aware of if you have very young children (we had kids in our group aged 1 to 6), is the house is not kid-safe: staircase banisters have huge gaps (about 16 inches I think) and we had to temporarily block those off; cleaning chemicals were kept in the lowest drawer; the hot water temperature was scalding.
As one reviewer said, having to pick up and drop off the keys is a bit of a pain, I'm not sure why a lock box at the property can't be used as with all rentals I've used in the past. Another pain is the alarming number itemized fines the property management company can ding you for. It's enough to stress you out at the end of your vacation and is not very customer-friendly. I assume they are catering more to the owners of the properties.

We are glad to hear it was better than expected! The owner is aware of the staircase and is having that fixed so it will be up to code. Chemicals have been moved and are all green and safe.
Unfortunately we do not have lock boxes as we manage so many properties we want to meet the guests staying in our homes. When the guests check out we are able to let the inspectors know that it is OK for them to enter the property and begin getting it ready for the next guest to be able to check in and have just as much fun as the last guest. We aplolgize for any inconveinence it may cause our guests.
We do have a Damage Plan which covers up to $1000 in accidential damage to the property when the guests call the office to report. We take care of the problem ASAP.
We cater to the Guests first as we want them to be able to enjoy the Santa Cruz area. -

Two steps from Sunny Cove this is a very comfortable house perfectly suitable for our extended family (myself, children and grandchildren). A great farmers' market on Sunday close by and also a small market. House had all amenities and the game room was perfect for teen agers! Plenty of space, two decks and an ecological approach in terms of water heater and cleaning supplies! altogether a great place and we plan to return next year if at all possible!

This was a wonderful house for a big group of people. you can see the ocean off both decks, and there is plenty of space. Ping Pong, Pool, and skittles are all great games. The master bed room does not have most comfortable mattres, but it was sleepable. The location was nice, and the house was well stocked with kitchen supplies, and the BBQ worked.

We loved the house and its location. The decor was perfect beachy chic, great for a crowd. But the rental company was quite rude, and having to drive to get, then drop off the keys, a major annoyance.

The accommodations worked very well - roomy enough for 8 adults and a 2 1/2, Oven and bbq did not work properly and it would be an improvement to have more ice trays. Beds very comfortable. I thought the price rather high during this current economic recession we are in.
