Walk in thru the front door into your large living room with sectional couch, Flat screen TV with cable, DVD player, and Internet connection. Numerous windows give the living area a very bright and cozy feel. Off living room is your fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Hi: Loved the location and the house was very comfortable and homey. We had more space than I had envisioned and it was especially great to have the young ones in one room watching their own t.v.
It was well supplied with our cooking and bathing needs and very clean.
I would rent that place again. Hopefully we can do so next year.
Only complaint that I have with Kendall is that we have to drive another 15 minutes past Santa Cruz to pick up keys. I know this has always been your policy but can't we pick up keys closer to location??

This place is great! The house is clean. The neighbors are friendly. The market, restaurants, and entertainment are all within walking distance. We had a great time. I would most definitely rent this house again.

This Santa Cruz rental was the perfect kickoff to summer - I stayed there for a week with my 15 year old daughter and two of her friends. The location couldn't be better - just three blocks from the Boardwalk (to the south in a darling neighborhood) and one house away from the beach (albeit on the cliff - beach access is one block away). The house was darling and while small did not feel at all cramped (three other friends came at various points during the week and stayed for just a few nights, so at one point there were seven of us there). This house was less expensive as there is only one bathroom, but this was never an issue as the girls had their own sink in their room and there is a beach shower outside, surrounded by a privacy fence. I loved being able to relax on the couch with a book, windows open, listening to the surf, while the girls wandered over to the Boardwalk, down to the beach, out on the wharf, etc. They were never bored (and neither was I).
This is not a good house for anyone with mobility problems, obviously, as the bathroom is upstairs. The only other "downside" is that since it is right on the beach there is the expected noise associated with that - people coming and going until somewhat late (although the beach closes at 10pm and it's patrolled to make sure no-one stays out there). The rental process was extremely simple. I would absolutely stay here again. -

We decided on a last minute trip to Santa Cruz, and are so happy with the Seabright Views beach home. The home is fully equipped with everything needed to feel as if it was our own. The home is clean and well maintained, which is most important as we have small children. All of the popular SC attractions are close by, and we were able to leave the car parked all weekend! We enjoyed the beach, wharf, Boardwalk, and the little coffee shop across from Betty's Burgers. We will be back!

My husband, my 5 year old daughter and I stayed here with another couple and their 5 year old for my birthday this year.
The location is what keeps bringing us back. We can walk to the beach or Boardwalk, come back for a break and head out again. We barbecued this time too, which was a nice amenity not available at hotels. The outdoor shower is also a plus, especially with sandy kiddos coming back from the beach. -

We enjoyed our annual get together with friends at this wonderful home. The location is great - being within walking distance to the beach, several restaurants, and other interesting places. The kitchen is well appointed making it easy to prepare some meals in-house. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the one with a sink and counter mitigates the problem with this home having one bathroom. We would definitely recommend this location for a super get away spot.

My family and I truly enjoy each and every stay we have had at this beach home. As the other reviews have mentioned, this home has everything you would need, and then some. Its proximity to the Boardwalk, Museum, Beach, Betty's Burgers, and Seabright Brewery meant we left the car parked in one spot for our entire visit!

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It really is like taking your own home with you... to the beach! Very comfortable home. The kitchen is fully stocked with the cooking equipment we needed to make our meals instead of needing to go out constantly.
Location is absolutely perfect. It was a short walk to the beach and museum. And we were able to walk to the Boardwalk and Wharf... no need to pay for parking at those places!
I will be going back for sure. :) -

My conversations with Sandra and Meela on the 29th led me to believe that if I left the house entirely clean, I would not be charged for the 'professional outclean' mentioned in the contract. In the event, I left the house entirely clean (much cleaner than I found it) but was still unjustly charged for an outclean that was either completely unnecessary or which did not occur.

Per your Rental Lease you were charged for the out clean of the property. It was never stated that you would not be charged for this. The inspector came to the house to let you know what you needed to do before you left and came at the last minute and only 5 minutes after you called and requested this. Our homes are always cleaned after a guest and owner so that it is properly sanitized and cleaned for the next guest to come into.
We are sorry for the confusion.

Location! Location! Location! This is the idea spot for a family on vacation in Santa Cruz. A short walk to the boardwalk, beach,and favorite local Santa Cruz restaurants. The home is simple and unpretentious, perfect for a family traveling with kids. The upstairs rooms were cute and set up well enough that we hardly ever saw them, which provided us romantic time too! We used to live in Santa Cruz and knew this would be an ideal spot, hardly had to use the car the whole time we were there. Thanks for a fabulous experience, hope to come back soon.

Could not have asked for a better location. The beach was 2 blocks away and we were very close to the boardwalk. My teenagers were never bored. The rental was clean and comfortable. Wished there was a second bathroom. Would rent this place again.

Yes with the 1 bathroom, it is sometimes hard but with the bonus sink and enclosed shower with hot/cold water outside, if you are ambitious enough it can be even more FUN! -

We had a awesome time at the rental. It was centrally located and very close to the beach . We rode our bikes to the beach, boardwalk, warf and lighthouse. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed and the kids enjoyed their own floor with tv and everything. The bathroom is a little tight but we are a close family. Motovation to get skinny. We will be back here for sure.

My husband and I met some friends in Santa Cruz to stay at your lovely home. We were pleasantly surprised at the location across from the bay! It was very clean and well decorated; the kitchen was equipped with everything one would need for an elegant New Years Eve meal and casual New Years Day brunch. Each bedroom had comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Good restaurants abound in the area, within walking distance. Daily and nightly walks on the beach and the chance to make a bonfire each evening. The pier is close by with shopping and good eats. Parking at the house was easily accessible on the street and in the driveway. Amenities galore: Free WiFi, local phone calls and cable TV, clean linens, fully equipped kitchen. We all made a pact to return again next year for another delightful time!

The location is the key here. It's a block from the beach and I could prepare food for lunch and dinner so saved a bit there. I come to Santa Cruz every year and hotels there are actually pretty reasonable but I wanted a place to host my brother-in-law and his family. All other things being equal I'd probably choose to go back to the hotels on the strip. It was not that much of a savings when you consider we had to clean the entire place before we left and provide our own linens and towels. That part was a bit of a drag. Also the connection from the DVD to the TV was intermittent so evening movies didn't work out so well. The people I dealt with at Kendall & Potter were very friendly and professional. All in all the house is cute enough but it really was too much work and money.

We are glad you enjoyed the convenience of a rental compared to a hotel. We do not ask that you do a full clean of the property when you depart, just wash your breakfast dishes, empty the refrigerator, and take out the trash. Our inspectors come in adn do the rest for you. We do offer a linen service for the homes that do not provide them. We have let the owner know about the DVD player and TV issues. We hope to see you in the future.

We spent two months in this quaint little house with a family of four and truly loved our stay. It was our home away from home in a great neighborhood. The kids and their friends loved the location since they could walk to the beach and boardwalk by themselves. The adults loved the morning runs and evening walks on the beach to the nearby lighthouse.
The house is clean comfortable, but not spotless. There is just enough room with a well organized kitchen and 3 bedrooms. If you can manage with just one small bathroom (we never really had an issue) than you should be good to go.Response from Kendall & Potter Property Management - 09/02/2010

This is the second time we have visited this property in 2 months . . . we love it! The location is fantastic, we were able to walk to both the beach and the boardwalk! We also walked to Seabright Brewery and Betty's Burgers during our stay. We really had no reason to move our car once we arrived! We will be back!!!

My family and I rented this house in March and loved it. Location was one of the most important things we looked for on our hunt for a good vacation rental. We were close enough to walk to both the beach, boardwalk, and Betty's Burgers! There are sand toys for the kids to use while at the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked with all appliances, pots and pans that we could have possibly needed. Beds were comfortable, and the kids had a great time in the big upstairs bedroom. We were a little hesitant about only having one bathroom, but with one of the rooms upstairs having a sink/mirror/countertop, it was easy for the kids to brush their teeth without needing a full bathroom! We had a marvelous time and are planning on returning soon!

The house is in a great location but inside felt very cramped and claustrophobic. The only bathroom is extremely tiny and the top bedroom had a strange smell to it like urethane. No outdoor space to relax in at all. Would have been more tolerable if the weather was good because we were so close to so many places like the beach, boardwalk and restaurants.
